Scot Gov can reset relations with 18,000 fans

144

It’s a new day, it’s a new dawn, it’s a chance for the Scottish Government to reset relationships with Celtic after the First Minister grandstanded over the club in August and January last season.  10,000 socially distanced fans waving Scotland flags were permitted into Hampden a full month ago.  In that time, Wembley’s attendances rose from 18,500 to 67,000, supported by higher levels of vaccination.

The tape measures have been out at Celtic Park; 18,000 people can attend while observing the 1m INDOOR socially distance requirement.  As of my last visit 16 months ago, the stadium had no roof.  From my seat in the back row of the North Stand, you experience birds flying high and a significant amount of fresh air meets your every breath.  From that perspective, this stadium is one of the safest in the world, and far safer than any bar you may consider watching the Midtjylland game from on Tuesday.

But this is Ms £600k, so you might want to book into a pub instead.  We will see if she offers Dom McKay an olive branch.  You know how I feel.

If you are talking about the qualifier next week, that’s only on Premier Sports, who are the worst outfit I’ve ever dealt with.

You can’t remove a payment method in your account only add new ones. You can’t cancel the direct debit except on the phone.

They don’t accept PayPal and their telephone support is based in the Caribbean where they’re asking for payment card details over the phone. Not in a million years!

  2. Game tonight — Seemingly it is £10 through “RobinTV”.

    Might be worth a punt.

Thought you were talking about Premier Sports tv again (Robin tv) 😂

  4. Game is free on Pass to Paradise for ST holders. Need to hook out the long HDMI cable again (Chromecast only shows an icon with P2P; works for all other sites so i assume it is a deliberate block to stop one person showing it in the pub)

“I don’t feel deceived, or lied to”. I haven’t checked back, but I think that’s the gist of what you wrote.

I like reading your regular contributions, admire how you always ‘fight your corner’, and really enjoy the historical photos you post. ( I have used them many times in Celtic Club quizzes ). However, I am puzzled by your comment from yesterday. Peter Lawwell and Chairman Bankier flat out lied to shareholders at the last 2 AGMs, for which they should really be struck off. Mr. Lawwell was emailed copies of the pernicious secret 5 way agreement, and the Resolutioners have bona fide copies of these. It defies belief that the CEO of the largest Club in Scotland did not see the subject of weeks of infighting with the SFA, SPFL, Sevco, First Rangers, and Charles Green. I’m sorry SAINTSTIVS, but you and I, all Celtic shareholders, and all Celtic fans, have been blatantly lied to and deceived. I’m not looking for a fight, but do you not see that? If a dyed in the wool fan like you is blissfully aware of this, or is aware and chooses to dismiss it, then our situation vis-vis the corrosive corruption endemic in Scottish football is worse than I feared.

  12. Big issue for me is a stop gap CB vs youth CB with promise.

LFH vs NB to play alongside SW — Not great but that is where we are.

NB not playing at CB in July — now that would be news.

My thoughts are go with youth.

    I should have clarified.

I dont feel deceived or lied to with regard to Peter Lawwell sitting in another chair.

He was always going to be retained in some sort of non-exec role to allow for him to be part of those european organisations he is on.

I agree Res12 guys and others have been lied to by board members, and given the bumff in the annual report about their duties, then yes there has been deception.

Enjoy the pics, it is just a distraction to allow me to post.

  18. Hi Guys.

Can anyone tell me if we are being issued new season ticker cards for the coming season. I ask because last year I put mine in a safe place – so safe that I have clean forgot where I put them (it’s an age thing)!

  20. Evolution of governance framework

The Directors view corporate governance not just as a perfunctory

exercise to serve bureaucratic expediency, but instead as a real and

intrinsic part of the Group’s culture and operations. The Board continues

to apply corporate governance principles in a sensible and pragmatic

fashion having regard to the individual circumstances of the Group’s

business, with the overarching objective to create, safeguard and

enhance accountability, risk management, commercial success and

    shareholder value.

My point is one of fairness.

SG’s Attendance / Capacity approvals so far

    Scotland – 12,000 / 52,000 (23%)

    British Lions – 16,500 / 67,500 (24%)

    Hibernian – 2,000 / 20,000 (10%)

    Motherwell – 2,000 / 14,000 (14%)

    Ayr United – 2,000 / 12,000 (17%)

    Celtic ….. 2,000 / 61,000 (3%)

    It’s unfair plain and simple.

If dispensation hadn’t been given to large stadia already (Murrayfield, Hampden) ….

…. and it was a flat 2,000 offering across the board ….

Guys – much appreciate the (sometimes) wise advice.

I’m thinking the 20% / put some away for a nest-egg is a good balance. She’s a sensible lassie, has been living in St Andrews for 4 years (well, 3 1/2 – came back early last year) so is aware of having to pay bills and feed herself (which is VERY high on her priority list.

Is that you criticising our Glorious First Minister again when you should be calling out the people I don’t like? You’re probably a misogynist, aren’t you?

I mean I don’t vote for her or support her or anything but I won’t hear a bad word said against her.

She may not be a Celtic fan but I’d rather criticize Celtic fans than Independence supporters. Some things are sacrosanct, you know?

The SNP have never harmed Celtic or , if they did, it was an accident, and if they repeatedly did it, that doesn’t mean there’s a pattern developing or anything. It is simply a long line of unfortunate coincidences and if you had the intelligence to spot it, you wouldn’t be writing such rubbish.

    There!

That should save a few bloggers or posters from bothering.

  28. biggest problem at all seated stadiums is that most so called fans ignore the seats and just stand anywhere , stewards /police unable to make them sit , will it will take another disaster before they are made to sit we will see.
