At a media conference a few minutes ago Rangers administrators Duff and Phelps today told the world they have accepted the only unconditional bid got the club, from American Bill (Proxy) Miller. Mr Miller plans to start a new company to operate his ‘Rangers’ franchise. Duff and Phelps had the affront to suggest that the old club, established in 1872 and incorporated in 1899, would somehow manage to convince HMRC to accept a CVA, despite there being zero money available to them.
This will not and cannot happen. The last chance to save Rangers Football Club has gone.
Unfortunately for the UK taxpayer, they are about to take a bath for around £75m worth of medicines, school books, Help for Heroes and care services as Rangers spent all their tax money chasing football trophies.
Celtic Quick News told you this day was coming in our article on 3 October 2008. We didn’t know about the EBT case, ‘the bank running Rangers’, Craig Whyte or Bill Miller, but the available financial information made it clear that the club had debt obligations it would be unable to meet or renew.
Anyone from the boardroom of that club who claims surprise at these events is a complete fool. We should thank their media cheerleaders for refusing to analyse this issue while there was still time to do something about it.
More later, I have three months’ work to catch up on.

Celtic to score two or more goals in the 1st half of tonight’s game – 11/4 with Skybet.
Or something in between?
So far we have D & F claiming that Miller is claiming….
There needs to be clarification.
celticinthesun
SPL are saying that as long as they do so this season then it will be ok.
Newco cannot be punished for Oldcos dual contracts
Hail Hail
Hibs in for Messi and Xavi for a trillion-gazillion!

I am not haranguing ernie, far from it.
He has been offered a chance to talk to the clubs suits, I would love the chance to do that, as would many others no doubt.
If he want’s to call it a masonic trait, his choice, maybes said suits could allay his fears, I will say again, what has he to lose ?

This needs to be sorted out by the authorities, Fraud Squad, SPL, SFA, HMRC etc ….. Miller has not purchased them yet, and until he does, everything is up in the air ……once things become clearer, the Celtic Board, and other Boards, will assess the implications for their Clubs …… Patience is required at the moment ……..
THE EXILED TIM @15 25
Surely Peter can tell all of us exactly what is happening , all he has to do is issue a statement..
Alternatively , maybe Paul 67 could arrange for a gathering of 500 CQNers to hear what Peter has to say . I think Ernie might be willing to attend that.
TET
the club has EVERYTHING to lose if it chooses only to talk to a select few
It is especially worse if they ONLY want or are prepared to talk to those that they wish to stifle.
AMAZED THAT YOU CANT SEE THAT ????????
Hail Hail
Motherwell say oil has been discovered under Firpark and have offered Chelsea 18 billion for the first team squad, payment as and when it gets pumped up.

if you buy your season ticket you are showing your support for celtic AND only celtic.
to protest against what is happening – do not go to away games, do not go to games at hampden, cancel sky, espn – then those complicit in this pay without innocent parties (ie celtic the club you love surely) being punished.
simples.
although personally i blame Lawell.
For it all.

where have you heard this.
From D & F?
i am hoping celtic being quiet is a good thing as i have said i would be astounded if
celtic and peter do not know whats going on,this whole scenario might just bring
everything down authorities refs msm its what is really needed if we want a level
playing field so i am hoping thats the real aim allow the estabishment to destroy
themselves.

Surely you can’t just hide away assets out of the reach of creditors, introduce an arbitrary amount of cash and say – right lads, divvy this up or GIRUY?

why don’t we just buy messi, xavi, iniesta, cristiano ronaldo and aguero?
ok, so it’ll put us £400M in the brown stuff, but… guys…
i think i see a way out of that…
what we do is, put them in an incubator (ronaldo will be a tight squeeze) then wait until the tea lady at albion rovers tells us that’s fine (should take about 6 days) and then barca, real, and man city will go “drat, outfoxed by them pesky business genii in glasgow…”
i have one, serious, question though.
if it was sosimple for them to absolve themselves of all moral resposibility…
why didn’t they go out and sign better players than the dross they currently have?
they bulldozed morality for kirk broadfoot!!!
It’s looking more and more likely that whilst we stand around talking, this is all getting done quietly (or not so quietly – they are shouting from the rooftops what they intend to do ) in the background.
I’m going to go out on the limb and make a prediction.
They will be in the SPL next season, debt free, as if none of this happened.
All of the work of the last four years, them winning titles whilst we preached financial prudence, all of us waiting for the other shoe to drop … it was a waste of time. Scottish football is about to pull off the mask and reveal the rotting visage of Bill Struth.
Unless our club plays its hand, and plays it brilliantly, and publicly, and this is the time for doing our own shouting from the rooftops, it’s all over ladies and gentlemen.
I do not trust opposition in private. I have too much long experience in politics seeing it. That’s how grubby stitch-ups are done. We need other fans on our side, other clubs, UEFA’s eyes on the whole stinking mess.
Silence might as well be acquiescence. Back room opposition is useless.
This is OUR club, OUR sport, OUR money …. and we have a right to know what’s being done and said in OUR name.
SoT
I have no idea why the club are still silent, they will speak when they feel the time is right no doubt.
It’s just not an oportunity I would turn down personally.
So what’s the news, been busy this week thus hardly been on!
Is it bye bye Rangers finally?

Is ernie being harangued? If so, it is the most ridiculous of responses to , arguably, the most clinical and perspicacious of posters on here.
PS Is it to do with non-remewal of ST? If so , see my posy @ 15.20

Posy? Very niceo:-)
Baffling statement on the BBC. I thought Whyte owned 85?% of the shares in RFC ?
“Joint administrator Paul Clark has explained to BBC Scotland that Craig Whyte, who bought Rangers for £1 last year, will receive nothing from Bill Miller, saying it was “not necessary to get his approval”. In effect, it is Duff & Phelps selling the club’s assets to the American”
Playing Devil’s Advocate for a moment, the current situation at Rangers is quite a mess and there isn’t doesn’t seem to be a particularly clean solution on the table. The best thing that could have happened from a sporting perspective is if Rangers had never cheated the taxman and bank in the first place and remained on an even financial keel with a commensurate reduction in their on-field success.
Based on this, perhaps an acceptable outcome for Celtic would be:
– All titles and cups won by Rangers during their ruinous years to be awarded retrospectively to their rightful owners
– Rangers to carry on in the SPL, but operating on a sound financial basis, spending only what they earn
– Suitable sanctions taken to dissuade any others from going down this route.
So would we be prepared to settle for Celtic being awarded 7 SPL titles and various cups, taking our total to 50, Rangers being hit with non-fatal sanctions such as fines, points penalties or transfer embargoes and the SFA and SPL implementing strict financial fair play rules to prevent excessive spending in future?
Awenaw
He promised specifically that rangers would receive no points penalties and no further punishment if they liquidated, formed a newco and took Old co’s share?
Awe Naw
So you are basicly saying that Paul is party to the suits wanting to stifle any dissenters, after all it was at his request ernie talks to the suits.
I can see many things, infact I see too many things.

even under that analogy you would still have to pay alimony ;-)

see this bill millster guy he is minted. he sells they toe truck things. any of you lot seen how much they sell for. i doubt it. this is the acapulco here. it is domesday. he is going to pump millions into them and they will come back stronger than ever just like i have been saying that nane of youse would listen to. he has started that due delictations that took whyte ages. it would have been better for us if brian kennedy had got the club. that boy is rooked. you dont earn alot playing the fiddle and i thought he was a west ham fan anyway so i dinnae know why he was sniffing about the rangers. sandy jardine alisdair and walter have all said this millster guy is good news for the rangers. these guys know their turnips. we are heading doon the lavvy pan and they are on the upsendensee. this might be our last title for many years troops so enjoy it

If we speak up now we will also get support from the fans of other SPL clubs.
Nice one Declan!…..keep ’em coming. :-)

It is not so baffling …. shares are in a company. If the Company owner has its assets sold from under his nose byDuff & Phelps due to being in Administration then their is nothing he can do about it
Hail Hail
I wish we would all clam down.
Duff & Phelps and Bill Miller and Whyte are professional shysters
Neil Doncaster is trying to save his job or at least give the impression that he is trying his level best to save Rangers.
Hector will not allow it to happen.

If you talk to someone face to face, you know if they are telling you porkies, that is a chance I would jump at, that’s all I am saying, no hidden agenda, no casting aspertions.
Thanks Awe Naw, but haven’t we been told ( and believed ) that nothing could be done without the agreement of Whyte ? and that his shareholding was critical in all this ?
EXILED .
Different strokes for different folks .
Personally , I have no desire to have a wee chat with Peter . I take the view that Peter shouldn’t say anything to me that he wouldn”t say to any other Celtic supporter.
Personally , I think Ernie is absolutely right to decline Paul’s offer.
