It will surprise no one that Uefa have charged our football club with “the displaying of an offensive banner and setting off of fireworks [sic]by fans”, this action was as inevitable as the dawn. At least some of our number believes setting off flares in a football stadium is a reasonable action and that provoking European football’s governing body is a smart thing to do.
In terms of protest, “**** Uefa” is not quite up there with Martin Luther’s Thesis or what we’ve witnessed in the Arab world this year. It’s simple rebellious behaviour, which some of us are compelled by in our teens and a few take a long time to shake off.
Forget calls to self-police, I’ve never seen it work with a football support. Ever. If you think you are going to convince anyone the folly of profane banners, flares or even IRA chanting at a football game, save your breath. Those who are up for the protest (whatever the subject is) are more likely to find your call for restraint as complicity.
This series of protest and consequence will run for years, will split the support and damage Celtic. Neither the club nor the support has the leadership to do anything about it. Copy and paste the thoughts you write on the subject, you can use them again without having to retype.

A racist throwback to the days of the readily accepted ‘No Irish’.
Absolutely.
‘Avin a larf ‘ I’m sure it would be explained as.

The anti-Irish thing is still prevelant today as it ever was, [ in england ] but unlike sectarian land, the Irish are not seen as a threat, the english like to lord and make fun over them, as they do with the Scots, Welsh etc. they see it as “banter”.
Last time I was in england, had a beer or two in the shires, and the No Irish posters were still in every bar I ventured into.
The english are becoming more rabid by the day, what price they allow scotland it’s independance, jeezo ernie will be having palpitations.
Only my opinion mind, can only see what I seen.

“The civilised world has rejected their primitive politics because……….they didnae work.
ANYWHERE.”
Could you please tell me where this civilised world is…?? … I want to migrate to it…….(no, sorry, migration isn’t allowed if you are Irish ….only if you are Scottish / English / Welsh……)
Please remember that celebrating your roots is not a crime. Racial discrimination against a minority is a crime the last time I checked the law of our civilised Country…….

Hi macjay1,
Looking forward to the game next week m8?
lassiebeattie ,
grandma lived in Ashton View , before moving to Brucehill . spent my ‘bad’ years on the altar at Notre Dame – was saddened to see the state of it recently.
Take it you went to St Pats – there’s a few guys on here who’ll willingly swap stories.
As for myself , I get back down as often as i can as the family still live in the area.

Setanta Oz didn`t show the St. J. game, much to my displeasure. But managed to catch up,thanks to the efforts of Bigjie et al.
The team on the field are starting to look like the real deal.
My major concern is the team of the field.:-) as you may have gathered.
At work the noo.
Great to talk to you.
Catch you later.

I am inclined towards thinking the story is just uneducated guesswork / hope of the sort you can find on any messageboard.
Unless someone has specifics, it is probably best to drop the subject.

I saw that. It was RTC original post (which he appears to have deleted) that I was hoping you might have seen.

Good post
A Christmas Eve game is always a banana skin, easy for the fans, team, and management, to take our eyes off the ball.
If we come through unscathed, we have the chance to avenge the Ibrokes reverse, with a win on Wednesday week.
We really do have the better players, but have many more obstacles to overcome, than merely football ones. Calum Murray played by the
book, in a semblance of neutrality and sent three of them off, the last time they were in our stadium.
The outcome is Willie Collum, – lets hope he doesn’t get a chance to be a feature in the game.

Catch you later m8,
The team have grown up a bit this season and Sundays performance after a Hard away game was a Brilliant sign of a developed Mental Toughness Neil has been carefully nurturing amongst all the stuff he has had to deal with.
I tell you what, and this would be something else, if Neil can get his type of winning mentality into these quality players we are in for an absolute treat as Celtic fans IMO.
Very exciting times ahead.

It has been deleated.
He did say it concerned the non playing staff at the hun, and said it was only a rumour, and if you believe that :>)
I think he was a calling, and I have no doubt tomorrow will bring about a revelation or two :>)

Some people calling for Unity within Celtic – what do we have to unify around with our Board?

The mere mention of his name makes my heart sink. I remember that night at Hamilton where he booked young Niall for diving (definite penalty) and the “offside” goal as well. One of his many brutal performances, it would not surprise me if some goat people have incriminating stuff on him that are fully working him with emotional blackmail…. RE Teacher after all. That is how high level Politicians are controlled after all.
That night at Hamilton did have one amazing memory however and it was Emilio and how amazing he played in that game. I’d have to say it was possibly his best game in a Celtic top (high acclaim).
You are totally correct as usual Mr BSR, take the ref out of the equation. I’d love it if we didn’t have to but I reckon we might need to and I still think we will be able to.
Come on You Bhoys in Green is ready to take Celtic Park to the next level.
We will beat them on 28th.Initially it will be a battle but once we gain control of possession and get our passing game going we will emerge with a comfortable win.
I suspect a victory similar to last season’s 3-0 pumping.
We will witness the usual dark arts from FPLG and his team, willingly assisted by Gollum and co.,but the paucity of flair and ability at the fat sneak’s disposal will offset this.
The main thing is we don’t make the same errors we did last season after putting the evil ones to the sword, drop points immediately afterwards.
Once we’ve achieved this it is my belief we will then motor to the title without much to scare us along the way.
If it so happens that whilst we are achieving this Dignity & Bids FC find themselves in financial hell then all the better. They deserve every bit of pain they get.And some.
FOREVERANDEVER!!!

For Neil Lennon and what he done for us last season, he literally put his life on the line for Celtic.
If the Celtic Board allow RangersNewco back in then I will be with you m8, it would not be acceptable, the TV deal money is a pittance so there is no excuse for sanctioning it. I will be wanting the Board removed if they even acquiesce in the slightest. It is morally wrong more than anything else.
In the meantime we have to stay united IMO to face them down.
From Sun
And Paul Brennan, of fans’ website Celtic Quick News, has urged all his fellow supporters to stamp out the bad behaviour.
Brennan told SunSport: “I don’t think there is any real danger of fans being banned from games for this type of provocation.
“But it was a stupid banner, it was pointless.
“It’s caused the whole club a lot of distress.
“It has detracted from a terrific performance and I absolutely urge supporters to stamp this sort of behaviour out.
“I am not sure anything I, Neil Lennon or Peter Lawwell says will alter their views.
“But I would strongly urge every supporter to remember and think of the reputation of the club.”

We have been playing well in the last few weeks and I always knew we would come strong it was the injuries that hampered us and I knew their injuries would come soon enough and their luck has to run out soon.

What’s yer thoughts on bringing izzy back into contention for the game on the 28th lads?
Do you think it’s to soon?
The reason I ask this is because I sent a text to my m8 and he said no it’s to soon but I think we should get him in.

I don’t know what would be the situation when theres only 11 teams, Celtic hold every Ace here and they better play their cards correctly.
From the minutes of the meeting with the Celtic Trust the police name the songs they’ll arrest you for. Now they’ll stop singing it. Aye right!
The ACC then recommended that the Celtic groups present should formally complain regarding the Hibs game on 29th October and that the police will then get back to them. He indicated that his main concern was to stop young people who otherwise would not be involved with police, from getting into trouble. The ACC said that his understanding – coming from the Procurator Fiscal (PF) in Glasgow – is that if you sing ‘Ooh, ah up the ‘RA’ you will be prosecuted for Breach of the Peace. He was then informed that the PF office is dropping the religious aggravation part of the charge because this chant is nothing to do with religion and he concurred. When questioned he said that no other chant or song, sung en masse by the Celtic fans is currently seen as being something for which you would be charged at a football ground. However, he said that could change under certain circumstances. He also said that the police will continue to report cases to the PF office and wait for their feedback as the police need guidance on what songs are actionable. When asked how many Not Guilty verdicts on a particular charge relating to a particular song (where the accused admits singing it but pleads Not Guilty to a Breach charge) would it take before the Police stop arresting people for it he replied ‘One’.
Agreed m8 but the way people see it and I will refer to Desmond and lawell here, it’s money to them and they will say without them Scottish football dies and I think this is sad because we have been keeping our own house in order and they have been cheating their way to titles and the luck they’ve got I wouldn’t bet against them winning the Taxcase but I pray they lose it.
I want them out of Scottish football for good and I know this will sound strong m8 but I hate them.
Sorry for all those rteposts earlier. Still coming to terms with posting via mobile.
Right lads peace out and god bless.
Remember this isn’t the end it’s just the beginning.
I think, having read back, that many mis-interpreted what I was trying to say. In essence , I’m saying that, no matter my opinion, it’s the Celtic PLC’s prerogative to invite whoever it wishes into Celtic Park. I, as an individual, am happy to oblige.
