Having disposed of Celtic and AZ Alkmaar in earlier Conference League knockout rounds, Bodo/Glimt return to Rome tonight to face Roma (why we insist on calling the city one name and the club another, when they answer to exactly the same word is perplexing). In November, on Europa League duty, they drew 2-2 with Roma, after defeating Jose Mourinho’s men 6-1 in Norway.
Our season that has already delivered so much, has European blots in August and February. The defeats to Bodo/Glimt, in particular, were an indication of how much work still has to be done. I would like to see the Norwegians go even deeper into the tournament, if only to offer a reflective glow on our own performance against them, but that feels too much like grasping for straws.
SPFL chief exec Neil Doncaster said he expected Pass to Paradise and other clubs’ streaming services to stop for domestic viewers from next season. There remains a significant number of season ticket holders shielding and unable to congregate in large crowds.
The League is dependent on Sky TV’s largess here. Sky changed the terms of their contract to permit Pass to Paradise-type services, a return to business as usual was always on the cards. Before that happens, a Health Accommodation exclusion is worth exploring, especially now season ticket renewals have been issued.
I know one season ticket holder who has not attended since the socially distanced game against Dundee in August. What happens next affects real people, real fans and their exclusion from football.

Just a thought on BIG JIMMY trying to get re-instated on this blog
which I am in full agreement with the same as many other on this blog
as this site definitely misses his old school personality and wit
particularly calling out chumps on here who deserve it and his
love of Celtic in a blog that strays to politics too often in my opinion.
My point is that there must be more to this situation than meets the eye
because e mails sent from Big Jimmy, calls from various bloggers to have
him re-instated have all been met with silence and no replies or responses
from Paul67 and the moderators alike when it is common courtesy to even
reply to people
The situation stinks and is strange given some of the blogger comments
allowed on this site nowadays

Celticforever- The sad thing is Jimmy has emailed Paul67 on several occasions over the last 5 weeks or so and up until last weekend had no response.
I believe he has never been told he is barred either.

On the subject of posters being ‘banned from the site, I must admit I’d rather not see Paul or Mod discussions on here. I doubt a single post, explaining the reason, would be sufficient. As such, there would be pages of circular arguments back and forth with no real progress being made.
It may be that direct contact could be made, by email or similar, between site and the recently banned.
As I understand it, bannings are given for repeated violations of offensive language or personal attacks. Both still happen from time to time, though are not as bad as a few months back.
Perhaps the league position is helping!

MODS – in light of the revitalised grassroots campaign to re-instate BJ, can I ask for a bit of simple insight?
I’ve asked before, but what was written or done that has undone his blustery clubbiness so much, that he incurred full ex-communication from the parish ?

I’d like the Pass to Paradise to become a standard season ticket offering.
Wasn’t impressed with Paul’s use of “largesse” to describe the SPFL interaction with Sky.
Surely the overarching contract has provisions in place to allow the contract to be legally changed if both parties agree.
If so, start negotiating now.
Am struggling to see Sky’s issue here.
It’s a streaming offering to a confined group (albeit a group of 53,000)
None of whom, having paid for an ST would likely buy a Sky subscription if they haven’t already.
Small risk a season ticket holder would invite 3 mates round to watch the streamed game but hey ho.
And, has been mentioned earlier, in a very good season, Sky covers a maximum of 5 home games?
