Before the second leg against Maribor I went into detail about how important it was for Ronny Deila to rest his players. He did, we lost to Inverness and players spent the bulk the Maribor game looking like strangers.
Since then players’ propensity to look strangers has increased, with the arrival of Stefan Scepovic, John Guidetti and Wakaso Mubarak, not to mention the anticipated return of Aleks Tonev. Ronny has some serious decisions to make.
Does he flood the team with all this new blood, or allow them time to build match fitness and familiarity? New blood is badly needed but so is team cohesion.
Any decision for Aberdeen will be made with the visit to Salzburg one week today in mind. On paper, away to the top seed is our most difficult Europa League game, so we have to be ready.
My expectation is that three, if not all four, of the above will feature heavily on Saturday, which will inform Ronny ahead of his choices for Europe.
Fancy some comfy seats at the Aberdeen game and helping Mary’s Meals as well? The Club’s main sponsor Magners have again offered us two premium seat tickets for the Jock Stein Stand, which you can win by answering the following question:
Who do Celtic play in the lunchtime kick off on Saturday, 13 September 2014?
Optionally….. if you have £1 available, please donate £1 to Mary’s Meals at this MyDonate page, which sends your £1 straight to Mary’s Meals, then send me your confirmation email, with your contact details to celticquicknews@gmail.com Competition closes noon on Friday, so get your entries in now and watch your inbox on Friday afternoon.
You can donate more than £1, if you like, but £1 from as many people as possible will be gratefully received, as, like many organisations working in Africa right now, they are encountering a wave of additional ebola-related challenges.
Thanks for helping.
Terms and Conditions of the competition apply and are available here.

ernie lynch,
You have done more than any other poster on CQN to persuade me that Scotland should vote YES to Independence.
keep up the good work!
Westies. I have been there before. If we have any hope of trying to survive the vote, regardless of the result, it needs to stop.

“If the indie mob beat better together next week , who do they get in the next round ?”
Think it might be the attention of the CIA. MI5 and Special Branch. They play a Craig Levein formation because they don’t like strikers.
Justafan how do the fibres in your body respond to – the Orange Order says No?

Well BCW given all the accusations flying around I did wonder. But I will take you at your word.
Thanks for the endorsement, it means so much.
Those accusatory types, yeah I know, and equally you’ll be aware that I prefer facts, quotes and the like. As opposed to spurious invective and fantasy ?
Those senior execs did they have an opinion on the likelihood of supermarket price rises too ?

Wigwam777. Forgive me but have you posted on CQN before?
Vote No and make a banker happy,

Neganon2- don’t be so touchy mate. I was only messing. :-)
I know there are big implications for your job and I respect that. But there are implications for all of us. I might be voting myself out of a job but I’m past the ‘me’ part (not saying you are) and it might spur me on to better things.
Enjoy the game!

Just again – how do the fibres in your body respond to – the Orange Order says No?
Interesting you bring that up.
Only yesterday a yes campainer in Rutherglen, of Irish descent, was approached by five orange yesterday, just off the main street, he was challanged to a fight, five against one mind, and was told that they would be looking for him on the 19th to meet violence upon him.
They don’t like the democratic process do they.
NEGANON
WIGWAM777 has certainly been here before.
Not so sure he mentioned fishing though…
BCW well it’s good to know you are interested in facts. Hopefully not FACTS though.
Funnily enough they didn’t mention supermarkets or their prices.
MWD- any particular ‘banker’ in mind? :-)

The blog is getting more and more non sequential (is that a word, bet google goin mental now) posters who are determined to be confrontational rather than being part of the family. I will certainly be selecting who I respond to in future. Guys on here can destroy you reputation with one post. Shocking. See you saturday bud, :-)))) KTF.
Wigwan777 while I understand your industry is unlikely to be hampered by independence do you recognise that others will?

I posted similar comment three nights ago and received serious abuse…..so much for the Celtic family.
===================
westies,
First up, apologies for the other night, but……….
Go back and read my post to you, you might see -:)))) at the end which means a joke.
Apologies, again if you didn’t read it that way.
All I will say in my defense is that 95% of posters on here can’t read the blog as it reads.
BTW, Glad ye kicked the glue -:))))

George Galloway blatantly lying.
A super Devo Max on offer. Would love to know the details of that. Sounding like Alec Douglas-Home from his magnificent speech in 1979.

MWD, I’m sure I saw you in that crowd at the hydro tonight. Did you dress up as a spotty teenage girl?
Sipsini, down tiger.

Harvie is a creep ….slimy unctuous creep
Sturgeon is a harridan ….snarling shouting nippy sweety
I thought that pair were awful , inarticulate eejits
=========================
Yes.
Nicola Sturgeon disappointed – flustered, unable to nail the subject when they goaded her about currency.
Harvie is a peurile wee piece of work, leading an inconsequential party, only in this campaign for the limelight – his rabbit-punch attack on George Galloway re rape comments was loathsome; he’s the kind to start pub fights btween others and step back sneering.
Ruth Davidson came across well as an orator – cool and pointed, regardless of views on her party alegiances she’s comfortable under pressure.
George Galloway blustered as per usual and did seema little out of sorts – maybe due to recent events – but his most virulent diatribe near the end about ‘not being kidded’ etc will have struck home with many of the kids delivered as it was in language and diction well-tuned to their ears.
That was my take. Impartial, still to make up my mind, still not getting the answers I want, still in between two stools; I earn in dollars -a yes vote will crash the pound making me immediately wealthier; I have 2 kids whose future is the ultimate concern.
I won’t vote with the yes herd because of emotion – emotion never got me anywhere; I’m married ffs :)) – I’ll vote when there’s clarity, probably around Wednesday omeone will step forward and cut through the popaganda with telling words that will define the campaigns; will wait with interest to see who on which side realises cool logic trumps hedonistic promise every time.
Meanwhile…
Great sense of expectation for 12.45 Saturday – Wakaso, Guidetti, Scepovic, maybe Broon back. Almost like a new team emerging from the despair of August.
Just reading back before bed
Can I just thank whoever posted the clip of the guy in the rickshaw shouting at the labour MP’s –
it lifted me out of a pretty black day thanks a million

So were they all checking their diaries, looking for a free day to arrange the fight?
Kind of like a Rutherglen version of ‘we must do lunch sometime, let me check my filofax’.
I must be getting old. At one time it would just all have kicked off there and then.

You are so correct…..the after shock is going to be difficult.
I left Scotland many years ago, but go back often. I live in Canada where we have had the Quebec separation issues for many years. Each time was a “no” vote, but all the financial wealth moved out of Montreal to Toronto…..and a lot of the young career minded people too….every year…in case it starts up again.
Short term I think an independent Scotland would suffer financially. Next generation (about 20 years time) could build a very strong Scotland. The free education system in Scotland is “second to none” and could deliver a future of value.
Difficult time for all domestic Scots. Good luck to them all.

quite an unfair fight,
what chance have 5 orangemen got against 1 tim,
Weefra/ martim 1980,
No offence to either of you, but it looks to me that the context of posts, have been misread and over exaggerated.
From a neutral corner, hopefully you will sort it out, after all, we all know who our real enemy is.
Looking forward to see our new players on Saturday… G’night politicians/ Celtic supporters.

Oh, you’re gettin in to deep water there wi Ernie, he’s a bit touchy ( feely ) about fishy things the noo.

Don’t worry about your job mate. 25 years ago they still had branches in the 26 counties……….so you’ll have qualified for your pension by the time the branches up here close.
Of course if it’s a NO result you won’t retire……….ever, never, ever because well, austerity is a necessary……….except if your an MP.
See these posters that post strings of you said she said naw I didnay posts. Don’t they realise that on my new wee machine I have to keep clicking with the tip of my index finger?
It’s gonnay start looking like the palm of sipsini’s hand.
Am I not allowed to post my thoughts to fellow celtic supporters.
