The police behaviour both at football games and in so called implementation of the act have to be looked at.
In my experience, in many instances police training and communication is poor with the result that ordinary coppers on the beat or going about their duties have no idea what their obligations are, and have no idea what the rights of the ordinary citizen are in many instances.
Many policemen, again in my experience, believe that because they wear the uniform they have the right to …… well do something and tell other people to do something which no other person would have the right to do or ask.
At management level, the police decide to go about their business in a certain manner as a matter of procedure or policy. Very few politicans will take them to task on procedure or policy because they are not professional policemen or women, and so sometimes you have no choice but to tackle the police through the courts.
Further, some of the nicest and most decent police officers sometimes do things as a matter of automatic practice. Administratively, they will object to many major public events which they have no experience of and no prior strategy for such an event. Because something has not happened in the past it is viewed with suspicion, a lack of planning and so must therefore be objected to as a matter of course.
Only when you engage at senior level and isolate the groundless, and at times, nonsensical objections will you find a senior officer willing to listen and recognise that the automatic reaction is the wrong one and is without merit.
Until then, the police on the ground are often misdirected and left to make a mess of things.
On a seperate note, very strange ending to the Davis Cup Match between Canada and GB. Never seen anything like that before but I suppose if you hit the umpire with the ball in anger you get disqualified and that is that!
There is hurt and there is hurt, but the hurt they are enduring must be hurting them big time, they even have a thread about kicking us out of the game FFS, it’s superb reading so it is.
You are 100% correct, but as you say the foot soldiers will prevail, they have the delusion that the team need them :-)
Maybes they should try telling that to supporters of clubs in say Argentina where away support is virtually non existant and teams still manage without the support, me thinks it’s a tad selfish, but what would an exile know Eh ?

Hmmm, you need a wee bit of ‘cuteness’, tactical fouls like!
RANGERS stopper Rob Kiernan needed security protection at Ibrox on Saturday after coming under attack from a bitter mob of fans.
Kiernan — left out of Mark Warburton’s 18-man squad for the 1-1 draw against Ross County — was left shaken by the level of verbal abuse aimed at him from a number of supporters still angry over the midweek 4-1 hammering by Hearts.
Rob Kiernan was left out Warbs’ 18-man squad for Ross County clash
Sources revealed he was targeted as he made his way to the players lounge at half-time.
It’s believed several stewards had to intervene to prevent the flashpoint escalating.
The defender was left out against the Staggies with Philippe Senderos coming in for only a third start of the season.
It’s expected Warburton will speak to the 26-year-old about the incident when the squad returns to training at Auchenhowie.
Kiernan — who cost a modest six-figure sum from Wigan in 2015 — signed a contract extension last July.

Up in an hour or two and things to do, Baza hospital is becoming my second home these days, but it’s looking like not for much longer, things being sorted.
They have an amazing cafe at the hosi as well, they sell beer and wine in the place, didn’t see any spirits and it’s as cheap as it gets, two cafes, proper cafes, half a baguette with bacon, mucho bacon and tomato, toast with jam, 4.95 euros, a bargain imo.

Just reading Klopp has 5 and a half years left on an £8m a year deal, that could be expensive. Brendan not looking so bad now.
Be interesting to see if “brother” Thomson is sent to the naughty step for an honest mistake in Celtic’s favour.
1. Dembele is no Waghorn
2. See 1.
3. See 2.
There I said it.

WOWOWOWOW
All the claims of police harassment and intimidation won’t change a single thing.
The only way to bring the situation to the fore requires action and pressure from the chairmen of the away clubs.
You all know where I am going with this.
Deprive those clubs of our money.
Not only will it highlight the problem, but the Inner Circle of club chairmen have direct access to the law makers and law enforcers.
Dream on, you say.
That’s a step too far for our gallant foot soldiers, who enjoy the day out too much for them to actually take positive, tactical action.
The paraffin lamp.
Went to a few games from there back in 88.
I sound like an old timer western now

yeah probably the first modern socialist.
Defintely Jewish though.
We know this because:
He went into his father’s business.
He lived at home until the age of 33.
He was sure his mother was a virgin, and his mother was sure he was God.
But then again maybe he was Latino:
His first name was Jesus.
He was always in trouble with the law.
His mother did not know who his father was.
Joke
