An accurate assessment of Scotland’s most over-rated football manager by Glenn Gibbons.

No doubt Scotland will rescue Smith from the dole queue as no one else seems to be interested in the ‘wily old’ chancer.

Smith’s ludicrous ‘debt-free’ nonsense should have been addressed the moment he uttered it in public.

Did Murray use EBT’s for 9IAR

Gascoigne could have signed for any team in Europe, how did he end up at Poundland?

Stefan Klos was clearing more with the huns than Beckham was at Man U?

Once the current charges are complete,I want CFC to pursue their 9IAR.Longmuir said he has no interest in it,do CFC? I hope so.

Following on from last nights reporting Scotland that the newco rangers have won 33 Scottish cups, I have made an online complaint regarding this factually incorrect report:

During a preview of the Scottish cup tie between newco rangers and Alloa the presenter stated and implied that newco Rangers had won 33 Scottish cups. This is factually incorrect as the rangers football club incorporated in 1899 was liquidated on the 31st October 2012 owing the country tax of tens of millions of pounds. The newco rangers started life at the bottom tier of the Scottish league after the assets(ground, some players etc) were sold to a consortium called sevco. Therefore the newco rangers have not won any trophies. I would expect Reporting Scotland to have a better grasp of the facts, rather than perpetuating a myth that this is still the Oldco rangers.

    —————————

I would encourage any cqners that can be bothered to send off a wee complaint to help them report the facts. It’s quite remarkable that a club a few months old can rack up 33 Scottish cups.

I can understand the thinking behind that appointment but with it comes the fear perhaps subconscious of standing up to a core issue.

My man is American. Head of The International Forgiveness Institute who has written extensively on Truth and Reconciliation and has experience of bringing forgiveness principles to school children in Belfast.

Enough background knowledge with it becoming baggage.

On the bright side at least the SG has recognised the need for advice it is a question of what will be admitted as evidence and who judges what is admissable.

It would be unfortuneate if an inititiative to bring balance had imbalance built in.

If it is true that you cannot fix a problem with the same mindset that created it, does that panel have sufficient external thinking to draw on?

I have no idea but no doubt the issue, if indeed there is one, will emerge as focus is placed on the working of the group.

  10. Good morning again.

Not long back from my usual ParkRun. Came in a few places behind a guy wearing a t-shirt featuring the 2011 Alloa Marathon! It’s a sign I tell ye!

Alloa half time and full time – 25/1

Alloa currently sitting in 2nd place in the 2nd division, 9 places above their opponents.

Alloa have played 4 away games in the league, winning 3 of them and scoring 9 goals in the process.

Oh, by the way, I’m hoping for an Alloa win.

What the FTT report will confirm or reject is that 2 of Smith’s signings Davis and Mendez were on EBTs and, perhaps more significantly, the date the EBT core bill landed as a demand to pay on a desk at Ibrox.

If before the 2008 summer xfer window Smith spent enough in that period (circa £19m)to have satisfied HMRC it would be met and freed Rangers from the fate that befell them.

Spot on. I have never rated him as a manager – but I wouldn’t accuse Smith of being stupid.

While the ‘debt-free’ rubbish would have been music to the ears of Dodgy Dave Murray, I have no doubt Smith was covering his own wrinkled ass with that comment.

After all, with oblivion staring Rangers in the face Smith decided to buy Jelavic – more money he knew he should not have been spending when there was a £24m tax bill on the doormat.

So much for his love of the club. I can’t wait until Smith has to account for his own EBT. The day will come, and he knows it.

Thankfully the young teacher ,whom I know very well is recovering after a few scary days in intensive care but I heard an amusing account of what happened when the cops were questioning some of the kids as to what they witnessed.

As it was the day before Halloween the children were all dressed up for the occasion.

The conversation went something like this

Cop: “Well son. What’s your name?

    Child: “Spiderman”

Cop: “No son. What’s your real name?”

Once the CVA was knocked back this became the only game in town. They will have their titles stripped going back to the start of the SPL, even they know that, but can you imagine how they will feel when their beloved 9iar starts to be investigated? In fact the investigation will have to go right back to 1988 and it will take a few years to complete, but it will be certainly worth the wait

  25. We should all be thankful to Walter Smith.

He, more than any other, caused their downfall and obliteration.

They still had a chance, if they cut their cloth, as recently as 2010, to get out of it, but his “air of protestant supremacy” wouldn’t allow him to play second fiddle to Celtic.

So, thanks Walter, the man who killed the huns.
