Fair result. We were outplayed for long spells. Goals were soft ones to lose though. Hope we see something closer to first XI in next game.

Only caught the last half hour. Not a team I would expect to see in any competitive match as the season progresses. The defending was poor. Big Chris J took about a dozen games to get going when he first joined us. He looked well off it from what I saw. Right back was poor. No control in midfield.
Minutes in the legs, lessons learned no doubt and we move on.

Aye we still have a fair bit to go yet, but not downhearted or even close to it, we have the makings of a very very good team there, just need a couple of first team starters in and away we go, it’s not an easy task getting all the pieces of the puzzle to fit, I trust as the season goes on Ange will figure it out.

Positives-
We nearly won
No obvious injuries
Both teams each half played the same style
Some players played well
It’s only a pre-season not-too-friendly match
Negatives
They broke our press fairly comfortably
We struggled to break theirs- too many passes to players less than a yard away
Defending crosses/corners weakened as the game went on
Our passes were too easily intercepted
We are fouling too much- even accounting for their play acting
We nearly lost
On to Ostrava, Blackburn, Legia and Norwich

Celtic looked very fit in the first game for most of those players and scored three good goals. Normal defensive pairing wouldn’t have lost the cross ball goals, great work out for AP’s side against a good side who are still horrible after all these years.

It definitely is now. You can’t make out the players standing around on the pitch. I think it will be abandoned. God knows how the crowd will react. There’s a fair number of Berzzzz and Sunderland fans in attendance.
