Ogilvie was born for this moment as SFA to consider expelling Rangers

877

Although Rangers won their case at the Court of Session today, they have the option not to serve the ruling on the SFA that its Judicial Panel’s 12 month ban on player registration is illegal.  Winning the point in law might sound like a victory, but taking the Association to court breaks membership rules of the SFA, rules imposed on all associations by Fifa.

We will find out soon enough the reach of SFA president, Campbell Ogilvie, who was one of the recipients of an EBT which precipitated Rangers crisis.

Rangers are deep in Sion territory now.  Either they walk away from this showdown, the SFA expel or suspend them from football, or Fifa will shortly remind the SFA of their duties when a member club takes action in the civil courts.

Campbell Ogilvie was born for this moment; it justifies him holding onto his position all these months despite being “heavily conflicted”, according to his chief executive.  I do not expect this to end well.

Despite an independent judicial panel ruling against Rangers, there is no way the office holders at the SFA will expel Rangers, no matter what they do. They would rather jeopardise the Scotland national team and every other club’s European participation.

They will be discussing the unpaid tax and NI for this season. This has nothing to do with the BTC.

I think they may well have been, since they mentioned £40m for Ticketus and HMRC….however, I quoted what SKY said, where they didn’t make the distinction …purposely ?.?

    That is my whole point.

You wouldn’t need to meet someone to do that .

You just politely refuse the meeting.

    Which they MAY have done.

  13. Son of Warsaw,

I was going to be in your country to go and see the Ireland Croatia game in Poznan on June 10. A big Croatian friend had arranged 2 tickets but due to another commit I need to step out .

The question is what do Celtic really want ( in private 1- 1 discussions between DD and Lawwell ) ; Do they really want rangers kicked out to division 3 or defunct like third Lanark; no matter what messages make their way to the Celtic support.

I want rangers out of the SPL full stop as a supporter who attended many games over the last 20 odd years. However I could understand the private intentions of the 2 individuals despite the vote cast and public utterances.

Lets see what happens in the fullness of time ; I am only putting out the scenario that I believe will unfold having spoke to many individuals.

I would like to say more , but it’s not fair on the individuals.

There are so many strands to this eg. Which 3 rangers players are now with a Celtic supporting lawyer agent ….clue one of them is Nigerian……as the clock ticks down on their contracts.

Anyway it’s late here so that’s it for now.

A public no vote for a newco by Celtic with the SPL clubs voting in favour of newco ( would privately be fine with Lawwell and DD )

    rubbish.

  15. These huns are getting out control with their sense of entitlement, the sfa really need to take a stand. How many times do they have to break the rules before something will happen to them. If they are in the spl next year it’s all over.

Thank God for that…….so, where does the BTC fit into the CVA, especially if the decision doesn’t arrive before the CVA decision date in June….?

  20. Sixteen Roads @21.01,

We seem to be basically in agreement but failing to reach a conclusion!

We’re agreed about the horrors of Nazism & about the courage & skill of Germany’s fighting men: I’d only quibble slightly about the numbers stacked against them, which was the choice of their own leaders (i.e. they attacked the Soviet Union & declared war on the USA, not the other way round).

Of course both “sides” committed atrocities, but I don’t agree that those committed by the “Anglo-Americans” (surely the British etc, & Americans) were equal to those of the Nazis & Communists.

  21. I suppose it’s too much to ask for UEFA/FIFA to react incisively with regards the hun and insist they are dealt with in accordance with the seriousness of their crimes. After all it’s not as if something really serious like a bottle getting flung on the park has happenned.

They certainly reacted quickly then me thinks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  22. Sixteen roads to Golgotha on

FF may well have been one of the best players at the club last season, however his refusal to commit to the cause, deems him to be almost irrelevant in terms of future planning.

Until such times as he pledges his future to the club,he shall remain to be of little consequence. He is either with us or against us.

The same cannot be said of Samaras.

FIFA are putting pressure on the SFA already according to SSN.They are demanding heavier punishments for going to the civil courts.I mean heavier than Fat Sally and that’s heavy!!

I read the news on thems appeal on my iPhone on the bus home. In all seriousness, and I had a realtively busy day, I just started reading ‘blah blah blah’ and my eyebrows started to hurt. The whole thing is pathetic really and it grates with me that a bankrupt company can get away with things for so long – D&P too, shysters one and all everyone involved in this sorry affair. My personal view (I am a financial guy on my granny’s side) is that they are done and it’s the longest vocal warm-up the fat lady has ever sung. Sometime, she’s going to sing and this will be all over, and yes, sometimes it looks like she’s not coming on, but (boy, I know how to give a metaphor a kicking) suffice to say, I just cannot see how this will end well for them, at all.

Just looked into RTC again. Things are moving along and £30k was for only one player transaction. The latter is not from Barcabhoy but the suggestion is that the cat is out the bag.

    Much more ahead on this.

Seems like the huns have made it to the top of cheating worldwide, allegedly of course.

The CVA is just a ploy to ensure SPL football for next season.

They expect to liquidate. On that front the BTC is irrelevant.

There plan is as i have stated before .

No debt and invest in players.Sell them on at a profit.

Has Barcabhoy now put up and shut up? Not having a go, do you trust that he has a smell of what’s coming?

He hinted that it was to do with the EBT payment to Souness 10 years after he left the club and shortly before he signed a player from Rangers.
