Oft-triangulated Georgios

763

It’s good to be back.  A power outage at our datacentre on Saturday caused servers to crash and subsequent database problems.  Our thanks to Andrew in Belfast for his invaluable help, again…

Trying hard to ignore speculation of various players coming our way, plenty of time for that later in the month, although I will add a note of caution.  The fact that a journalist gets confirmation from Neil Lennon that he is able to sign a £6m player does not constitute a promise to do so.  It’s little more than bait, for those who still read such sources.

I’ve heard nothing but good things over the years about Georgios Samaras.  He is a player who flourishes on confidence, and support, and does so most often at the highest level.  In Europe he is Celtic’s out-ball, a player capable of bringing others into the game, turning defence into attack.  It is at this rarefied atmosphere that his goal-scoring has also been most effective.  Ironically his style is less effective in the SPFL, where Celtic spend far less time 80 yards from goal.

A considerable reason for the low return in the Champions League this season was that everyone knew how reliant we’d become on Georgios.  He was heavily marked; by the time the ball got to his feet, three opponents triangulated around him.

It’s no surprise he has offers from Spain, and no doubt elsewhere, to consider. If he leaves I hope his lasting memories will be cheers of support, not his harsher experiences.

Definition of poor IT planning: datacentres who host their Status page at their own datacentre. “We’re down, but you can’t read this, because we’re down.”

Tickets bought for the Aberdeen cup game.

Going to have a wee seat in the main stand, just for a change, years since I was in there.

If sevco shares stared trading for 1p each it would make the whole clumpany worth £650, 000.

I know you are pretty clued up, but is there not a danger that your offer to show your hand to those who go through Paul could result in your hand being seen by some who don’t have Celtic’s interest at heart?

Anyone can come on here and there is no way you can know who really lies behind an email address. This comment is definitely not aimed at Joe who has been posting here for years.

Keep your cards to yourself and a few trusted folk. Once the process is over you can reveal what you had. I know this is hard when others are calling for openness.

So not only do you know what is going on you know what I’m thinking?

I know exactly what I meant and that was you seem to prefer not to hear anything that would change your convictions. Why I have no idea.

However I respect your right not to be informed but not you then using your ignorance of events in this specific matter to have a go at folk with a much better understanding of the issues.

as the price of the shares, and hence the market capitalisation, goes down, sevco will find it harder to get credit.

    Oh! wait…. :-)

The info is already available on line and you raise why cards have to be played close to the chest.

However I’ll check if it is old hands asking.

Re the shares in the zombies.

I understand that shares can trade at a fraction of a penny per share

they have had their money from the original sale -the collapse of the price means that some unscrupulous person (no laughing at the back) could buy them up for a song. Also they are unable to raise money from issuing new shares.

As they have no line of credit from a bank they will become insolvent if they don’t cut their costs to reflect their income. They will have to rely on some rich punter giving them a loan.

I’m a fully paid up main standite and you can indeed wear jeans as long as they’re ironed.

When the tickets went on sale I suggested we have a CQN-meet in the 3 rows immediately behind the tunnel (Sections FS4 and FS5 rows 18-20). But don’t think anyone took me up on it. I’ll be there though.

  12. What’s the story with Tony Watt?

Is he back with us ?

    Can he play with us?

Think he can save us a fortune

  13. Thanks for the info re the shares folks.

The lower their value goes the more I think it’s a ploy to push the price down for someone to purchase for a song and make a killing.

    Again.
