Raith call out SFA plans for Appellate Tribunal

1262

You wonder if Ally McCoist rues the day he called for the public outing of members of the SFA Judicial Panel which imposed a player registration ban on his club.  One judge, one journalist and one football club, Raith Rovers, were soon outed.  Crossing the Fifers was a mistake.

Raith Rovers are now pointing out the same facts we have discussed here for months:

“We are also concerned that there has not as yet been an opportunity for clubs to receive legal advice from the SFL and/or debate the potential consequences on the smooth running of our league in the event that the Courts are asked to annull/strike down any of the corporate transactions that have led to the current position of Sevco Scotland Ltd as owners of certain assets of the Rangers oldco.

“Indeed, the position as regards the potential sanctions to be applied by the Scottish FA via its Appellate Tribunal has also still to be bottomed out.”

In short, Sevco’s ownership of Ibrox may be nullified by the courts and the SFA will be forced to subvert judicial oversight if it wants to guarantee Sevco participate in football next season.

While these concerns were only expressed online, the SFA were able to ignore the issue, but with Raith Rovers asking the questions Mr Regan will have to look SFL clubs in the eye and tell them what he’s going to do with Lord Carloway.

Lurgan 53

Dwyer O’Hagan, or Lurgan 53 as he was known here, passed away on Wednesday after an illness stretching back to last year.  Dwyer enjoyed our triumphs and defeats on the blog for many years and will be sadly missed by us all.  Our condolences to his family and friends.

Thank you very much for that ……… Typical burley …….. He doesn’t see anything wrong with what RIL did over 20+ years, since he has a similar arrogant, supremisist mentality …… Well, he, and the rest of them, will get their answer on Friday 13th ………and then the Liquidators, FTT, Fraud Squad etc will ‘enlighten’ them all further…….

Think burley will rue the day he wrote that article…… Will be career limiting also, if the Sunday Mail retain any measure of integrity / morals…..

Like all fools, he doesn’t know where to draw the line ……. This goes beyond the boundaries of tabloid commentary / opinion……….

I’ve never seen the midges so bad and typically I’d left my Avon repellent at home.

We spent the day at Benglais Farm when we did the WHW last summer. Great day, incredible scenery and wildlife and the Guinness was wonderful!!

ABSOLUTELY …..l haven’t attended an away game, including Hampden, in 20 years, since I felt corruption / bigotry was rife ….. And I was correct, big time…..

  5. For all the midges fanatics, I work a lot on rural telecom sites, I found Superdrugs own brand called ‘buzz off’ the most effective. Comes in a pump spray lemon scented. Repells all forms of orc also.

  7. Afternoon guys & gals!

Firstly, RIP Dwyer! Sorry to hear of his passing.

Just chilling out here with wee Oscar here in his hospital room. He is in great form considering!

He completed what will hopefully be his last ever chemotherapy yesterday!!! He gets his stem cells back tomorrow then he just needs time to recover. Hopefully we can keep him clear of any bugs or infections which with his immune system in its current state could be fatal.

With a bit of luck he will be clear of neuroblastoma after this. Then we need to take him abroad for the immunotherapy which can stop it returning.

Oscar is wAtching his new Ben & holly dvd while I am watching the tennis. Good luck to Andy Murray!

    Hope you are all well.

Now if I am not mistaken Andy Murray’s dad was originally from the Kilsyth area, and very much a Celtic Bhoy. Was a pretty good footballer too. Best of luck to Andy today, might need to win the first set to get him on the road to victory.

  11. I’ve read and re-read that Burley article and I must admit to still being in a state of shock. It is utterly stunning.

Apart from the postings on FF itself, I can’t think of a more arrogant, self seeking, mind-numbingly stupid piece of diahorrea.

Please, please, please send that article to each and every SFL club chairman. I am sure it will persuade all who are having doubts.

Just as a response to Mr Burley, I suggest that indeed there should be no vote.

I think the SPL have already spoken on behalf of vast majority of supporters in Scotland. Let’s just leave it at that. Goodbye, good riddance and take surly Burley with you.

How about ‘The Walking away dude’?

  16. George Connelly signed for Celtic from Tulliallan Juniors in March 1966, and it was not long until he made his debut, later in the same year on January 12, 1966, aged just 16. Jock Stein sent him onto the Parkhead pitch just before the start of the the European Cup Winners’ Cup quarter-final first leg against Dynamo Kiev, and Connelly is said to have thrilled the crowd with an astonishing display of keepie-uppy, dancing around the ground while keeping the ball off the turf – his average at this art was said to be 2,000 non-stop. Already people were being dazzled by his skills.

    The definitive answer.

If memory serves, he went from the centre spot to one goal mouth, then up to the other goal mouth and back to the centre spot.

Celtic Park was fun in those days and it was to get better.

I have often thought that if we hadn’t been cheated at Anfield, we would have won that cuto.

However, if we had, would we have gone on to win the Big One the following year?

I’m not so sure. Teams would have been more wary of us and our underdog tag wouldn’t have been as great.

All speculation, of course, so I’ll settle for the one that we won.
