Significant supporter relations initiative

577

Celtic’s statement yesterday (available on Phil Mac Giolla Bhain’s site) covered a lot of ground.  It explained the environment the club operates in, its policies and strategy, gave historical context of their objections to the Offensive Behaviour Bill and on-going opposition to the Act.  In short:

Where we are
How we arrived here
What we’re doing about it

Most importantly of all, the club again advertised the Supporters Complaints Review Panel, populated by Celtic fans to investigate and review complaints by fans.  The importance of this structure has yet to be fully understood but it is the most significant development in supporter relations since Brother Walfrid said, ‘How you do fancy starting a football club?’

I spoke to three prominent supporters yesterday about the schisms among us, all of us were so dispirited.  Fortunately, our good friend Jeanette cheered me up this morning and assured me we are pretty much on the one road (my words and not a cue for a song).

And it was Jeanette Findlay, not Krankie, before you ask.

The football will be back soon, hang on in there.

Celtic were 1-4 down at h t v 3rd Lanark. Frank Brogan ran riot in the 2nd half scored 2. Cant recall the other Celtic scorers.

Any of you financial guys advise if I should hold onto my sevco shares or off load them just now?

Sevco shares are for life, not just for Christmas.

I think this current life ends around the middle of next season when they run out of cash :-)

  5. Congratulations to Queen Of The South who won the 2nd Division tonight with a 6 – 0 away win and with 6 games to go.

Which reminds me that it should only be a few more days until the return of Dumfries & Galloway’s DBBIA?

  7. Sally is wondering why Chuck has not launched a full scale attack on the ban on signing players in the next window.

Firstly , as Sally is starting to guess ( that most sevconians already know ) he cannot be trusted to spend the few shekels left wisely.

Secondly, chuck had £20M in cash at year end ( unaudited – with £8m deferred income for season ticket money ). It was probably around £18m ( so £10m without ST money ). With losses of a £1M/month minimum ( not much gate money in the Q1 losses could be closer to £5M ) ; Chuck could be down to his last 5 mil — although he has Puma, cider, sports direct liquidation stadium naming for additional income. Wonder how much all this will bring.

Thirdly , which out of contact player is going to register , when coco the clown will be out before sept 2013.

As chuck probably knows he will have to pay cash up front for any signings. He would rather put the last 5 million on this weeks euro millions than pay up front for SFL level players.

Sally is performing fantastically well in the Sevconians Management role. With the tactical geniuses of McDowall and Durranty beside him , I really fear for the other teams in next seasons Ramsden cup.

I just wish Chuck would give Sally the last shekels to burn , so he can bring Sevco to admin just like the former ibrox club. If Sally is the reason for 2 administrations I would certainly like that I and all Celtic fans can show our appreciation.

Is it not time to invite Alistair to do the half time lottery draw at Paradise, so he can receive the ovation he deserves.

Hold, Sevco shares will be as rare as an honest politician in three months time. This will be due to staunch Sevcovians tearing theirs up for bog roll in order to get some value out of them. You could be holding the next ‘penny black’!

I’m willing to bet that Queens will get to the SPL before “The Rangers” do.

One of the many surreal highlights of this year was watching Man City v Real Madrid in the Champions league then, at full time, swithing over to BBC Alba to see Queens knock Them out of the Ramsden’s Cup. In Gaelic. At Ibrox. On 18 September 2013. http://www.qosfc.com/new_report.aspx?fixtureid=683
