I know what you are thinking, Ewan Henderson looked the part. Even more so than his brother, Liam, who also left Celtic for a loan spell at Hibs, before moving to Italy. That laser-precise pass at Tynecastle which set Celtic on their way to an important victory when Neil Lennon picked up the pieces left by Brendan Rodgers pointed to riches ahead.
Unlike many apparent teenage prodigies, Ewan never disappointed, trouble was, he did not play often enough to disappoint. All we know for sure is that Lennon did not rely on him and after six months at Lennoxtown, Ange Postecoglou has moved him on.
Hibs, managed by Shaun Maloney, who worked with the player as a Celtic youth coach, is a good move. He has a realistic chance of commanding a regular first team place in an aspirational side. Celtic released him permanently for little more than an initial loan agreement that will prevent Ewan from facing them for the remainder of this season.
With two midfielders already signed this month, it is no surprise that Ismaila Soro is set to follow Ewan out the door. For reasons that continue to perplex, MLS clubs continue to swoon around the edges of the Celtic squad, with New York Red Bulls reportedly hoping to add Ismaila to a list of former Celtic misfits that includes Patryk Klimala, Cameron Harper and Lewis Morgan, the latter moving from Inter Miami last month.
Another midfielder on the move is 20-year-old summer recruit from Sheffield Wednesday, Liam Shaw, who will spend the remainder of the season on loan at Motherwell. Liam was one of the success stories in the win over Real Betis in December. The move to Fir Park will hopefully give him an opportunity for first team football, it should also give you and me a better chance to assess his potential.
The Dundee pantomime season officially ends this week (oh yes it does) and Dundee are wondering what use they have for our on-loan panto act, Leigh Griffiths. We are short of striker talent and Ange is still new to Scotland, so may be unfamiliar with how things work. The panto season is also over in Glasgow, Leigh’s time at Celtic must also be over.
10 sleeps ’til Hibs.

Millwall remind me of Sevco.
Nasty little club.
Burnley78 – of course if building on the NHS model do it correctly.

Ernie – If something is broken we have to fix it.
We have to start at some point.
Point is there is no desire to. But politicians keep telling us after decades of cuts that NHS is at breaking point.
So if there is a customer/patient base there invest and grow.

BADA BING,

1948 — Medicine in England was set up to support the 20% that were the then upper and middle classes.
Full spectrum coverage with a quality product.
It was also set up to support the working age working class so that production could be maintained.
There was government involvement for pandemics / epidemics / outbreaks that could affect the running of the country and the public mood / realm.
Plus there was a psychiatric dimension with the big / secluded hospitals run by local authority / parish funding — again for the benefit of public “good”.
All the rest was flag days / charity work / god bless you jobs.
Children’s services and geriatric medicine being the two biggies.
Not sure about maternity services and babies — was there a social security element in this after 1909 / 1918?
Consequently England trained enough doctor’s to support this level of service.
Not a full spectrum service that the NHS set out to be.
Consequently England has always had to import doctors and scarcity has pushed up their wages which suits the upper middle class element of the doctoring classes.
Big changes needed — Cuba surprisingly has one of the answers.
Good afternoon from an overcast Vale Park.
Kris Ajer starts and Ivan Toney on the bench for Brentford.
Brentford only sold 1500 of their 4000 tickets

An old one here showing Celtic v Hibs at Celtic Park in August 1957. Peacock, Beattie and Donnelly for Celts and Willie Ormond for Hibs. Unusual for me to see Ormond as a player as he is better remembered as Scotland manager 1973-1977.

SS,
I grew up watching Celtic in those socks. Loved them. Then they changed to all white and I loved them even more. Dead stylish (so I thought).
Reading back I am surprised people are so down on big Christopher J. Occasionally big boys like dykes have given him a hard time. Dykes btw won just about every high ball against the English defence not so long ago as limited as he is he can he a handful. The English internationals are not bad players either.
In the big games he has stood up to be counted time and again. I saw someone say moreorless gave him a hard time in the league Cup final. Need to watch that game again it was ajer who was dragged all over the place Christopher J was the reason we won the game with a dominant preformance in both boxes.
Despite all the positives there will be occasions he losses his man or losses his composure just like every other centreback in planet earth. He is easily the most dominant centreback we have and he is the most comfortable with the ball at his feet in our team. Can’t wait to see the big man back reminding everyone he is a player.
most players seem to get better when they are out long term whereas Christopher J seems to have got worse in people’s minds.

Just realised Anton Dowds has been recalled to his parent club Falkirk today ! Kinda ironic he is recalled from team top of the championship back to his club who are mid table division one !
Just re-watched wan of the best Heavyweight fights ever.
Deontay really wanted it and came up against a Force of Nature. When Deontay knocks down Tyson you see the punch go through the excess weight :) he was carrying (its mental).
Respect to Deontay.

Ange is the Man for Celtic.
European nights under the Lights is where we should be Competing at the very latter stages.
This Club is too Big not to be or not to be.
Looking forward to the game the morra on the pass.
Go Celtic B
Brian F,
I don’t watch Celtic”From the beach”A bit ridiculous.I normally watch from my Patio,on the Beach.Couple of ice cold beers,couple of G And,Ts marvellous
Sorry I can’t make it back to see the games,my Pilot likes the weekend off, family, and like to give the staff time off.Scheduled flights just do not agree with me,and difficult to get the Limo through the crowds to Celtic Park.
Anyway, enjoy your Buckie under Carntyne bridge. The way you see games and players, probably a couple of bottles.
Stephboy,
On Jullien.Well said. When we were under siege, himself and Big Keeper won the game for us.Scored 10 goals in a season as well.
As I have said before, once they make their minds up,no matter what, there is no changing them.
Pathetic.
Brian F,
Sorry,I forgot, stop being an absolute Fud.
Eddie Howe’s that!!!?
WE dodged a bullet there. Happily!!!!
What a performance by close to bottom League 1 Cambridge United, their superb Bulgarian keeper and 39 year old Wes Hoolahan knocking Newcastle and Eddie Howe out of the FA Cup.
It looks as if the Saudis are going to have dig very deep to keep this club in the EPL. Nothing against the Geordies, but I hope they go down, because of their murderous ownership.
And for those interested, Eddie Howe looked lost and anguished on the sideline.
Burnley78
Anton Dowds scored a hat trick on his return to Falkirk today.
Eddie Howe’s reputation continues to nose dive.
Meanwhile that Everton RB Kenny must be some player as he’s keeping their new £16 million signing on the bench.
Had the choice of watching Eintracht vs Dortmund, or Hull vs Everton. Plumped for the latter simply because there is a crowd creating an atmosphere. ( The Newcastle – Cambridge tie had a great crowd atmosphere, helped by a large away support ).
Hull reward me with a goal after 45 seconds! Benitez has opted to play new left back Myolenko with the white Cafu on the bench. He seems to be playing 3 at the back with JoJo Kenny in a more forward position than before.
That awkward moment when for some reason you’re happy Cambridge beat Newcastle.
Dykes saves QPR with equalizer 5 minutes from end of extra time, then scores in penalty shoot out, along with Stefan Johansen to win 8-7.
Unbelievable Tune
Go Annie.

Nobody on here wants Christopher Jullien to fail. Why would Celtic supporters posting on a Celtic site wish that ?
However, we reserve the right to question and to debate if and when he returns and to what standard.
It would be a strange Celtic blog if we didn’t wonder about our 2nd most expensive signing who has been missing for over a full calendar year.
HH.
Just a general perception but it seem to me that the `Jullien Issue` has gone a bit black and white.
My general feeling is that some were saying that a combination of how long the big man has been out and the less than clear reporting of his injury have led to some concern. That seems to have gradually turned into something interpreted as a complete dismissal of Jullien both as a player and as a man . I don`t think that has been the case in the majority of the posts on the matter.
PS
I know I said that I don`t rate him all that highly but that has NOTHING to do with his injury and time out of action..
