Few will be surprised that the Takeover Appeal Board (TAB) ruled Dave King acted in concert with George Taylor Douglas Park and George Letham when buying a controlling interest in Newco Rangers two years ago, another “favourable settlement”, you could say.
In their statement, TAB wrote, “Over the last two years Mr King has had ample opportunity to disclose documents and to provide other evidence to rebut any deeming, presumption or inference from the evidence that he was acting in concert with Messrs Letham, Taylor and Park. He has not done so.”
So far, so clear-cut, but while this is an unwelcome distraction (or more) to Dave, King, I genuinely hope he has the wherewithal to fund any necessary share purchase. It is difficult to overestimate the extent to which King’s position inhibits Newco.
The club will go nowhere while it remains in his clutches. It is far from clear who would pick up the years of potential liabilities should he exit (forget Sugar Daddy fantasies), but better the devil we know – when we know so much about him.
We have the perfect controller of Newco. He leads through PR dictate, appeals to the lowest common denominator, sat as a director through Oldco’s ignominious demise, and appears to have enough funding capacity to get them as high as third in the league.
I will rue the day Dave King decides he has had enough of Ibrox.
Many thanks to all who contributed to the Lisbon canvass raffle for Alzheimer Scotland. The competition is now closed and we raised an incredible £3264. The winner has been in touch, so if you don’t know already, unfortunately, it’s not you.
This has been another small excerpt in the Great Celtic Story. Well done.

BR said he had tight calf muscles
………………………….
He’s got some eyesight that BR.
BARNEY67 on 15TH MARCH 2017 10:35 AM
Dbhoy, he didn’t seem injured to me. And he’s just been called up for Scotland.
———–
A few minutes before he was subbed SA called across to the bench and touched his calf muscle. Shortly before this gesture he had misplaced a pass, which I had mistakenly labelled as ‘tired’.

I understand your concern re Ashley. However, from my point of view there are very few people within the Ibrox ranks that want Ashley to own their club, and by extension I certainly don’t think the SFA would want that either. The SFA would have to provide permission for Ashley to own Rangers (given his ownership of Newcastle) under Article 13 of the SFA Articles of Association.
He may be the only person who can save them, but they don’t want to be saved by HIM. I think the SFA would heed the calls of the Club 1872 membership on that one.
Firstly Sunday’s game is history, can’t reverse the result,so let it go,as for Ashley, bring it on,

JFH @ 9.46…no, can’t agree with you on that one. Much as I enjoy seeing the ‘cluggers’ getting a spoonful or two of their own medicine, we are a footballing team and that is our strength. ‘Clugging’ is what lesser players resort to in games against superior teams. They target influential and/or ‘soft’ players. Most individuals, surely, can look after themselves, however, those who are less physical – James, Paddy, SS – will always be more vulnerable against the ‘hammer-throwers’. This is where our players must be more visibly vocal with the refs and offenders. Surround them, let them, the supporters and the watching tv audience know you are not happy with a decision or a tackle. Otherwise, there is not a lot else we can do. If we resort to the same tactics as the agriculturists we will lose out…boxer in a street fight. Broonie and the new bhoy Kouassi should be intimidating figures in our mid-field, sending out the message, ‘we will not be bullied’…
Regards…
He did see the pen that Madden missed from our dugout!
And how long does it take, for someone ,to be the Head of the Scouting ,the guy who Brendan would like ,has this week to give his decision,me personally don’t think this guy wants the job,

I think the main thing we learned on Sunday (as if we didn’t already know) is a one goal lead going into the last ten minutes against ZombieFc will never be enough.
Everything was going to plan for the zombies till Armstrong threw a spanner in the works with a piece of individual brilliance. He was the main threat and they must have been delighted to see him go off. I’m still puzzled by that decision.
Barney, not only on sunday. The games previous when we had a single goal lead,we got very jittery nearing the end.The one goal victories at Celtic Park were nearly all the same.It seems the one flaw BR has not really sorted out yet.Armstrong was feeling an injury.Precaution.
Barney67,
Historically, one goal was never considered enough, even though we have recorded many 1-0 victories.

You are correct. The Huns loathe Ashley.Dont want him anywhere near their midden.
Good for us,I would think.
TURKEYBHOY on 15TH MARCH 2017 11:08 AM
Surely if we start taking players off IN Case they are injured or are having such an impact on the game that they are being targeted by the cluggers, is that not a victory for the cluggers?
Good Luck to those watching the appeal court live as a pastime.
Remember, you are a long time dead and I am pretty sure that there are many more enjoyable things to be doing if you have the time!

No
Bit late to be bumping the ole gums re Temporary Licence FC . The die was cast . on the day they were given SFA /SPFL approval despite failing to comply with the relevant licensing requirements . They were ” accommodated and facilitated ” .. Their cheating is officially sanctioned !
Football fans are fickle. If Ashley gained control of the Huns and made real money available, ( and proved it )the loathing would turn to adoration overnight.
HH.
Greenpinata
But the point remains that there may well be roadblocks put up to stop him gaining control in the first place.
Moreover, the first time that Ashley had his men in the boardroom, cost-cutting was the order of the day. Not splashing he cash.
I’ve shunned BRTH’s wise advice and I’m now listening to various hypotheses about Aunt Agatha in the Supreme Court.
What position for the old club did Aunt Agatha play?

Exactly. I’ve just poured a cup of coffee and put a leisure battery on to charge.

Started watching and almost gave up the will to live
GREENPINTA,
You could be right about Ashley, but going my the Huns changing tack.As you say,he cannot do it anyway.
Can you imagine Ashley taking over and putting Lambias back in charge?.
Meltdown.

Centre half. She used her other name, Dan Eggen. There are photos of her playing for the old Huns available on line.

It looks like Thornhill’s wee sidekick has lost the will to live as well…
Albert Kinloch vs Coral Bookmakers, judgement due to be announced at midday
Lord Hodge not overly impressed by Mr Thornhill so far…
“Aunt Agatha” nailed it…
A very important point that Celtic and every other club should point out is that these match officials are very experienced, grade 1 referees who know exactly what they are doing. They are not the local PE teacher drafted in at the last minute because the official ref didn’t turn up.
Madden, McLean, Beaton etc…. made deliberate, conscious decisions to influence the outcome of the games.
In plain language: cheats.

What can be more enjoyable than hearing about the lucky bugger whose boss bought him a suit at Burton’s, or the extreme good fortune of Aunt Agatha who found herself £25k better off, tax free.
Lord Hodge playing a blinder, but I expect to see Kenny Miller flying in from the side to take him oot the game.
Gents,
After arguably the greatest shock sacking of a manager. Do you think that Leicester fans are still protesting or singing the praises of an unknown manager whose name is more synonymous with a great Poet or fishing equipment
I appreciate your opinions, however I reiterate:- Football fans are fickle.
HH.
In the interests of full disclosure I see that the Clumpany beat me to the Aunt Agatha joke on Twitter. But I insist my joke was formed independently.
How much work is being done today?
More people watching the Law Lords stream than viewers for Leicester City last night.
I must attend to my emoluments. Oh missus.
Live updates: The wall is almost touch dry now.

Hmm. The grass seems to still be the same length though…
Some sad people on here. Watching a live stream of the supreme court deliberations. Old men in wigs and gowns waffling away in Latin, hardly a spectator sport.
However if any one has a link to the Sweedish ladies mud wrestling championship I would be interested.

Oh that looks nasty.

Pfft, shows how much you know – they’re not even wearing wigs and gowns…
