I agree. There was some talk today he was carrying a knock, but he was very subdued, especially the first half.Surprised at the manager bringing on Christie, who really contributed nothing.I dont know what Eboue has to do to get a game.Looked tailor made thisbgame to bring him on.Baffling to me.

With Ludogorets going out, it means Astana/Dynamo Zagreb become one of top 4 seeds, so if we make final qualifying round we can’t play the winners of that tie.
BTW one of the clubs with a better recent European record than ours, Basel were knocked out 5:1 tonight.

Excellent! Delighted!
On we go, the bould Bhoys.
Pacing ourselves.
I notice at full time the BBC Scotland football site has us at 0-0 and going to penalties.
This is the national broadcaster. That’s not bias; it’s simple incompetence.
Anyway, we can beat AEK, but the Olympic Stadium will be a bloody fierce baptism for a few of our Bhoys.
Well done the Tic tonight!

Whilst not hiding behind the couch I was certainly looking through my fingers with baited breath in the first half. Poor passing giving me the heebyjeebies! Much more composed and professional in the 2nd half.
Jekyle & Hyde performances totally drain me.

Massive Callum McGregor fan, but wondered what his role was tonight.
I assume He must have done a massive amount of work off the ball, because he never featured much on it.
On balance we have around 120. to 150 mins of nervy play to go and 210 to 240 mins of controlled comfortable mins to play.

Tonight in the second half, I thought he was brilliant in the air. He won every defensive header. Great to see. Keep it up Jack please.

To be fair we weren’t great in 50 per cent of that tie (first half of both games), excellent in one quarter of the tie and that was enough to see us through with a bit to spare.
Gamboa, Ajer and Hendry did very well tonight.
Looking forward to next weeks game.

Everyone saying it will be a lot tougher nect game. How do they know?I watch a lot of football here and occasionally see Greek highlights.Have neverreally noticed them being special. In fact I know nothing really about them. Now that we are through, some dismissing Rosenborg as if they were nothingyet before the 1st tie were bed wetting about them.We are a good team.Next week, hopefully at full strength.I am confident.
Saw that about Broony, hopefully he will get over it, whatever it is.
I agree re Kouassi, every time I have seen him he has been the biz, as you say tonight was tailor made imo for him, sit and protect the CB’s, problem is we don’t see him training and are only going by a few mins on the park, astonished tho that we can spend a few bob on someone like him and not use them, had he been injured all the time fair enough, but he has been injury free for some time now, whatever, we are through, but will need to up our game markedly if we are to make the play off round, I saw AEK at the weekend and they are a very different kettle of fish than Rosenborg.
Haven’t seen the match. It would probably not have done my old ticker much good, especially the first half. Still, we are through. Let’s hope we do the business next week.

Perhaps the midfield gap was due to Brown sitting deeper to protect the back four.

I thought Ryan did okay and he forced their defence to pass the ball out quicker and lose possession a couple of times. I think his pace and fresh legs put a bit of pressure on them. He didn’t get much of the ball but he made them work. (I do have a tendency to look for positives in Celtic players so maybe I’m looking through green tinted glasses)
I am another who is a bit bemused that we didn’t have Kouassi playing tonight. I thought it was tailor made for him. Hopefully, we will see him for some time next week, as I fancy we will need him in Athens.
Glad to see Gamboa getting the plaudits. I have always been impressed with him. We have a player there.
Good to see Ajer and Henry getting the praise they deserve, although I would rather we had Simunovic and Boyatta just now, if only for their experience.
I noticed AEK only lost 12 in all league games last season. I assume their defence is tight but given their competetive games havent started yet it may help us.
Hopefully……

I loved his attitude, he’s playing like someone that knows he has to perform to stay in the team. Most players these days just accept the bench then move onto another club. I hope he’s rewarded with a longer run in the team.

Well done Celtic, AEK have 10 coefficient points Celtic 31, we need to take a good lead over there get a few big players back especially forwards and I think we can get through to the knock out stage, draw on Monday for the final round of qualifying.Unfortunately a trip to Gorgie is between these ties against AEK.

Gave the ball away far too much first half and whoever was meant to be covering the area on the left in front of Tierney needs their backside kicked. Was Sinclair too far up the pitch when we lost the ball or should one of Ntcham or Brown have pulled over? Silly simple balls were tossed to them needlessly in the first half. Rosenborg were a level above Aberdeen and maybe with a proper striker would have scored.
Centre backs and keeper played well but we need to retain possession – sometimes we lost it when under no pressure.
We are through, another plus to the coefficient and hopefully closer to signing those quality players.
