Rue the day Dave King decides he has had enough of Ibrox

423

Few will be surprised that the Takeover Appeal Board (TAB) ruled Dave King acted in concert with George Taylor Douglas Park and George Letham when buying a controlling interest in Newco Rangers two years ago, another “favourable settlement”, you could say.

In their statement, TAB wrote, “Over the last two years Mr King has had ample opportunity to disclose documents and to provide other evidence to rebut any deeming, presumption or inference from the evidence that he was acting in concert with Messrs Letham, Taylor and Park. He has not done so.”

So far, so clear-cut, but while this is an unwelcome distraction (or more) to Dave, King, I genuinely hope he has the wherewithal to fund any necessary share purchase. It is difficult to overestimate the extent to which King’s position inhibits Newco.

The club will go nowhere while it remains in his clutches. It is far from clear who would pick up the years of potential liabilities should he exit (forget Sugar Daddy fantasies), but better the devil we know – when we know so much about him.

We have the perfect controller of Newco. He leads through PR dictate, appeals to the lowest common denominator, sat as a director through Oldco’s ignominious demise, and appears to have enough funding capacity to get them as high as third in the league.

I will rue the day Dave King decides he has had enough of Ibrox.

Many thanks to all who contributed to the Lisbon canvass raffle for Alzheimer Scotland. The competition is now closed and we raised an incredible £3264. The winner has been in touch, so if you don’t know already, unfortunately, it’s not you.

This has been another small excerpt in the Great Celtic Story. Well done.

  1. Pathetic penalty there, don’t understand why the defensive midfielder took it. Strikers should have been grabbing the ball.

We have had the most favourable rates from the coop for years. The share price will not guarantee a better rate in the current financial market.

It’s just number based on perception in a pretty rigged financial market. Will only make a difference to those who may be interested in selling.

Yep,delighted with all good news concerning my club.Unlike some idiots,I dont pick and chose the good news to maintain my agenda. If you dont think the club being valued at the current price is good news for Celtic, you are a moron.

Imagine the game on Sunday was refereed by a mad Tim fae my local in Clydebank who travelled on the supporters bus for years and was a season ticket holder at Celtic Park in the last few years? Widnae happen.

  5. MWD. Coop bank is bleeding at the moment.

    2016 saw massive losses.

Who knows what will happen as other financial institutions may be looking to pick up any profitable pieces of the operation.

It makes a difference when our board look to make investments to improve and secure our future revenues.

  6. Leicester’s win and progression to the 1/4 finals gives me hope and confidence for our assault on Europe next season.

A couple of good signings before the qualifiers and a decent draw is all we ask.

  7. Fed up with footballing cheats not being called out.

English commentators afraid to call Vardy’s dive as cheating.

Nasri was stupid but Vardy did a lafferty or Lovenkrands.

    Sick of cheats being justified.

Vardy should receive a ban for that.

  8. Leicester punching well above their weight. They got a very favourable group stage draw, and Sevilla will be kicking themselves not to have gone through as they are a far better side. Nasri was idiotic tonight but Vardy was just as bad. Leicester would have finished bottom of our group. I reckon one of the Euro heavyweights will destroy them in the next round.

Leicester are just a big bruising defensive team with pace to hit on the break.

They have won in Europe by being physical with opponents.

They have the advantage of being part of UEFA’S favored nations cartel.

We would not get the same leeway with refs as the past has shown.

Our defense and central midfield needs improvement for Europe but we are showing promise.

  10. Incredible revival by Leicester. Brilliant performance to get through against Sevilla.

Newly-promoted manger Shakespeare taking all the credit for it, though.

Can imagine Chris Marlowe watching that and seething…

  11. I would imagine the French arny too happy with the new CL set up, maybes they could be a decent friend re getting at uefa, or not as we will just bend over and take whatever they give us.

Hamiltontim , I got your e mail, last night. Thank you.

Thank you I’m glad you found it worthwhile. We’ll get an agenda etc sent out in the coming week.

  19. Hi Bhoys

Just read this link from a posster on the johnjames site. To be fair it does go on a bit but it is written in plain english and even I could follow the script from it.

If you don’t want to read about how Dave King and his concert party are well and truly financially rodgered just don’t click on the link.(IF IT WORKS).

*Having worked in marketing and business development at the largest organisation of its kind in this country, one that’s open 24/7, for a few years its up to the likes of McDonald’s and KFC etc to determine if its worthwhile to open for every other weekend. BTW these companies employees are generally students on zero hours contracts and minimum wages and the student minimum wage is less than the “grown up” one, at least over here it is.

Hamiltontim, I went to the last AGM expecting it to be a meeting of the Parkhead Popular Front , lol, with pictures of Mao, Lenin, Karl Marx , Castro and Che Guevara next to some Celtic photos on the wall.

Instead there was a good mix of our supprt there . No politics mentioned at all .

Thanks again for all your and the committee’s work.

As you’ll be aware there’s some absolute nonsense said about the Trust (mostly on here, I’m not aware of it to any real extent elsewhere).

The reality is that it’s a group of Celtic supporters who believe strongly and passionately in upholding the founding principles of Walfrid’s Celtic.

Say hello this time comrade, I’ll be the one in the balaclava and Trotsky leotard!

There is an all weather pitch at Lennoxtown, but I was talking about the new Desso pitch at CP, that Brendan has been promoting.

Food is not something I’ve ever tried in my few too few visits to CP.

I have a very restrictive diet, but I would prefer to eat at home either before or after or a proper establishment.

Like the Blue Lagoon for instance. ;-)

  24. Good evening all. BRTH 9.03 …..seriously . Thanks so much , I’ve never won a raffle / draw or anything likewise in my natural , 52 years old and won he haw. This news is more than welcome.

Please forgive me , but being a tad ( just a tad ) over inebriated by alcohol on this , the start of Cheltenham festival week , I would like to indulge on the CQN community.

On Sunday I met up with a poster from CQN for a chat & bit of breakfast with his brother. Both from Dublin ,who travelled over for the match. We met in a cafe owned by a CQN’r.

He entered his own cafe and made a beeline for us.

The guys from Dublin got access to the game by a genuine act of kindness from 2 separate season ticket holders who post on here. Both passed on their books.

Prior to the game on Sunday , I shared a small but significant time and chatted with a few , all from this blog. Including the guy who organised the raffle .

I was informed that I’d won the Nir Bitton shirt from a separate , but regular poster from Dublin.

Think about it. Celtic is the common denominator. Friendships have been made through this blog that will pass the test of time.

The game on Sunday left a bitter taste . Not our performance . Not the performance of Madden. Just how he got the gig .

I sincerely hope that the host , posters , lurkers , anyone ,who can ,that witnessed Sunday’s game can bring about a change in the football environment we live in.

    Especially the 4 resolutioners .

If not , all we have is each other . To every Tim out there . We actually hold the aces. HH
