Send our players back to Lennoxtown as soon as possible

I know what you are worried about after last night’s Scotland performance, “He’s going to throw James Forrest in now.”  My feeling on the matter is that James, Callum and Kieran all need to ‘work on their fitness’ a bit.

Since managing Scotland for a few months in 2007, a period that included a 0-1 win in Paris, Alex McLeish has been found out in five subsequent appointments, ending ignominiously in North Africa.  He has the look of what he is, a man earning enough to make good on a tax bill that recently came his way, and nothing else.  Nice gig if you can get it.  He also selects players who are banned for life from the national team.

Scotland have the players to beat the 94th team in the world but were not sufficiently competent to fix up a manager who already lives in the country but manages in Belfast, or conduct an adequate search for an alternative.

The result of this, is that fans stopped caring, as do many players, by the look of it.  I don’t know a single person who was upset last night, the Scotland international football fascination is over.  The once great endeavour of football as a self-contained unit in Scotland is over, everybody knows it.  Send our players back to Lennoxtown as soon as possible, please.

  3. After 3 weeks of doing very little walking – this week I need to get my legs moving in preparation for my Camino walk starting next Saturday. Was planning to do a few miles this afternoon but my son’s just phoned me saying he has a spare for this afternoon’s Vale match. Looks like training will have to wait till Monday.

    Spot on Nostardamus.

My personal choice would be to appoint a young manager, who could hold sway with the SMSM, who is so far below the radar he will never be linked with any other job and is looking to realise his full potential at an outfit with a regular chance of Champions League participation. He’d also need to have the ability to get referees and football committees to sit up and dance to his every word.

The ability to bring a miracle with you would be areal bonus.

Now were could we find on of them ?

Mrs S of T and I recently did something called the Lebanon Mountain Trail . 475 Km from Andaket to Marjahoun . That done we headed for a beach resort north of Beirut . Funny thing was that the old bods were fine doing the walk but by the time we were lying on a beach both of us had seriously sore feet and ankles..

Best wishes re your Camino !!!

Don`t be silly. If such a Manager existed, only one of the most successful clubs in the world could hope to attract him.

Time to watch Bath V Toulouse. This could be a good one.

    Cheerio for now,

  10. Apparently there was already an agreement with Celtic that KT would only play one game. Christie has been called up.

  11. Big Samaras was a bit of an enigma, took a while to convince and would often ignore teammates in better positions then run into a culdesac with the ball.

Scored some cracking goals and had a great scoring run in Europe under Lenny. He became a very important player for us. I was sad to see him go.

He left us with some great memories, all the best big chap.

Hello again all you young rebels.

Can’t believe i’m having to come on to CQN of all places to defend

a good man, a legend, a Lisbon Lion, against all these scurrilous and

alleged statements he supposedly made regarding Daniel Arzani.

Do you people not think about the MSM ‘s agenda against our club

before you go spouting about him being a ” silly old man ” or implying

that he’s just another soup taker.

Why don’t you stop and think why these headlines bashing anything

Celtic are happening before you batter your keyboard.

Wait until you check the facts before you do level 5’s dirty work.

    Shame on you all.

  14. Just watched a rerun of last nights Colombia v USA.

Colombia were leading 1-0 and took their foot off the gas and the USA scored two very good goals within a few minutes to lead.

Both goals came from quick counter attacks.

Colombia suddenly regained focus and produced a masterclass that showed the naivety of the USA defenders who constantly got caught on wrong side of opponents.

Colombia scored three times to go 4-2 up.

There is a simple rule as a defender to stay on your feet and goal side of opponent yet so many fail to do so.

The most impressive thing from the Colombians was their off the ball movement and constant availability to receive a pass.

They always had at least two and usually three men available for an outlet pass making it a lot easier for their defenders to play the ball forward.

Snodgrass is also Joe the Toff. Deserting a sinking ship probably. No point in bagging EBT Eck until the entire Organisation is restructured. Blazers now in between a rock and a hard place.

Well said Mick! Look at the latest MSM nonsense. No sooner have Aston Villa employed a new manager, they link Brendan with the Newcastle job, a club with, at present, one of the best in the business. To think that being a journalist was once one of most respected professions around, (and Glasgow a great newspaper town), it has been reduced, or more rather traduced, to the level it is now in Scotland. A great profession brought down to the level of the lowest common denominator, the gutter.
