Scot Gov can reset relations with 18,000 fans

144

It’s a new day, it’s a new dawn, it’s a chance for the Scottish Government to reset relationships with Celtic after the First Minister grandstanded over the club in August and January last season.  10,000 socially distanced fans waving Scotland flags were permitted into Hampden a full month ago.  In that time, Wembley’s attendances rose from 18,500 to 67,000, supported by higher levels of vaccination.

The tape measures have been out at Celtic Park; 18,000 people can attend while observing the 1m INDOOR socially distance requirement.  As of my last visit 16 months ago, the stadium had no roof.  From my seat in the back row of the North Stand, you experience birds flying high and a significant amount of fresh air meets your every breath.  From that perspective, this stadium is one of the safest in the world, and far safer than any bar you may consider watching the Midtjylland game from on Tuesday.

But this is Ms £600k, so you might want to book into a pub instead.  We will see if she offers Dom McKay an olive branch.  You know how I feel.

Concentration of ownership and access to unbiased minformation is a huge problem in a democracy.

We know it won’t be solved by any border and samller population.

Oul Rupert was quite prepared to back the SNP as a means to break Labour; he even gave Alex Salmond a paid job before Putin had that idea. If Scotland won Independence, he’d have a version of The National that backed right wing SNP leaders before reverting to backing Scots Tories.

So, belatedly found his latest offering dated 12 July.

A very interesting piece on the shenanigans over at Club1872.

Then there is the ON conundrum …

Nearly as talented as DT — bit harsh but he has let his standards fall.

If he has a good game he could beat the Danish mob himself.

Would allow two to screen the defence with IS playing alongside them if required.

True. My employment manual is very specific that i can be bagged for bring the company into disrepute if their name is tagged to my misbehaviour.

Was thinking about that recently – my FB has my employer and previous employer on there; might ditch that now

  5. Brentford or Celtic? Has it really come to that for wantaway players?

Losing KT to Arsenal is understandable. But if Brentford is seen as a step up we really have to wonder about who is advising the lad.

    All about the money.

  6. ‘It’s always been dream to avoid battering against the top 6 in England and scrap against relegation with the also rans and never get near another trophy in my playing career again…..’ said A Footballer.

Joking aside, Celtic are a stepping stone. So are the EPL Cannon fodder. Do well there and Kris gets a move to Liverpool, Manchester, North or west London. That’s the game plan I think.

  7. Starman waiting in the sky

He’d like to come and meet us

But he thinks he’d blow our minds

There’s a starman waiting in the sky

He’s told us not to blow it

‘Cause he knows it’s all worthwhile

    He told me

    Let the children lose it

    Let the children use it

    Let all the children boogie

  8. The Board were quick last season to tell us all about the principles of the club.

Keeping Griffiths at Celtic will mean that any mention of principles from our Club will be laughed at in the future.

Lack of criminality does not mean lack of gross misconduct.

Sack him or sell him, just show him the door, Celtic.

  9. !!Bada Bing!! on

Griffiths will get chased out the door, texting a string of wee lassies, borderline 15/16? Can’t be trusted, and he can’t grow up, get him tae….

  10. Apparently it’s official. We have another 19-year-old promising youngster:

“CELTIC have completed the £3.5million transfer of Liel Abada.

Abada – who stands at just 5ft 6in – scored 12 goals last season as Petah Tikva finished fifth in the league.

He landed his first international cap with Israel in June against Montenegro.”

    Welcome to Paradise Abada.

  11. CELTIC: Barkas; Ralston, Welsh, Urhoghide, Taylor; Soro, McGregor, Dembele, Turnbull, Johnston, Ajeti

Subs: Bain, Ntcham, Shaw, Robertson, Murray, Henderson, Montgomery, Hjelde, Moffat

  12. Celtic have announced the signing of Israeli winger Liel Abada on a five-year deal this evening.

  13. Griffiths has been a liability for some time.

His ability is not now nor ever has been in doubt.

However, his maturity quotient has not improved since he was 14.

Rodgers got the best out of him but Lennon gave up on him.

He was indulged by Rodgers over his personal problems but instead of seeing this as an opportunity he merely saw it as a bonus.

He tantrumed on the day his contract was up because Celtic didn’t take up the option – he removed all pix of him wearing Celtic kits from his social media. Instead, Celtic had offered him a stand alone one year deal, on less money. In his head he actually thought that he deserved the one year option from the club despite being missing in action last year, except in pubs & pie shops.

Many questioned the wisdom of that one year contract because it was clear his head is gone when it comes to Celtic. He’s not reliable, honest or focused, so why would any manager want him near his squad?

His latest stunts are perhaps not criminal, but they brought the police to the door of Celtic Park asking to speak to him about a complaint from a parent. All players have an obligation not to harm the reputation of the club & he’s been given more chances than anyone, yet returns to his destructive behaviour. That he chooses to interract with teenage girls to this extent on social media tells the world where his head is.

He has an addictive personality, like Gascoigne, Best and so many other wee lads that never grew up.

What does he offer a new manager trying to establish a more professional approach in our footballing department? Other than headaches that is. Ange wants players who want to stay, but he also wants players who are ready to play. Griffiths is clearly not one of the latter.

He will continue to be a liability & sadly, like others, I expect that he will not play for us again.
