Tonight on BBC2 8pm there is repeat showing of the Clydebank Blitz in Bombs that Changed Britain, I have seen it is is worth watching.

    Thanks for the heads up.

My old grandad was a Clydebank defender.

Came over with the Polish Navy as capt of HMS PIORUN and the first thing he done when he landed on Scottish soil was to kneel and pray for the residents of Clydebank. A hero in my eyes. Also he was official interpreter for Jackie jackinovski ( pardon the spelling ) when he came over to sign for hoops.

Just in from the game and haven’t read back, but I gather from the most recent comments that Hendry is getting the blame for their goal?

From out view – and those around me and Wee BGFC felt the same – the goal came from a terrible, sloppy pass from Ntcham while we were pressing high up the park – that left the back line exposed to the Thistle break.

Not Hendry’s greatest fan, but he played well today – very calm and composed for the most part. Got caught on the ball once in the second half mainly due to no other players showing for a pass – dug himself out of that hole, with some good fortune, with three Thistle players on him.

Accet that the game on TV can give a different view, but that’s the way it looked to us.

  3. bhoys, please remember Hendry and Ajer are both young developing players. At the moment they are totally exposed and we are asking a lot of them to fill the jersey. Both of them need an experienced center in there helping them, talking them through the game. Given the situation with boyata (who is not exactly old experience) and comper (brought in to help the youngsters) , we need to be patient and lenient with the lads until an experienced defender is bought.

For me, they are showing character despite OTT criticism and hopefully the boo bhoys who lack football intellect will not get to them!

Felt we thought the game was won once we went 1 up.

    ==================

Said the same to Wee BGFC about 5 minutes before they scored – we started playing as if we thought we were home and hosed. Great clearing header a couple of minutes after the equaliser saved us from going 2-1 down.

Glad we scored soon after – great run and cross from Gamboa to knock it in off Moussa’s leg.

    ————————————————

Yes Danso still here in the best place on the planet.

And I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else, think I’m here to stay now.

    HH. ? ?

  7. DD Yes I am. Just started posting on here again. been lurking for the last few years.

But decided to return. I know from reading some of your posts that you went to Aquinas.

I am 58 , what age are you

  8. C-E-L-T-I-C Celtic.

I see Celtic, Celtic on the ball.

Back once again with another victory.

    Soup herb. ?

    HH. ?

  9. In the hall of fame of the football game, there’s a name that stands alone…

    HH. ? ??

  10. T’was Kerry here, and Kerry there… And Kerry, Kerry everywhere.

And all across the midnight air there rang the war cry Kerry…

  11. Was Kerry right, or Kerry wrong?

Was Kerry weak, or Kerry strong?

Was Kerry short, or Kerry long?

    The Tans remember Kerry.

  12. Our town Tralee they came to see and conquer with their savagry…

But Lynches army made them flee, from our beloved Kerry.

  13. i accept the criticism of Hendry may be over the top. We would all love nothing more than a young Scottish Centre Half to be a success.

But to say he played well today is simply nonsense

  14. glendalystonsils on

Ntcham has not been his usual self the last couple of games. Carrying an injury or letting SMSM nonsense upset him?

Broony seems to have lost a bit of pace ( which he can ill afford to lose) also possibly an effect of the achilles problem.

Both getting caught on the ball too often.

  15. Looks like we will be seeing Neil McCann back in the pundits chair.

Dud of a manger, his credibility should be down the toilet

  16. GLENDALYSTONSILS

Said exact same to my son at game today.

    Something not right with Broony

  17. Has Porto really made a bid for Nitcham,if so take it,I don’t rate him at all,as for young Hendry,I thought he was doing ok,but then he got to cocky, and his confidence went, but like Ajer not good enough to play for Celtic.

  18. !!BADA BING!! on 18TH AUGUST 2018 3:39 PM

BR- Boyata could play on Thursday

    ——-

Not sure what’s happened here. Chris Davies appeared to prepare the groundwork for some kind of reconciliation yesterday. Now Brendan said today he’s back training with the first team on Monday. Might be mind games with the agent or maybe the player has wholeheartedly apologised and Brendan has accepted it. Seems a strange development but will trust the Managers judgement. Trouble is the support will be gunning for him.

  19. Hendy is a 23 years old and has played centreback his whole career, he is not good enough now and he will not be good enough tomorrow, next week, next month or next years.

Ajar is a 20 years old whole has recently been converted into a centreback having spent most of his career as a centreback.

Know whole i would bet on making the grade long term and if we are gonna sign a decent centreback back it should be to partner ajar.

  20. Hendry – confidence is gone. Thistle left him on the ball and he didn’t want it at all, first pass today went out of the park and it went downhill from there. Trouble is he’s being left on the ball and also being told not to kick it long, whilst teams are shutting off the angles to Ntcham and Brown. That’s just on the ball issues, defending isn’t great either. Doesn’t seem to be a good defender first and foremost, making tackles and blocks etc. Long way back from here but may still come good. Needs experience beside him and probably a spell on the bench.

Also as HMS PIORUN Docked in Clydebank, there was a British ship also docked(the name escapes me), it caught fire, as the Brits ran from the ship the Polish Navy ran towards it and extinguished the fire otherwise the ship would have went up in flames. We have a lot to thank the Poles for.

  22. Nye Bevans' rebel soldier on

Enjoyed my rare away day,we were well in control in the first half, should

have scored a couple of more goals though.

We never got going second half until Thistle equalised, not good enough.

A side doesn’t need to do much against us too score a goal, there was

plenty guilty to blame for the goal today it did seem most around me

thought Hendry was at most fault a bit like on here, not sure I agree.

    Great to see Izzy back.

  23. If the offer for Boyata is remotely accurate why in the name of the wee man did BR not agree the deal and then go out and buy 2 central defenders who can actually defend. Boyata is not a good centre half despite rumours to the contrary. Hh

Maybe because he knew the boyata money would be stuffed right into the biscuit tin by lawwell ?

  25. Perhaps from all the CH available currently with the club and targeted ib the transfer market, BR has surmised Boyata is the best of what he will be given to work with

  26. £60 million striker Aubameyang misses an absolute sitter and Chelsea launch a long ball to £60 million Morata who scores. Neither player could lace big Moussa’s boots.

You are spot on, the monkeys are getting gallus.

They need to be put in their place that’s what our boards provisio should be.

By feck if we where in the hole they’re in we would have well buried.HH
