Sunshine getting through

885

The sun is shining on Celtic Park as the Easter weekend gets underway, while Celtic face Motherwell tomorrow, who look like they have discovered the limits of Stuart McCall’s managerial abilities this spring.

After some difficult news this week, here’s a ‘Happy Birthday CQN’ message from Wee Oscar, which he recorded last month; an even bigger ray of sunshine than the one beating down on Scotland.

Enjoy the break, if you’re getting one.

I was quoting Auldheid’s post on Wednesday. My fault for not distinguishing this from my own words at the end, asking him about his “second administration” comment. My post’s not about punishment, it’s about logic.

  3. Here’s what they will argue:

The old company went into administration and then liquidation. Then the club was bought by the new company. So if the new company, which now owns the one and only club, goes into administration it will be its first time.

Same club. Different company so first administration and lesser penalty. The circle is actually square.

Put us in their position. Would we think we had got away with it.

I never mentioned exit from administration so not sure what your point is.

Unfortunately, the farewell letter attributed to Gabriel Garcia Marquez is quite widely reported as being a hoax.

Only problem is, you can’t square a circle. The Club and Company were incorporated in 1899, making them an entity. If the Company is liquidated, so is the Club. As the BBC said when attacked for telling the truth about them being a new club, if this were not the case, the Club would have had to have a committee, secretary, treasurer etc. of its own in order to participate in professional football. Rangers had none of these, meaning the Club could not have existed separately from the Company.

  8. A guy called Jesus, whether you believe in him as Son of God or not, gets crucified.

It then gets called ‘Good Friday’.

Can’t think of anything good about someone being barbarically executed in such a manner.

    Anybody able to explain?

  9. Mullet and Co on

If Rangers do enter administration.. that is the new entity and are docked 15 points instead of 25 then the football authorities see them as a new club. New club no connection to the previous clubs history.

Now in terms of punishment, the old club were not punished enough. Let the record show that the old club cheated in at least 5 league competitions and numerous cups. I still hold faith in the UTT and that this may be the catalyst for further review of the LNS debacle.

The Farewell Letter is not a hoax… just wrongly attributed

The poem turned out to be the work of an obscure Mexican ventriloquist named Johnny Welch. Welch had written the poem for his puppet sidekick “Mofles,” but somehow his name had been replaced by the name of the Nobel Prize winning author.

Welch admitted that he was not a great writer, but told Mexico’s InfoRed radio station that he was nevertheless “feeling the disappointment of someone who has written something and is not getting credit.”

  11. Rangers did indeed exit Administration……

In the same way that lots of my friends and family have exited this earth at Daldowie Crematorium or Dalbeth Cemetery.

Big difference is that I would love all of the latter mentioned back for even a day.

    The former ……..Dead forever

  12. My friends in Celtic,

welcome Beatbhoy, an excellent first post. Much too sensible for an Easter weekend. Normal service resuming.

A very happy Easter to all.

From the last thread, a couple of points:- While we rightfully laugh at the forces of darkness walking away, let us ensure that we do not follow in their footsteps. The demise of any form or incarnation of the ” rangers” must not be detremental to our club. KTF.

If we are unhappy with any ( or all ) aspects of how our club is being run, voice your concerns within the Celtic family, not as an outsider. Let us show we defiinitly don,t do walking away.

Also I do not think Mark Guidi was completely off the mark with Kris Boyd. Would it have been a more prudent signing than what we did sign? To play with Celtic requires a certain acceptable degree of personal responsibility. The fact he played for an old club which can now be viewed on the history channel maters not a jot to me.

We are after all a club inclusive to all. Could he have done a job for us should have been the only criteria.

hh to all. Remember who and what we are, and where we hope to go. More than a football team.

I see what set you off now. Second administration.

Fair enough but it does not mean I’m buying into the lie, it means I am less concerned about how it is presented than you are.

Again, welcome to the site. I reckon we are singing from the same hymn sheet on this,by and large.

They should never have been parachuted anywhere near Div 3. Nor the other options of Div 1 or SPL.

They should have been told to eff off, live by the rules, and come back after a minimum of three years of membership of an affiliated league and accounts to match.

    If a vacancy arose.

And if that vacancy arose because a club was in financial difficulty,I reckon a wee whipround would have sorted it.

  19. Greenpinata, thanks for the welcome.

Auldheid. Set me off? There’s me trying to be polite and respectful, while asking what I thought was a fair question, and you imply that I’m a rocket!! Smiley thing, at this point, ok?

  20. I was listening to the radio the other night there. Bob Marley’s “three little birds” was playing. I don’t know about anyone else but whenever I hear that song now I think of Sevco’s first game at Ibrox. Everyone in the stands belting it out. Meanwhile Charles and Imran are pissing themselves laughing at a) the size of the crowd, and b) how much money they are going to make out of this mob.

Yes, as the song says “don’t worry, about a thing, cos every little thing’s gonna be alright”

    It does make me chuckle.

Only Huns, MSM and the compliant SFA think they’re the same club

The notion that they are the same club is both preposterous and risible

It may , however , come back to bite them in the erchie if Sevco go into admin and they continue with the same club pretence and they are docked 25 points

I’ve all but given up hope of a fair footballing set up in Scotland …unfortunately CFC seem to care even less than me
