Some play to pay bills, others for history

126

Amid the unseasonal, end of season, revelry at Celtic Park tonight there is a serious business to take care off on the park.  Dunfermline were two goals down and out of the game the last time they visited but a pot-shot from outside the box unsettled Celtic and gave the game a tense conclusion.

They are a team with everything to fight for; these guys are battling for their standard of living tonight.  Joint bottom of the league, they could all be out of a job within months, with consequences for mortgage repayments, the food they eat and the pay-TV they watch.  Appetite for a point will be enormous.

Neil Lennon will have to use different motivational techniques to stir his men, who will have no financial worries but must surely be desperate to establish their professional status as title winners.  Scott Brown suggest this was the best Celtic team he had played in, which is a big claim considering an earlier incarnation twice led Barcelona in the knock out stages of the Champions League.  His team mates can provide further evidence to back up that status tonight.

In a gesture which tests the boundaries of the word magnificent, the Celtic fan who paid £5000 towards the Vanessa Riddle Appeal for the signed Celtic jersey we auctioned last week asked us to put it back up for auction again.

Auctions are a magnificent way to help get Vanessa the lifesaving treatment she needs but the cost of participating at the business end soon gets out of the reach of many fans. With this in mind, we have started an eBay raffle; you can win the jersey for the cost of a £1, or the entire purchase price of Rangers FC PLC.

There are no excuses to sit this one out, Vanessa needs your help, you would like to own a signed Celtic jersey, and you too can afford the kind of money Craig Whyte used to buy Rangers. Click here to participate.

Thank you for the dozens of response to the request for writers for CQN Magazine. I’m still working through them, will be in touch soon. Issue six, our Fit and Proper edition, is set to become a landmark collectors item. Don’t you think it would be a MAGNIFICENT gesture if….the 1st team pool, donated their winning bonus for the league to the Vanessa-appeal, maybe topped-up by some kind donations from the hierarchy/PLC etc… ???

    Hail! Hail!

Kev – sure it was posted on here a few times a while ago that the 1st team had made a significant donation to the appeal.

  2. Why is corruption wrong?

Rangers should be exempt from paying tax. They are a special case. All you lazy herd people out there just don’t understand. I would flush you all down my diamond encrusted gold lavatory bowl…I worked hard to funnel off all that tax payers money I’ll have you cretins know!

    I own the law.

    I bought the guardians.

If you’ve got the hard cash you should be free to do what you like…people like you who complain about corruption and greed just make me sick with your whinging faces all puckered up with sour resentment…aaahhh…what is wrong with you people: know your place. Get in line. NOW.

Its your fault not ours. Blame the computers if you have to blame something.

I hate all these tree huggers who condemn crony capitalism of Wall Street and the City. If you ungrateful peasants complain any more then you’ll get some of what them Greeks are getting…do you get me?

Accept all the monopolies of the future that are coming your way you bunch of shiftless slobs…who likes the taste of truncheon and rubber bullets?

We own you. Get over it. Accept it. Acquiesce like the good slaves you are!

Just keep paying the taxes so I can siphon them off into my my big deep pocket.

Do you know what you can do with the money I let you have? You can buy my products with it. You’ll buy what I tell you to buy!

That is why Rangers is my Club…the establishment institution.

Aye Ready…jist no ready to paying ma taxes yet…

  3. Dead and Loving it on

Was thinking about the tactics of Craig Whyte and the whole ibrox debacle

he appeared on the scene with his goggly eyes and drunk morningside accent

at that time I thought that he sounded a bit dodgy, he then wanted to unfurl the flag at ibrox and I thought that to be a wee bit embarrassing(he was only at the club a short time)hogging the limelight, just like his predecessor sir minty when he came down to the tunnel before the end of a game

I always thought that if wee Fergus had behaved like this, he would have been slaughtered by the press

sir David got portrayed as passionate about his football club

getting back to Whyte I have came to the conclusion that the man has mental issues , how would you explain the lies that the man has told, lies that he must have known would be found out

If anybody has a list of the lies that he has been caught out on so far i would be very interested

I am sure I read a statement from him a while back saying that the wee tax case has been paid

he is right up there with charles ponzi bernie madoff, david murray, bill clinton and all the other bare faced liars that names escape me at the moment

  4. That HMRC statement holds two fingers up to the suave billionaire, telling everyone in no uncertain terms that they are being treated like anyone else who avoids tax. If you withhold tax, HMRC tells them, you’re heading for trouble. Yes, heading for the wall.

  5. Am in the same position as Polacio said earlier, anyone know where I can get the fourth season of BB.

    Cheers.

  8. Stewart Regan

“It’s hugely sad and an unedifying spectacle for the

game when you have one of the biggest clubs in

the country actually going into administration – in

particular, some of the facts that are emerging

sending shockwaves around the world as far as

    Scottish football is concerned.”

“Undoubtedly football will continue. Football has

been around for hundreds of years and will

    continue to be around.”

My dear Mr. Regan, administration is the least of it. The key word is CHEATED which is what this lot have done to Scottish football for years. Sure morality or at least ethics can for once be more important than regulation, justice greater than the letter of the law. I thought the wasting of money on probes was the prerogative of lazy and non-committed politicians and not an necessity for a cash strapped organisation. Just do what the facts demand and get them out. Act independently and do what should so obviously BE done for the first time in Scottish football history and you yourself will have a very special place in that history. AS for the survival of the game in Scotland, unquestionably Scottish football will go on, a purer, more respected, fairer and BETTER game than it has ever been.

    The H** trust chief.

“It’s an absolute disgrace, an absolute affront to

the intelligence of the support and has trampled

this club’s history into the dust completely

    unnecessarily.”

“He must think Rangers fans button up the back.

Enough is enough, it’s time to go.”

I thought diarrhoea only came out of his *rse. This guy seems to excrete it from every bodily orifice. Listen son, we tried to tell you for over a year until we finally ran out of breath but you refused to go to Specsavers (don’t know why. They have sponsored your co- conspirators, match officials and referee committees, for a long time now) or to put some drops in your ears to get rid of the wax – easily purchase from any chemist. Instead you feasted on the disgusting TRIPE being fed to you by your LL pundits (drooling over succulent lamb at the same time as you were stuffing yourselves with the crap) dishes being provided by the good shepherds of your club who were fleecing you all this time. “None are so blind as they who cannot see” or don’t want to more like! “button up the back”? God forgive you, you scoffed the p*ss by the gallon loads till you were sick to listen to. Then you spewed it all over the place! But we are a support renowned for our charity especially in aid of the afflicted (deserving recipients please forgive me for linking you with these unworthies). You advise us that your guardians have you registered as lacking “intelligence” (look it up. It’s in the same dictionary from which the word Rangers has been deleted). I have to concede, with such a disability it is difficult to see your back when up your own *rse admiring yourself in the mirror.
