Celtic have NOT agreed a deal to take Patrick Roberts on loan next season. Sources within the club expressed surprise at reports claiming as much. The club have been working with Manchester City and the player for some months, in an attempt to secure the services of the England youth international.
A loan deal is only one of the options being discussed. But while Celtic look the most likely destination for Patrick, there is still work to be done.
Celtic, who will soon be able to offer guaranteed Champions League football to prospective players, are active in a number fronts.

I wouldn’t swap him for any other manager in world football. Truthfully. Mourinho, Pep..no one.
Does anyone think that any other manager would ‘get’ Celtic the way Brendan does? Would they live and breathe Celtic? Would they have that passion and have the willingness to try and improve players both individually and collectively in the way BR does?
I don’t know what Brendan earns but he should be the best paid at the club. 15 months or less in the job he’s brought in ( or soon will have) £60m plus in CL revenue. Took the assets to levels that were unthinkable a year ago:
Moussa, Armstrong Dedryk, Broony, are examples. There are more and there will be even more, because every player on our books is improving to levels we didn’t think possible.
We are now established as a top 32 European side. It may well be top 16 soon. Outside the mega money teams, Real, Barca et al we may soon be best of the rest. On what? Less than £15m?
It’s incredible. I’m ready for retirement soon. If BR is retained, I could spend my retirement living out my days watching the best times in our history outwith the lions.
