No one offered Celtic job yet

1032

Roy Keane is due at a press conference in Dublin this afternoon and he is sure to be asked about Daily Mail reports this afternoon that he is set to be appointed Celtic manager as early as tomorrow.

It’s pretty clear Celtic have spoken to Keane but NO ONE HAS THE JOB YET, the Club are still speaking to a number of candidates.

We’re going to remain hostages to news reports for a while. The sooner things are sorted the better.

If you missed it earlier………

Lisbon Lion John Hughes is joining Brogan Rogan, Auldheid and Angela Haggerty for a CQN Question and Answer evening at the Manor Club, Wimbledon, on 21 June. The event is ticket only, so let me know if you would like to attend, celticquicknews@gmail.com

I really don’t know why Neil Lennon left Celtic but I’m allowed my suspicions. Don’t know if you remember about three or so years ago when Johan Mjällby was threatening to leave Celtic over his wage, I asked him about it in a Sydney hotel, he never answered me but his face painted a thousand words.

I share your abhorrence at the prospect of Roy Keane becoming our manager but I will have a wee bet that you will only ban yourself from these pages for a very short spell 0:)

The Green Brigade featured a prominent Saltire when they returned for our final league match. It may not be as difficult as it once was to sport a Saltire at CP. Think it might take time for the rest of Scotland to warm to us though

    …………………………………..

I have no problem with Celtic fans waving the Saltire at Parkhead. In fact I like it when I see it but I don’t want us to incorporate it into our badge or anything i know we were founded by Irish Nationalists and Ireland was not a republic at the time but we have long been associated with the tricolour and in my opinion, it should stay that way. Others may differ.

We don’t have to adopt Fran n Anna and The White Heather Club along with the Saltire. We could be tasteful and go for Dick Gaughan and Emili Sande instead.

    ……………………………..

    I’m all for Emile Sande.

I reiterate, we are not Hibs.

If I was to go to a major – home or away game – involving Celtic, I’d take a Saltire before I’d take a Tricolour. Last time I did that was in Sydney, though I covered my bases, I took two Scottish Flags and one Irish one.

Do you know something Ernie, after years of reading your posts on here, and I have asked you about it before, I just don’t understand your hatred of Scotland as an entity.

  9. Keane will be manager if Moyes says no. DD will want a manger who will keep the Club profile high down South and these two tick that box more than any other mentioned.

I gather there is much talk of Roy Keane becoming Celtic’s next manager – if he comes then I wish him well. I hope he doesnt . His record as a manager to date says more than I or anybody else here can.

  14. Keane now as low as 1/12, best price 4/6.

Doesn’t mean he’ll be manager but that’s where the cash is going on, all of the others prices are lengthening

Shouldn’t there be parity of esteem between the Saltire and the Tricolour at Celtic Park?

I was surprised by how many Saltires were in Seville, used to be a poster on here with that moniker.

Digressing, I’m sure only if my memory serves – though it’s had a few stalls – Pablo took a Saltire to Spain.

If there is a candidate that has been mentioned so far that fits no ones criteria it is Roy Keane.

He spent over 80 million at Sunderland and millions more at Ipswich. Failed at both.

No European management experience. No Scottish football management experience. Sunderland players celebrated when he left.

He is a worse candidate that Tony Mowbray was and quite possibly is.

If Roy gets the job it can only be down to the madness of one man.

  21. !!Bada Bing!! on

G67- sorry mate, they were about 4/1 on Herve somebody last week for a while, is that not Sevco’s new sponsor? Erratic odds ? That sounds about right HH
