  1. So are we to witness the return of ‘The Prodigal Defender’ seeking redemption after having basically told the Celtic support to GTF? I know we are desperate for a bit of stability in the centre of our defense and that DB is perhaps the best CB on our books ( That in itself is a damning testament to our scouting and signing policy).

Also many on here stating we should have sold him for the alleged £9 mill Fulham offered – question would Brendan have been given £9 mill to spend on a much needed replacement? Or would he have only been given say £3 mill which we will probably get for Boyata in Jan.

  2. Boyata should not and will not play for Celtic again. Big Bobo was cast in the wilderness for alot less.

  3. Back to Basics - Glass Half Full on

    Ron B @ 4pm – agreed.

Social media infiltration is one of a number of strands to undermine Celtic. ( and the easiest)

The increased frequency of X is being sold and Y isn’t playing well type posts is an indicator.

BTW – beware of the transfer market. Granit Xhaka reportedly cost Arsenal £38m. One of the laziest footballers I have ever seen.

Tonight on BBC2 8pm there is repeat showing of the Clydebank Blitz in Bombs that Changed Britain, I have seen it is is worth watching

    Thanks for the heads up.

    ——————-

There are five parts about the Clydebank blitz on YouTube (see link to first below).

  5. Watching Chelsea v Arsenal. There are some highly paid defenders making our defenders look world class.

And the Arsenal forwards need a lesson on how to finish from Griff, Dembele and Rogic. Some shockers.

  6. And I never shall forget the sweet maiden I met, in the valley near Slievenamon…

  7. Interesting how we watch the same game but can have diametrically opposed views.

I’ve often said that many opinions are formed by what the commentary team say. Jack Hendry did lots of good things in the game but was only praised once, for a header. Yet some some of his passes forward, yes he did pass forward, were good. The two things he did wrong were referred to as nausea.

    Turn the sound down.

p.s. I know this will illicit the usual response of “I saw it with my own eyes” and “my opinion influenced by the commentator”. Yet those who were at the game seems to think he had a good game.

To date this season, I don’t think we are a good team.

We have a few good players, but we are not playing like a coordinated unit.

A team should be seamless, but we are disjointed.

We are weak at the back, as has been dissected to bits.

However, I believe our problems stem from midfield.

The one defensive defensive one we have is an aging Brown, whose recovery speed is on the wane.

He also has too much to do as Ntcham appears to push on and gets caught out of position on the break.

All our other midfielders are attackers, who don’t have the mentality to defend or even track back.

I fear this could be a fatal flaw, due to the manager’s attacking philosophy.

  9. Hendry and Ajer are both very good prospects, they may well turn out to be our central defensive partnership for years to come, but at present they should not be playing together in any games whatsoever. They are too similar, they are too inexperienced and they need to be playing beside an experienced centre half who can guide them and talk them through the basics of defending.

As the manger said, it’s not rocket science.

Ntcham in Brown’s position,Rogic in Ntcham’s position and two

    strikers…………….or is that blasphemy?

That was always going to be a ‘hiding to nothing ‘ game

    So it proved…

Lot’s of work to be done improving speed of thought/pass

    Nye,

Rogic hasn’t got the aggressive defensive side to his game.

We need someone who can drive from midfield and still get back to do a defensive job.

That’s what makes losing Mc.Ginn all the more galling. He would have been a natural in that position.

I don’t think we have such a player or players like that at the club, as I think Brendan thinks that defence is an optional extra.

    I sincerely hope I’m wrong.,

  13. Wits Catch yourself on amigo. The Glasgow and Belfast bhoys have been on it since midday. Hh

  14. FFS,our manager,Brendan, who can do no wrong, and is not to blame for any of the shit we havehad to endure this past week,is now telling us that Boyata is now welcome back in the side.In what fekin Universe.?

We have a weeguy playing today,Gamboa, who also played very well, probably better,at the WC than Boyata, who has never really featured in any of BRs teams, but who has trained on,been ready to play at any given time for the team, and never let us down.He will be droppedagain this week, aftera great performance today.

How he,and a good few others must be thinking,is anyones guess.Rank bad management, and a disgraceto Celtic FC,to let this guy pull on the Hoops again. So much for PL and his bean counting.A guy in his last year we can take 8-9 million for,a guythat feigned injury in our biggest game in our history, money wise, being allowed to stay on the say so of BR.

I know who has been at fault all along here,in this situation, and its not,PL.

  15. SUPERSUTTON,

Keep saying it.Every game,CHs that cost the earth, making shocking mistakes. One of our boys makes a bad pass, all hell breaks lose.So so many just dont have a fekin clue.

  16. Brendan keeping the door open to Boyata would indicate to me that he doesn’t think we’ll be getting an experienced CB in this window. That being the case then I’ll accept his judgement.

  17. succulentlambstinks on

I honestly don’t know what kolo toures remit is at the club. Was it the old pals act with BR ?

Kennedy is just the waterboy I guess.

Performance indicators clearly indicate both should be sacked forthwith.

  18. Oh dear. Turkeybhoys cloth cap is being strangled again. Now turkeybhoys if you try and breathe mayb3 you will realise that this is his a prelude to selling bkyata for as much money as possible. Which will please you and Peter together.

Now let go of the cap. Give it a rest. Breathe.

Stop trying to deflect criticism from lawwell. You may think he is a good. Many of us think he is a flawed accountant….

  19. Tutkeybhoy at 7:22

Modern football means the players hold all the aces and BR knows that.

We simply can’t afford to let DB wither on the vine and go for SFA in January.

Play him, sell him, replace him.

If it is true and Brendan is going to welcome Boyata back to the squad for our Europa play off game he in my opinion is making a rod for his own back. If Boyata and his agent are allowed to get away with there shinanigins Brendan will lose respect of most of the players and much of the support. Discipline is key to any team sport and once you lose it you can never get it back so I hope Brendan sticks to his guns and makes Boyata continue to train with the youngsters and that he never pulls on a Celtic jersey again.H.H.

  21. Boyata is a professional football player who is probably trying to do what is best for himself and his family however his disingenuous behaviour and the subsequent cost to the club should leave no one in any doubt that the man is unfit to ever wear the hoops again and imho should be moved on ayt the eArliest opportunity.

  22. I recall the club bending over backwards to accommodate the ego of Mark Viduka who transpired to be a great football player and rather unpleasant individual who cared not a jot for Celtic.
