There’s also a look ahead at our Champions League chances………

It’s here, it’s FREE to read online, it’s stuffed full of what your community have to say.  Get it while it’s hot!

As well as reading for FREE here (don’t try to read through the graphic below), you can subscribe for £10 or £20, and our sponsor, Executive Shaving, who offer an enormous range of grooming products, are offering readers a £20 voucher for all £30 CQN Magazine subscribers

ian Black’s comments were imo poorly articulated as i suspect for him there is an element of truth in what he says. He is wrongly attributing his personal difficulties in adjusting to Div 3 on the quality of opposition. He talks about no time on the ball, tougher tackling, etc.

I suspect for him this feels like the case. The problem he is identifying is that it is more difficult to play football with the quality of players in his own team. At Inverness and Hearts he was playing with guys who made better passes, better runs, etc. That’s what creates time on the ball. Anyone who has ever played the game knows this – nothing better than playing with good players just as there is nothing more frustrating than playing with rubbish players.

It will soon dawn on him he has sold his soul.

Yesterday it was pointed out to me that it was BOS that expedited the Fergus Mc Cann era. I was complaining about banks but my mate insisted that we should always be in their gratitude for killing the huns.

After a nightshift of the kind of madness that only the CQN Twilight Zone can do justice to, I am not sure whether or not there was an element of tongue-in cheek in this particular offering.

Personally I always liked a good blast at Faith of Our Fathers.

However, for those of us with a sense of humour, the idea of ‘ Faith of our fathers living still, in spite of dungeon, fire & sword’ is comic genius.

For an institution which treated any soul who had difficulty in accepting Church dogma, & who was brave enough or foolish enough to articulate those thoughts, to imprisonment & a fiery demise, is sheer Monty Python.

Poor old Galileo had to recant his ‘foolish ‘ notion that the Earth moved around the Sun to avoid just such an ending.

We laugh heartiest when we laugh at ourselves.

I left Kilmarnock last week on the final whistle and did not get involved in the celebrations I am glad I did now because as far as I am concerned this years league title ,without the other two trophies ,is now worthless and I am afraid Mr Lennon is to blame and no one else

Thanks for the invite Lennybhoy (and BB), and I look forward to meeting more new CQN friends. Just a heads up though, I have the unenviable record of 28 consecutive losing bets over 4 race nights, so increase you chances and pick a different horse to me!

Ah Michael Rosie is a name to wonder at for the reasons you give.

My aim is to start questions being asked before proceedings get underway lest the make up of the panel finds what it already believes to be true as opposed to what is.

  14. Awe naw – the BOS were on the verge of killing Celtic.

Among their executives taking the decision were two uber-Huns, one of whom was rabid for finishing us off. I was very well versed in the situation at the time having a close relation who was a favoured big customer of theirs (football neutral leaning towards us) and in almost daily contact with several execs over his own business interests; add to that regular functions/dinners where loose talk would be traded and the picture painted to me was a noose tightening round Celtic’s neck, gleefully applied.

Fergus’ arrival shook those guilty parties to the core and forced them to pull us back fro the brink.

I give them NO credit for expediting the McCann era – the McCann era was the worst nightmare for some, coming as it did from laft-field late on when they thought they had us buried.

Hell mend them now and their bitter footballing interests. Tell your mate that the next time he tries to praise them; only Fergus’ force of will saved Celtic.

Going from memory I was a bit circumspect in what I posted and what you have confirmed.

The Jelavic decision beggars belief but is evidence of the ‘ no one can touch us’ mindset at play.

When you factor in the cost of Smith’s strategy to Celtic in financial terms it is no wonder msm dare not mention Smith’s role.

The gloves are not off yet but once the FTT result comes out it will be impossible to hide any longer the damage done to Celtic and Scottish football by all associated with Rangers.

    Not long now.

  20. Sandman

    Absolutely correct!

The BOS wanted to bury us in 1994.

After Fergus gained control they (the bank) ,and after the debt of £5.25 million was paid off, was given the opportunity of being the banking partner.

They only offered a loan of £2.5 million – fully secured – which in the words of Fergus was “nothing more than an insult”.

Instead the club went to the Co-op Bank which provided a £10 million line of credit – unsecured – at a very reasonable rate of interest.

  23. Old Chinese fable.

Man standing outside his house, watching as a neighbour passes by, carrying a large basket on his back.

“What’s in the basket”, asks the man.

“It’s just my old grandfather”, is the reply.

“He is old and useless, so I am taking him to the river to drown him”.

“Don’t forget to bring the basket back then,as it will be needed again”, said the man.
