I’m getting beside myself with annoyance at the emergence of blog and online distractions ahead of the most important game of the season. Darling-Salmond do not get my heart pounding, Henrik Larsson’s summer conversation with Celtic (he was asked if he was interested, he said he’s not ready, nothing more than that), and despite the need to sign players, they would be pointless if we don’t win tonight.
This is our Cup Final, our biggest game of the season by some margin. This game determines what pace our development project proceeds at, what players we can attract and who we can afford. For the season ahead, this is our α and Ω.
For the players, it is a joy. A gift. This is their chance to perform a task they are more than capable of in front of an appreciative crowd. For Ronny and Johnny, it is their first stake in the ground.
Don’t assume it will be straightforward. It could be a long night, we may lose the first goal, but it takes a brave team to leave Celtic Park with the spoils on a European night. We have to remain patient early on; Maribor will tire as the game progresses. The final 15 minutes should be Celtic’s most productive.
Enjoy the game.

The Green & White Tiger
Tooting Tims now have a site and is pretty central, there is also a CSC by Euston Station if that helps at all
Dundee tickets available…..
One thing you can guarantee on a night like this, is the crowd switching on to big game mode.
It put the frighteners on Milan, Barca and Man Utd, and they dont come any bigger. Maribor should have jelly legs at 7.45.

There is a rumour that we are bringing in the Manchester Utd. second keeper on loan for 12 months.I dont know if this has anything to do with Craig Gordon or not. H.H.
……………………..,
I noticed references to this yesterday. I thought clubs were only allowed 3 loan signings. To date we have Berget, Tonev and Denayer. Could we foul foul of EUFA if we play a player who is ineligible because he is one loan too many?
This time last year, it was Karagandy. Not as strong a side as Maribor, but they had a 2-0 lead. That was a great night. Hopefully this will be, too.
Good ole’ Alison.
I am excited about the game tonight, really looking forward to it. Come on you Bhoys in Green.
Hail Hail.
TheOriginalSadiesBhoy. I dont know what the rules are on the number of loan signings dont forget the Ghanian winger is also on loan. H.H.

God I forgot about him. Hope Big Peter has checked the rules thoroughly. Can anyone shed any light on this issue regarding loanees?
Go On Alison….
Feel like we’ve opened the scoring with that tweet !!!

Good God do we not learn that signing players with poor injury records is a disgrace.
I reported it last year when we signed Moyokolo and Boeritger.
I am posting it about Gordon now.
We never seem to learn.
I could scream.

Three options.
3. The management have been watching Black Adder and have come up with a cunning plan to wrongfoot Maribor.
Nope. Nothing to do with me.

Where is the point in worrying about the future, especially if you can’t have a direct effect on it. I will tell you who can have a massive effect on what happens on the pitch tonight, firstly the players, whoever they may be, whoever makes it into the Celtic team tonight has the opportunity of a career defining moment they can directly effect our fortunes, and secondly Us the massive vocal Celtic support getting behind our team. We can win this.
Hail Hail.
Just had a quick swatch at Article 10 concerning the loan of players and there is nothing to indicate any restriction on the number of players a team can sign for European competitions. I wonder if the ole SFA has a rule restricting the number to three.
Hi lhads. Looking forward to the game tonight alright. When I start thinking about it, I can swing from being wildly optimistic (post Dundee Utd at home), to having a sinking feeling in the pit of my stomach (post Legia away). Somewhere in the middle should be about right and we should go through by a goal or maybe even 2.
I worry Paul when I see you going on about the Maribor team getting tired during the game. I think you said the same about Legia on the day of the game and that didn’t quite work out. Can you stop that please ? Just for my nerves sake like.
I think tonight, a lot of it is about our mental strength. Concentration has to be at an all time high for the 90 mins plus. IF all our guys are focussed, and play to the best of their abilities, we’ll beat this lot.
For all Irish Tims, it is on TV3 if you haven’t got Sky.
C’mon the Hoops!

CELTIC: Celtic move in on Polish striker Teodorczyk | Evening Times http://t.co/LYloVzypZi via @TheEveningTimes

Regarding atmosphere at celtic Park- personally I feel sitting down inhibits the majority of people singing. I sometimes feel the need to sing with my lips not moving, because no one within 30 feet is singing and I feel too self conscious.
The majority of people would sing if they felt comfortable and most others around them were.
We rely on the GB too much. Maybe we could consider giving supporters’ clubs and buses the option of blocks of seats together- I think if this happened there would be an excellent atmosphere and no need for the GB.
Tonight will take care of itself you’d hope. This is for the bread and butter games I am talking about.
I have looked through the UEFA rules on player eligibilty. They are silent on the matter of loanees. Players are eligible to play provided they have been properly registered through their own national association and are included in the club’s lists for the competition.
My take is that there is no limit on the no. of loanees a club may register. I may be mistaken though.
Partick, Hearts, Dundee, Falkirk, Hamilton, Hibs , all odds on tonight £10 accum , pays oot £120^^^^^^^^^^ I be havin a bit of that.
Tiny Tim
You should jack in “supporting” Celtic and do something with yer family or a charity or sumthin’.
You are a heart attack waiting to happen.
Calm doon man!
Paul
This is a cup final and maybe a distraction or two is no bad thing. Call it nervous anticipation, call it high agitation, call it behind the couch knuckle chewing, call it any twitching thing you want – in fact. ..
Maybe your article is a symptom of that very thing too :o)

Goalkeeper .
Maribor s goalie is the cousin of Samir Handanovic who plays for Inter. Fortunately he is nowhere near as good as his cousin . Samir Handanovic is the best goalie in Serie A
Theoriginalsadies,
International loans are hunky dory.
Restrictions are only placed on the other kind.
Watford kicked the ass out this last season mate.
Quite apart from simply taking great pleasure from a Celtic win, I also take great comfort from knowing that having to write a story about it causes considerable angst to the vast majority of SMSM churnalists.
On my way to Paradise for the first time this year. Love the feeling of excitement and anticipation travelling to a game.
Absolutely certain that we will win tonight. I know this because my brother is coming and he has yet to see celtic lose at a match he attends. So there. Put your money on it.
Lubo.
