I know what you are thinking, Ewan Henderson looked the part. Even more so than his brother, Liam, who also left Celtic for a loan spell at Hibs, before moving to Italy. That laser-precise pass at Tynecastle which set Celtic on their way to an important victory when Neil Lennon picked up the pieces left by Brendan Rodgers pointed to riches ahead.
Unlike many apparent teenage prodigies, Ewan never disappointed, trouble was, he did not play often enough to disappoint. All we know for sure is that Lennon did not rely on him and after six months at Lennoxtown, Ange Postecoglou has moved him on.
Hibs, managed by Shaun Maloney, who worked with the player as a Celtic youth coach, is a good move. He has a realistic chance of commanding a regular first team place in an aspirational side. Celtic released him permanently for little more than an initial loan agreement that will prevent Ewan from facing them for the remainder of this season.
With two midfielders already signed this month, it is no surprise that Ismaila Soro is set to follow Ewan out the door. For reasons that continue to perplex, MLS clubs continue to swoon around the edges of the Celtic squad, with New York Red Bulls reportedly hoping to add Ismaila to a list of former Celtic misfits that includes Patryk Klimala, Cameron Harper and Lewis Morgan, the latter moving from Inter Miami last month.
Another midfielder on the move is 20-year-old summer recruit from Sheffield Wednesday, Liam Shaw, who will spend the remainder of the season on loan at Motherwell. Liam was one of the success stories in the win over Real Betis in December. The move to Fir Park will hopefully give him an opportunity for first team football, it should also give you and me a better chance to assess his potential.
The Dundee pantomime season officially ends this week (oh yes it does) and Dundee are wondering what use they have for our on-loan panto act, Leigh Griffiths. We are short of striker talent and Ange is still new to Scotland, so may be unfamiliar with how things work. The panto season is also over in Glasgow, Leigh’s time at Celtic must also be over.
10 sleeps ’til Hibs.

Chris Julien will be like a new signing
Leaving aside the pros and cons of vaccination.
I see Novak Djokovic ( his people) have released paperwork that allowed him into Australia.
Why, why did we not do the same re Dubai. ?
Imo, it would not justify the poor moral decision, however it would have proven that Celtic complied with the Scottish government every step of the way.
Sleeping at the wheel.
HH.
Just watched the highlights of Newcastle V Cambridge.
The Cambridge `keeper was superb.

I thought it was proven that Celtic complied.
Just back from the Vale – scoreline flattered Brentford – got to 1-2 and unlucky not to equalise – had them on the rack for 25 mins – gave them too much respect in first half.
Apparently they only brought 1100 supporters out of 8000 crowd.

Totally agree, the pandemic season was pass the parcelled straight over to Neil Lennon, who in the end bore the brunt of all failure. We were suckered over Dubai, a trip sanctioned by the SFA but there was no one to send up for Celtic.
Let’s hope for transparent leadership, though I won’t be holding my breath in the wake of the Bernard Higgins fiasco, maybe we’ll at least get the football decisions right.
Hot Smoked,
I believe the consensus is that Celtic complied despite the negative reporting.
But why dot produce the letters / E Mails to leave EVERYBODY in no doubt.; the way Djokovic has.
HH.
send up = stand up
Lenny was and is a great Celtic man. However, the fitba we “played” last season
indicates that he is not a successful coach. Terrible stuff! Sadly.

That sounds like football in the fabled ` Good ol` Days ` :-))

I probably agree with you but I can imagine how the Media in Scotland would have portrayed Celtic`s portrayal of events.
Anyway, it`s a
Cheerio for now from me.

Can someone explain the ruling that let Dokovic stay?
If you have had covid in last 6 months does that mean you cannot get it again and spread it?
I know a few people that have caught it months apart, so I know you can get it more than once.
Thanks in advance.
D :)
I just read that Dokovic tested positive for covid on 16th December 2021
but on the 17th December 2021 a Serbian newspaper has a photo of him
at some presentation when he was supposedly positive for the virus
Some excuse will be made I am sure
The whole thing reeks of entitlement with him initially being given a loophole
to compete but fortunately border control Australia wasnt having it
Novax Jokovic NOT my favourite sports person or human being.
Entitled and arrogant.

Dortmund, 2-1 down after 87 minutes, score 2 goals in 2 minutes to go up 2-3.
Barca drop 2 points in last minute against Granada.
Switching to Hull – Everton extra time. Hull’s equalizer was a doozy.
Elyounnoussi with extra equalizer for 10 man Southampton at Swansea.
Spectacular long range goal from Andy Townsend. Hull 2- Everton 3.
Shane Long with 102nd minute goal puts Saints ahead 2-3.
Ffs Everton bring on Dobbin before that 16 million pound donkey.

After you have had covid confirmed by PCR and your isolation period is over, a statement appears on your vaccination record saying “immune from covid until ….” and a date six months further on.
I’m not sure what, if any, science they are following by saying that.
I read the UK death rate for COVID has now passed 150k
( even though it was recorded as over 178k on death certificates by Dec 24th 2021)
With death rate increase of nearly 40% on previous week
Omicron is not that dangerous according to some though

A carthorse on before a donkey?
Must say that many of these FA Cup ties where small teams are at home and in giant killing mode against bigger teams are frequently exciting to watch.

I am getting the impression you live in a Bond Villian style lair, with a giant satellite on top of your volcano. that feed your massive bank of tv screens allowing you to watch 108 football matches at the same time,
either that or your outside a radio rentals.
Hynes looks full of beans
Hull still playing ketchup

Good afternoon from an overcast Vale Park.
Kris Ajer starts and Ivan Toney on the bench for Brentford.
Brentford only sold 1500 of their 4000 tickets
Premier League my ass.
——————————————————————————————————————————-
Hi Gene,
Having watched Brentford since they were in League 1 and having always viewed you as a reasonable guy and a kindred lower-league spirit, I was a bit bemused by the above.
Brentford are a small west London club – not financially doped – and the last time I looked were mid-table in the EPL.
We don’t bring a huge support – but we do bring a bit of honesty and credibility.
If Port Vale ever make it to the EPL, will they be taking legions of fans everywhere they go?
All the best to The Vale in their future endeavors.
NORRIEM on 8TH JANUARY 2022 7:52 PM
the modelling based on other countires numbers, gives an expectation that deaths will rise 10-15 days after the increase in cases, but to a lesser %, and affecting unvacinnated persons more than 60% of the time.
unfortunately lots of people will still get sick, but thefully vacinnated have less chance of being seriously ill (as classified by being hospitalised).
the science (based on numbers and severity) does now suggest we are through the worst of it as far as restricting movements and transmittion rates will fall (as 1in 20 people have had it and 80% of population is vaxxed)
these are my unqualified opinions, based on workplace bulletins via national security departments, WHO John Hodgkins and Travelling tabby.
Not the daily mail or daily menances spreading falsehoods.
My honest opinion no reason , other than maybe a new worse varient, will stop the world from opening up.

spotting brentford stadium under the heathrow approach was one of my favorite things when travelling, as was cicling london city and seeing all the new stadiums being constructed.
Tim Malone…..
Re Brentford…….
Might I have met you in the New Inn?

Having been in the 4 boozers at one time or another, you never know – but I was more apt to visit The Princess Royal pre-match.
Did you watch Brentford or did you live in the area?
Tim Malone
Thanks for at least a reaction to my post – All EPL teams are financially doped by sky money just for being there. Of course it turned out that only 1100 Brentford fans turned up – for me that was a poor turn out.
Vale will never reach the EPL – div1 is probably our limit.
What I would say is that I was pleased that the Brentford fans refrained from the usual crass chanting. They were the better side but had a 15 min squeaky bum time.
