Reports of Roberts loan to Celtic denied

509

Celtic have NOT agreed a deal to take Patrick Roberts on loan next season.  Sources within the club expressed surprise at reports claiming as much. The club have been working with Manchester City and the player for some months, in an attempt to secure the services of the England youth international.

A loan deal is only one of the options being discussed.  But while Celtic look the most likely destination for Patrick, there is still work to be done.

Celtic, who will soon be able to offer guaranteed Champions League football to prospective players, are active in a number fronts.

  1. Delighted in the short term that Stuart Armstrong will wear the hoops for another season but think we may have set a dangerous precedent for future contracts.

Next season Stuart will be in the same situation as last week, diminishing value on a < 12 month contract. Good for the player, good for the buyer but not sure about the club?

A 4 year contract, everyone is a winner and if a significant bid comes in we sell regardless.

Hope Stuart's form can reach / regain a consistently high level, if he drops then I suspect the support may be less forgiving.

I guy I work with is a Celtic season ticket holder. He said to me that he can’t believe I post on CQN, knowing my politics and views.

He thinks it is full of right wing, Celtic board apologists. I invited him to a hootenanny to prove him wrong. Unfortunately, he declined.

To see ourselves as others see us. :)

We don’t care what the wallopers say? and certainly not what they say about the Celtic Board

who from time to time, we’ll all differ with.

On signing players which is where I came in – it has never been a better board IMHO

No – get back here, you’re an older walloper

We have an absolutely brilliant board…I just wish Donald Trump would join…we’d soon have wee Paddy signed up long term…

Then again, maybe not. They only think about bonuses and heated driveways…get Putin and Nicolas Maduro on board, then we’ll win the Champs League…

    How’s that for balance?

It’s the same board who brought in Delia and Rogers.

    Shite to Champagne.

They messed up. They pulled a beauty out the hat.

Mostly, that’s the reality. They get things right and wrong.

Ultimately though they think we’re customers.

    Customers.

The thousands who joined in on Wednesday night weren’t customers.

  10. Being ‘abroad’ just now, i never made the game on Wednesday. Just seen a photograph of the teams before kickoff and Mikel Lustig is screeching and stretching to the extreme before the game! What an attitude, brilliant! We still need another right back, Ralston maybe, but Lustig epitomises everything about being a Celtic player (Swedish KT, albeit not quite as good, then again he’s getting to be on a par with Danny).

Great result the other night but still a lot of room for improvement. Gordon is hopeless at

‘ finding’ a teammate with a left pass ‘chip’. Both Bitton and jozo had a few misplaced passes also. All forgotten as we went through… I don’t think so.

  12. Zbyszek, TOSB, PETEC, thank you, I posted my thanks to those earlier.

Had a fantastic day out at Celtic Park with the other love of my life Mrs. LB.

    HAMILTONTIM:

I agree with you on Stuart Armstrong, the length of Contract would suggest he see his long term future away from Celtic Park.

On Paddy, don’t give up on a permanent move.

    Keep the Faith!

I am conscious of the other internet and every day opinion of CQN, and its part of why we all come back here.

I’m proud to post here exclusively, with daily Celtic thoughts its good how CQN made its name through charity, rules, and definitely the civility absent on most other internet stops associated with our club.

We even have our wallopers broad church, green, grey brigade, left wing, right wing or straight down the middle.

Some other Celtic pr**k might have a different opinion but by and large, we can all post here happily and get away with our opinion largely unscathed?

Do they suggest better sites to frequent? Or offer the sensible option, don’t use the internet?
