Seeking game time in Qatar

551

Marco Tilio made a late substitute appearance in Australia’s final Asian Cup warm-up game against Bharain on Saturday.  The player is clearly valued higher in his home country than around Lennoxtown.  With little prospect of a promotion to the Celtic starting line-up ahead, any chance the player has to shine would be useful for him and the club.

Oh Hyeon-gyu played the first half of Korea’s game against Iraq on the same day.  There is little chance of Oh moving on this month but, like Marco, he is a player who would benefit from gametime in Qatar.

Japan’s opener against Vietnam on Sunday will attract most attention from Celtic fans.  Reo Hatate should be close to full fitness, although I doubt he will start the game.  Daizen Maeda led the line for Japan at the World Cup, when they expected to play a counter-attacking game.  Tactics will be different against Vietnam than they were against Spain, so Daizen may not play the same role.

Again, you and I will lie in our beds at night pondering why one of the greatest Celtic players of this century is on a beach somewhere right now.

The Sun report Celtic have received a work permit for Nicolas Kuhn.  This detail is usually completed after paperwork is signed.  Hopefully we’re a ‘Ross Hall moment’ away from getting this one over the line.

A lot of ST holders not going to the Buckie Thistle tie, but a large number have bought their seats through the HCTS to improve ticket access for potential semi-final and final. All of which means the Highland club will make a lot more money than the actual attendance might suggest.

H,mm,watching Man U v Spurs.Good game but Ange, despite Spurs being better team,2-1 down at HT.Time Werner, who I have never rated, plays surprisingly like someone else..Passes 90% of passes to him, backwards, finds it difficult to create chances, can’t dribble, and when he gets a half chance, balloons it wildly over.Very quick though.Who am I thinking off?.

    No bother.

I suppose when you are trying to keep people reading your pages, you need to keep putting up something new, so it must be tempting to lift unsubstantiated gossip from time to time to keep things going.

I tend to take on sites as just one guy’s opinion. I don’t believe any of the bloggers have an inside track on what Celtic are really doing more than anyone else on here does.

I know Paul67 did have access to some inside info back in the day, such as the Andreas Hinkel scoop, but I’m not sure what, if any, info people get these days.

I think even stories attributed to the likes of McAvennie are made up pash.

Waa at a birthday party in the Crystal Bell yesterday . Inevitably the conversation turned to footie. Some of the crowd stated that it should always be Celtic Park and they would never entertain Parkhead.

I suggested what about Parkers as a comprisise. FFS, I nearly got sprayed with mouthfuls of drink from dismayed party goers.

Don’t think it will catch on in the Gallowgate.

PS : Not even a total regular in the Crystal Bell, but the manageress sent us over shots for the whole crowd.

Thinking ahead! Hopefully we’ll get by Buckie Thistle and get another home draw. Looks like we have left 116,117,118 and 119 available for Thistle supporters, so hopefully the weather doesn’t prove too much of a problem travelwise. Standing section seems to be reserved also, for us obviously. Must be getting televised too so a few more quid for the visitors, deserve it too for getting this far.

For the Buckie game we only had 8 of us going, so would run two cars to save a bus loss. However we are now running a bus, looking forward to it, sadly Buckie are not being allowed to play in their Hoops, booooooo

I reckon the attendance for the Buckie game (as in the number of folk inside the stadium, and not any other number because it upsets St Stivs) will be between 30,000 and 35,000.

cant see it being more than that

Apologies for the aggressive reply. Obviously, debate about the board plays an important part of CQN but the comments section seems to be far too preoccupied with it imo. Everything seems to come back to it, and while the common perception seems to be that Paul67, as a board stooge, is responsible for it with his constant output of board propaganda, I don’t think that’s the case

Every article quickly descends into proxy arguments about PL and/or the board. It looks like every article is about it but that’s not my experience.

  22. Enough meta navel gazing indulgence.

I do think we should be a little more respectful of what Paul67 does for us all though.

Tom, if that is true then I’m really scunnered.

I was hoping to take most of the family to the Buckie game from the moment it was announced. Instead I had to wait till 10 a.m. on Tuesday morning before tickets went on general sale. At exactly 10 a.m. I was looking for 5 tickets together… best on offer was 4 but they were gone by the time I tried to buy them. Next best I went for 3……almost got them but I needed to assign a name for the other two people who, unlike myself are not registered with the ticket system even although I have bought both of them tickets in the past. After nearly an hour of being on the ticket site I gave up. At that point I phoned the ticket office only to be told it was closed. I still want to go to the game with my grandson but feel rotten not to have the others with me.

In my opinion, tickets for this game should have been on general sale from the get go. If there are hundreds, nay thousands, of paid for empty seats on the day I’ll be truly pi**ed off.

    Me and SAINT STIVS.

  25. garygillespieshamstring on

For what it is worth, we have five tickets on the home cup ticket scheme and attend every cup game.

The only cup ties we refuse tickets for are games v Huns. Fortunately, we have avoided them apart from hampden.

However we were ruled out of ballots for cup finals because we didn’t take up the offer of semi tickets v the hun.

surely you should have just bought 5 tickets anyway knowing it will be half empty (or maybe half full 😋), then you could just have moved beside each other when yous seen all the empty seats?

    easy problem to sort out.

and not an excuse not to buy any tickets

    hmm,

cant say i agree with that.

surely season ticket holders who have paid hundreds of quids at the start of the season should be allowed the chance to buy a ticket before any public sale 🤷🏻‍♂️

Big Dennis what a goalie. ESP that game against us for St Mirren.

*aye I was at that game that night in the enclosure opposite the tunnel which is the same spot I was in where his name sake, different spelling, put the shutters up against us and our legendary manager was in the dug out for both games or should I say all 3, what a lot of our fans never realised that night was Denis was an exCelt having been our books 8 years earlier before being freed.

As much as that game resulted in his return due to the humiliation against the harry wraggs in the final, it also precipitated the signing of Dixie, he starred in the 1974 Dryborough Cup Final where he saved 2 penalties in a shoot out against the huns.

Although the wee mhan is seen as the hero of that game with his final penalty winner where he seemed tae run from almost the hauf way line, what made it all the more glorious is that the buzz bomb had missed our first penalty, so they were one up before we got on board but they only scored one more and that was academic as it was their final one and we were already winners, 4-1 up.
