Relax and you’re finished, Belfast awash with Seville spirit

655

The day after the opening Champions League qualifier of the season can get a bit tasty on the blog but business has been pedestrian since last night’s professional performance by the men in hoops.  If you wanted to be pushy, you could point to a couple of glimpses of goal which fell Cliftonville’s way as a result of Celtic defenders being dragged out of position, but that’s about the measure of an unfamiliar defence at any time.

Congratulations to Georgios Samaras, who scored in Celtic’s first five European away games last season and obliged again yesterday.  A remarkable record for a player who is never employed as a penalty box striker.

It would also be tardy not to congratulate Celtic and Cliftonville supporters on their exemplary behaviour throughout the day.  After recent disturbances in Belfast there were fears that a group of travelling Celtic supporters could find trouble in the city but the casual observer could be forgiven if he thought we were in Seville again.

Maybe Belfast council should invite us over every July to spread a bit of cheer. We do football very well, in all respects.

Neil Lennon can now kick back and relax with a formality of a second and the next round not for another…. 12 days!!  Maybe not.  12 days is not a lot of time to do anything in football, so every day, including match day against Cliftonville, will need to be meticulously planned to ensure we are ready to face an opponent who could well be midseason. Relax, and you’re finished in this business.

No, you don’t need to make a plan. Distance from Moscow to St. Peter is only 600 kilometres and the trains goes thre less than 4 hours. You can start early morning and be back to Moscow in the night.

I’ve stopped now for eleven months, I had tried previously countless times but always the drug called my name and I succumbed time and time again.

Last August I bought some electronic fags and hey presto that was me, the only thing is I’m now hooked on the electronic fags! Having said that they’re harmless and no smelly hands, breath and clothes. Never felt better. Give them a try, what have you got to lose?

TRT they’re available in Spain, I bought some in La Canada Marbella in springtime.

I’ve got a place not too far from you, missing it big time.

It probably gets colder here in the winter than it does in most of scotland, -15 is normal for a few weeks, that’s cos we are so high up in the mountains, higher than Ben Nevis and we are on the flat bit, snow on the peaks all year round.

Had a couple of days of rain in the past 7 weeks, bliss it was.

  17. TET, I’ve got an apartment in Riviera, Mijas.

Give the electronic fags a bash, as I said you’ve got nothing to lose.

Another thing eleven months after stopping I am exactly the same weight as I was when I smoked. No feeling of missing out with my electronic fags, no cravings for old fashioned fags and the electronic fags are cheaper than the coffin nails.

I’m not sure if this has been covered before on CQN but while I was watching the friendly against Greuther Furst, I had a feeling that we had encountered their striker before, Nikola Djurdjic who scored the first two goals for Greuther. Hei actually played for Helsinborgs (on loan) last season. He obviously didn’t do the business then against us but he was signed just before the first game. I thought he played a blinder against us for Greuther. He’s 27 and will be approaching his best years. I think he may well be worth punt if we sell Hooper.

  22. Celticbhoy, thanks, much appreciated, hate the damage and sadness that cigs have caused. Often feel like going up to youngsters I see smoking and feel like educating them but this is not possible in our society – thankfully I was so into football and Celtic that I was the only one in my family who did not smoke but really miss my big sister. Remember silly things like counting the embassy coupons for my mum so she could get some useless gift.
