It could be worse.
An injury to Forster, Ambrose, van Dijk or Izaguirre would be difficult to accommodate but we are not short of right side-midfield options. James Forrest is now back from injury and although Derk Boerrigter joined as a left-sided player, he has already featured on the right for Celtic. If Boerrigter plays on the left Samaras, Commons and Stokes can all feature on the right.
One man’s cloud is another’s silver lining, just ask Beram Kayal, who kept Victor Wanyama on the bench until he was injured in December 2011. Victor got the run in the team he needed and never looked back.
Signing van Dijk was a response to an unexpected transfer request/not in the right frame of mind to pull a jersey on statement from Kelvin Wilson, but the major planned summer activity was to inject pace into the team for Champions League games, specifically through Boerrigter and Pukki. For various reasons we’re not there yet, maybe Ajax at home later this month will change that.

Talking about gutties, when Adidas kick first arrived on the scene they were the footwear of champions. Mine were just black sannies or Adidas Tenko to the well off!
One day in art class in St Augustines in the Milton, I thought..why no paint the white stripes oan them! Brilliant from a distance or while running about, they looked the part. Until it rained! Looked down to see two dead badgers had engulfed my feet! The shock, the riddy. Couldn’t go down the pitches for weeks.

Re: Kojo and to and fro views. I have only been seeing this site for a few now, I have to say that Whilst I may not agree with a lot Kojo blogs I always find his comments entertaining and frequently humorous.
If we are talking footwear my Mum got ours from Discount Daisies on Bury market.
I had to take a lot of stick at school with my lookalike Adidas etc.

There used to be a black ash pitch next tae the “Mungo”….next tae the Mungo Chapel…..played on it when I was young……..ALWAYS had broken bottles strewn around it……while playin on it….wearin gutties…..or Black Marias as we called them, I went tae smash the ba’ intae the postage stamp n kicked a broken bottle instead. I gingerly loosened the lace on my sanny n peeped in……it wiz like Vietnam in there……luckily……I was 2 minutes fae the auld Royal Infirmary……..still puke when I think about it….
