Significant supporter relations initiative

577

Celtic’s statement yesterday (available on Phil Mac Giolla Bhain’s site) covered a lot of ground.  It explained the environment the club operates in, its policies and strategy, gave historical context of their objections to the Offensive Behaviour Bill and on-going opposition to the Act.  In short:

Where we are
How we arrived here
What we’re doing about it

Most importantly of all, the club again advertised the Supporters Complaints Review Panel, populated by Celtic fans to investigate and review complaints by fans.  The importance of this structure has yet to be fully understood but it is the most significant development in supporter relations since Brother Walfrid said, ‘How you do fancy starting a football club?’

I spoke to three prominent supporters yesterday about the schisms among us, all of us were so dispirited.  Fortunately, our good friend Jeanette cheered me up this morning and assured me we are pretty much on the one road (my words and not a cue for a song).

And it was Jeanette Findlay, not Krankie, before you ask.

The football will be back soon, hang on in there.

Sally is wondering why Chuck has not launched a full scale attack on the ban on signing players in the next window.

They can sign players in the next window. On 1st Sep 2013 window is still open.

Ban expires on 31st August 2013.

    Nothing really.

I tried one raw, bit like a raw tattie.

Then had one salted for a while, draws out the flavour, then marinated in olive oil, with black pepper, much better, but like a raw mushroom would be the nearest I can describe.

Still a complete rip off imo.

  3. Sipsini, pigs eat the truffles, trained dogs find them and lead the owner to them.

Watched a documentary, from Italy I think,

TET, get those dogs trained, and don’t let the wholesaler rip you off, sell direct.

Duncan was ahead of his time I think. A Celtic full back winning 13 Scottish international caps was an exceptional achievement.

Thirds Harley did move south, to Manchester City apparently.

    Good night all.

  11. Summa,

For me, Dunky rewrote the right back’s handbook.

    Years ahead of the game.

Prior to him, RB’s job was to boot whatever came into their territory; whether that was the ball, or the winger.

The thug, Bobby Shearer tried to copy his style, but hadn’t the class to do it.

Likewise, the bass playing Alex Hamilton of Dundee.

You won’t be surprised to know that those pair of imposters gained all the Caps.

Class ++, was Dunky Mc Kay

    G`day,Summa.

Dunky McKay was a marvellous player for Celtic.

Cultured and constructive football player.Very unusual for a full back.

Particularly when compared with the likes of Boaby Shearer.

Admired in much the same way as was Paddy Crerand.

Sadly missed out on the big Jock era.

Don`t know what happened to him.

Frankly I would have preferred him to Jim Craig,

    although Jim was faster.

  17. Third lanark 4-4 game…remember getting of train as usual at bellgrove and walking to celtic park that day…didnt celtic 4 goals in first half, and thirds scored their 4 in second half…..jees 50 years ago…..which makes me 65 now.
