Tactics will be different against Vietnam than they were against Spain, so Daizen may not play the same role.

thanks for that….I completely forgot about our penalty claims AND Sarti clawing the ball on his goal line…we all swore the ball had crossed the line. I’d love to see an updated version with goal line technology….theyve done it for the ‘66 World Cup Final.

Don’t know if it’s true or not….i read somewhere that because it’s a “tonic” they don’t pay the taxes that other distillers have to pay. Before becoming popular, as a tonic it was a very cheap way to get drunk. By all accounts it’s as dear now as alcoholic spirits. I attended that meeting ,with 4 other Tim’s from the Methil & District CSC .
It was on a Sunday .
We arrived early ,and asked a local where we could get a pint .
It was pre opening time .
They told us to go to the cottage bar and knock the back door .
We were allowed in .
Very clandestine.
Then a few minutes later ,several members of an Orange flute band came in .
Luckily none of us had any colours on .
We suffered through our pints ,as the band members practised on theirs flutes ,and complimented each other on their plumed hats and uniforms .
We were heavily outnumbered ,by the time we left for the Halls.

Back in the ‘70s I played darts for my local. Unfortunately, the league we were in took in the pubs the entire length of Duke St. I have a very very Irish name, so it was suggested to me I used an alias. Thank god I did. I was pretty good back then and won most of my games. Bad enough beating them on their own patch, but if they had my real name I probably wouldn’t have left there alive.
