Sinclair will respond overwhelmingly

563

I won’t tell you Scott Sinclair has not experienced racism until the last year, but I suspect it is highly unlikely he has had to endure the vitriolic abuse he has gone through as a Celtic player anywhere in England. He must be wondering what century he travelled to when encountering the kind of ‘people’ who celebrate their racism.

Yesterday his name and a racist slogan was pinned to a bonfire in Belfast. Humanity is weaker as a consequence.

Scott will travel to that town on Friday to play for Celtic, a game his team-mates will ensure goes the right way. What I can tell you about Scott, is that he will respond with overwhelming drive in the season ahead. Specifically, he will rip the turf up at Ibrox in September.

Good morning CQN from a bright sunny, furnace like Southern Sardinia. Forecast well over 40 degrees locally today….. beers will be taken.

I had a basement bed sit flat for a few years in Dundonald Road, and the girl in the ground floor flat upstairs used to help Claire Grogan with her maths homework – FACT!

  4. Had a wee catchup reading all the info provided by Resolutioners. Outstanding work guys. I still think you’ll be whistling in the wind at the end of the day as Rangers/Sevco normalisation wins through in this sectarian bigot infested little country of ours. But your efforts are still appreciated and I do hope that your work is rewarded.

My hunch on Paddy is that a deal is still possible. He’s back at City for pre season and that’s fine. But his possibilities there remain limited. Both of his social media photos that I’ve seen recently are photos of him in his Celtic kit. I genuinely believe and hope that if it’s not happening at City he will want to return here. I don’t see another big Club coming in for him and giving him assurances that he will play. Another one year loan with us might be the most realistic option. Paddy will know Celtic park will erupt if he comes back up the road and for a player that will be hard not to think about.

Moonbeams, I went on the the Glasgow Corpy 20 bus when I travelled to school. Just by chance many fine young ladies who attended Notre Dame school, were on the same bus.

PS : My abiding memory :Parking was an absolute nightmare at Notre Dame school a few years back, but the teachers were wonderful, turning shy young girls into well educated and articulate young ladies . Well worth a fight to retain it.

H.H.

  21. Morning all

I never spoke to Claire Grogan though I was familiar with her work and am sorry to admit I rather preferred looking at her to hearing her sing. However in the film Comfort and Joy she gave even Miss Joanne Whalley a run as my favourite ‘dream girl’ of the mid-80s.

My sister did know Claire though because they went to College together in the late 70s ( Langside I think it was) and they had a mutual male friend ( platonic ) and subsequently bumped into each other at his wedding c1985. Miss Grogan asked my sister how she had been since they had last met and was met with tales of the disasters and mishaps which seemed to follow my sister around in those years. Claire probably wished she had not asked but made the appropriately sympathetic remarks. My sister somewhat bitterly then asked Claire ‘have you been up to much these last few years?’ Which kind of shut Claire up and immediately caused my sister to wish she herself could evaporate on the spot.
