I know what you are worried about after last night’s Scotland performance, “He’s going to throw James Forrest in now.” My feeling on the matter is that James, Callum and Kieran all need to ‘work on their fitness’ a bit.
Since managing Scotland for a few months in 2007, a period that included a 0-1 win in Paris, Alex McLeish has been found out in five subsequent appointments, ending ignominiously in North Africa. He has the look of what he is, a man earning enough to make good on a tax bill that recently came his way, and nothing else. Nice gig if you can get it. He also selects players who are banned for life from the national team.
Scotland have the players to beat the 94th team in the world but were not sufficiently competent to fix up a manager who already lives in the country but manages in Belfast, or conduct an adequate search for an alternative.
The result of this, is that fans stopped caring, as do many players, by the look of it. I don’t know a single person who was upset last night, the Scotland international football fascination is over. The once great endeavour of football as a self-contained unit in Scotland is over, everybody knows it. Send our players back to Lennoxtown as soon as possible, please.

BIG PACKY 1
Liverpools first at the European Cup was 64-65 and they got to the semi final where they played our old friends Inter Milan . Remember watching on black and white tv an exciting 1st leg at Anfield which the reds won 3-1. In Milan the Italians pulled out every trick to get through to the final with a 3-nil win . I think I remember Scottish goal-keeper Tommy Lawrence having the ball kicked out of his hands for one of the goals. So another English-british team failed to get to the big final.

Fairhill Bhoy, Ray Winstone and Frank McAvennie probably will be pally with their West Ham connection.
Good night all and sleep well.
Never watched The Sopranos, after reading back it’s now on my bucket list.

That’s certainly one time the Gods shone on us as opposed to the outright hunnery here which affected the history of CFC.
I’ve got a good Scouse mate who assures me that to this day it still hurts that we were first to the big cup. Liverpool were robbed in 65 for sure but they take solice in the fact we also beat Man Utd to the eternal kudos, and in some style.
Good shot DD.
Low Sun, the winner – I bet it @ the Leopardstown Christmas meeting last year, because of the low, blinding winter sun on the way to the course that morning – beat by a neck @ 10/1.
Mullins said the horse was on the for sale list at one time – £500,000 it won today.

From last night – I feel a pool challenge coming on…
Guttenberg- if you are disappointed watching The Sopranos, I will give you your money back…?
Bada Bing
Seen the odd episode but I suppose it’s best watched from the start.

A wee organised CQN pool tourney in Glasgow would be great. Let’s do it.

*refuse to call them seasons….
DD
Absolutely. Apart from the Hoot it’d be a good way for everyone to meet up, with an added competitive edge.

Just in fae the Vigil, when I left Notre Dame were 6-14 down, walked in the door as the game finished 19-4 tae the Irish, that’s 7 I repeat seven victories in a row.
The players, faculty and crowd then started singing:
“Notre Dame, our Mother
Tender, strong and true
Proudly in the heavens,
Gleams thy gold and blue.
Glory’s mantle cloaks thee
Golden is thy fame,
And our hearts forever,
Praise thee, Notre Dame.
And our hearts forever,
Love thee, Notre Dame. “

Reardons on Hope Street would be perfect central venue for a CQN pool tourney.

Wish I could have your luck with the bookies.
Last Sunday I had 5 aways 32/1. Waiting on Man City, penalty 5 to go. Driving to Inverness at the time, fist pumping in the rain.
Missed it obviously.
Story of my betting season so far.
Be some craic if the mighty Celtic win the league again this season.
8 in a row eh?
Reason to go berserk.
