Before the second leg against Maribor I went into detail about how important it was for Ronny Deila to rest his players. He did, we lost to Inverness and players spent the bulk the Maribor game looking like strangers.
Since then players’ propensity to look strangers has increased, with the arrival of Stefan Scepovic, John Guidetti and Wakaso Mubarak, not to mention the anticipated return of Aleks Tonev. Ronny has some serious decisions to make.
Does he flood the team with all this new blood, or allow them time to build match fitness and familiarity? New blood is badly needed but so is team cohesion.
Any decision for Aberdeen will be made with the visit to Salzburg one week today in mind. On paper, away to the top seed is our most difficult Europa League game, so we have to be ready.
My expectation is that three, if not all four, of the above will feature heavily on Saturday, which will inform Ronny ahead of his choices for Europe.
Fancy some comfy seats at the Aberdeen game and helping Mary’s Meals as well? The Club’s main sponsor Magners have again offered us two premium seat tickets for the Jock Stein Stand, which you can win by answering the following question:
Who do Celtic play in the lunchtime kick off on Saturday, 13 September 2014?
Optionally….. if you have £1 available, please donate £1 to Mary’s Meals at this MyDonate page, which sends your £1 straight to Mary’s Meals, then send me your confirmation email, with your contact details to celticquicknews@gmail.com Competition closes noon on Friday, so get your entries in now and watch your inbox on Friday afternoon.
You can donate more than £1, if you like, but £1 from as many people as possible will be gratefully received, as, like many organisations working in Africa right now, they are encountering a wave of additional ebola-related challenges.
Thanks for helping.
Terms and Conditions of the competition apply and are available here.

How have you viewed the No campaign in general?
MWD
The greatest informer is experience. Not what others tell you, but what your own experience teaches you about life and human nature.
My experience tells me it is basically selfish in that it will naturally look after itself first.
So I don’t kid myself that I’m doing something for others. I kidded myself on for 40 years I was doing that when I suddenly woke up.
The division is quite clear, those who under the current system and in spite of it have made a life for themselves that they worked hard for in spite of all the horrors of right wing politics in their way and those who have not managed the same for lots of reasons and at this point in their lives feel they have nothing to lose.
Folk who feel they have most to lose will vote no. Selfish bassas.
Those who think they have everything to gain and nothing to lose will vote Yes.. Selfish bassas.
You can read all the information you like, it only serves the inner selfish self reading it- of either hue.
I don’t want you to vote No but I would like it if you were honest enough to admit that others might have to pay for your hopes but that does not concern you.

The programme isn’t Question Time.
It’s something produced by Shortbread. A debate or something.
Don’t worry, the truth will come out.

BBC denies claims it has ditched George Galloway from TV debate
Wednesday 10 September 2014
BBC Scotland has dismissed claims that it “vetoed” Respect MP George Galloway’s appearance on a TV debate – insisting it is common for panel line-ups to change.
A spokesman for Mr Galloway said he had expected to feature for the No camp in a referendum event to be broadcast from Glasgow tomorrow evening.
The Big, Big Debate event at the SSE Hydro will see thousands of 16 and 17-year-old first-time voters question key politicians and personalities from the Yes and No campaigns.
Mr Galloway’s spokesman claimed the Bradford West MP’s presence in the debate was subsequently “vetoed” at a senior level within the station on the grounds that it should only feature Scottish-based politicians.
Branding the alleged decision “palpable nonsense”, the spokesman claimed the BBC would have allowed Prime Minister David Cameron on the show if he had been put up for the debate.
Responding to the suggestions, a BBC Scotland spokesman said: “It’s not uncommon for panel line-ups to change before such topical debates take place.
“We’ll be very happy to announce the panellists once they’re confirmed tomorrow.”

“I don’t want you to vote No but I would like it if you were honest enough to admit that others might have to pay for your hopes but that does not concern you”
That statement could and in all likelyhood will be turned round and used agaist anyone voting No.
The arrogance of your assertion that only the poor and disenfranchised will vote yes is simply so appauling I have trouble believing you have any experience of real life in Scotland outwith your own wee social circle.
I know of many, to many to count, that are successful and have reached the top of their chosen proffessions who are voting Yes. I also know many self made people who will also be voting Yes

There have been numerous renditions of Ave Maria, all of them bring a tear to my eye. Even the piano version. Touching stuff. Yer mammie had good taste. :-) KTF.

Just had an impromptu chat with a Yes leafleteer. Their canvassing here in in dunblane is apparently (according to her) 65:35 Yes, which apparently places dunblane some way behind many other parts of Scotland.
Figures for Croydon were unavailable!
I can’t vouch for the accuracy. But it’s pretty interesting.

What a ridiculous post. You want to talk about Celtic? How trivial of you. There has to be NO talk about football on here until the 24th of September. The 19th and 20th are reserved for all and sundry to call each other bawbags for voting YES/NO, and the 21st and 22nd are reserved for the Ernie bashers, although they seem to have had a fair percentage of the blog the past few days. Vote YO, if you`re undecided.

I’m fairly certain the disenfranchised won’t be voting either way
Livibhoy spoke eloquently as ever last night about how his job and his wife’s job could both be threatened by Yes vote. Yet they’re still going to do it.
I’m exactly the same, though without the eloquence!
I need to do what I believe to be right. At the same time I have no less respect for my parents, my sister and those on here like Auldheid who’ll vote No with the best of intentions.
But that respect has to go in both directions and survive beyond next week.
Yours in Celtic

Mr Galloway is in fact taking part in a seperate event the article you posted does not confirm anything, no where in the article is a BBC spokesperson quoted as confirming your allegation.

Unfortunately for the No camp the Yes side have been brilliant at persuading those very people to register to vote for the first time ever. It was announced today that 93% of those eligible to vote have registered, many of those voters will never have registered before.

Broonie is closer to playing than Tonev, I heard from a player today.

This is the Shay, our bhoy wonder and his young parents who desperately need our help.
http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/news/real-life/parents-plead-cash-help-baby-4199738
Imagine having your first baby or first grandchild and things go badly wrong. Now you are entering Mary and Tam’s world.
Instead of your baby uttering his first words, eating his first meal, taking his first steps ( all the things we take for granted) you spend the first year of his life in and out of the hospital, hoping, just hoping that your baby will firstly survive and then secondly will improve.
Yet this miracle is starting to happen due to the resilience of Shay, his family and his friends. They are fighting back, Shay is starting to smile and slowly react. The family’s despair is moving slowly towards hope, but they need special medical treatment to give Shay a chance, but as always this comes at a cost.
To give Shay a chance he probably needs 2 or 3 years of treatment.
Be proud if you have already taken part in the CQN predictor competition which will raise around £700 to support this family, but this is only the start of their journey to normality, something we all take for granted.
We can join them on this journey and once again make a difference

Nye Bevan, I know one of the Green Brigade and was told they will be back at Celtic Park for the Motherwell game on 21st September.
The old media and their treatment of us. Two long time friends of mine have been working in the press for years. Each has told me, that if anything goes in our favour, the opposition manager or one of their players, is given carte blanche in saying how much we benefitted from the wrong decision.
Anything that went in the defunct club’s favour, no leading questions were asked of the opposition manager or players.
Many in the media hide behind the bad news about about us sells more.
Another example was when we, using a SPFL rule, cancelled a game v St Mirren. People from St Mirren were given plenty of press of how it was terrible we requested the game be cancelled, I think we played Liverpool in Dublin instead,
Now, Aberdeen cancelled their game v St Mirren earlier this season, not a mention of it at all in any media outlets.
It’s a strange one that.
I gather if Charlie is injured, Izzy will be playing and not getting a much needed break.
A week today it will nearly be all over bar the shouting and all the political experts on CQN who appear to have all the answers will be able to go back to there second occupation of being football pundits.I cant wait. Wither your going to vote YES or No or not going to vote at all why you think haranging posters with your point of view will make them change there mind or accept your point of view is beyond naive in my opinion.H.H.

Did you see the mad rickshaw guy welcome our Imperial Masters in Glasgow today? Funny :))
I’ve a feeling that if they’re fit then Ronny might give the 3 new guys a start on Saturday.
I really wish that he’d resort to 2 strikers though instead of a 4-3-3 which I often feel allows the 2 wide players of the from 3 to be lazy.
