Send our players back to Lennoxtown as soon as possible

I know what you are worried about after last night’s Scotland performance, “He’s going to throw James Forrest in now.”  My feeling on the matter is that James, Callum and Kieran all need to ‘work on their fitness’ a bit.

Since managing Scotland for a few months in 2007, a period that included a 0-1 win in Paris, Alex McLeish has been found out in five subsequent appointments, ending ignominiously in North Africa.  He has the look of what he is, a man earning enough to make good on a tax bill that recently came his way, and nothing else.  Nice gig if you can get it.  He also selects players who are banned for life from the national team.

Scotland have the players to beat the 94th team in the world but were not sufficiently competent to fix up a manager who already lives in the country but manages in Belfast, or conduct an adequate search for an alternative.

The result of this, is that fans stopped caring, as do many players, by the look of it.  I don’t know a single person who was upset last night, the Scotland international football fascination is over.  The once great endeavour of football as a self-contained unit in Scotland is over, everybody knows it.  Send our players back to Lennoxtown as soon as possible, please.

The Sopranos? A great show… in fact, second best ever in my opinion. But The Wire edges it out .. about gangs/police/corruption in Baltimore… if you haven’t seen it, it is definitely worth watching

even the Sir Fergie book LEADING and very complimentary towards

Celtic it was, but not really surprised as i played with his brother

Martin who was very Celtic minded as was his mother.

Read the Fergie book. His love for Jock Stein permeated the text. Magic read.

Total respect to his Master Stein.

Sir Alex Ferguson has learned well from Jock Stein in his assistant manager Scotland role.

Man Utd success under Fergie is down to Jock Stein. ?

The Wire was an American show, written by ex Cops from Baltimore (although I think about half the cast, including two leads -Domenic West and Iris Elba – we’re British or Irish). There was no British version per se, but a few different shows subsequently sort of took the idea and ran with it. Stringer Bell and, particularly Omar, are two of my favourite TV characters ever

For me, Sopranos was great … and quite true to life in many respects … but, as entertainment, it will always suffer slightly due to the inevitable comparison to The Godfather

A young woman started work in the village chemist. She was very shy about selling condoms to the public. The chemist was going on leave for a few days and asked her if she run the shop on her own.She had to confide in him her worries about selling condoms.Look,’he said my regular customers don’t ask for condoms, they either ask for a 310 ( small ) a 320 ( medium ) or a 330 ( large). The word condom is never used”The first day was fine, but on the second day a black guy walked in and said”350″The girl panicked and phoned the chemist telling him of her predicament.”Go back in and see if he has a bucket dangling down in front of him”The girl had a peep and told the chemist”yes he has a large bucket I don’t know what to do,I am quite nervous””Don’t be”,said the chemist ” that’s the window cleaner, give him £3.50.”

A good call. An often overlooked film. Based on Chas P’s real life growing up. I liked it much better than the more lauded Goodfellas, which I think was way over rated, and ruined by Ray Liotta’s ham-fisted scenery-chewing
