Supporters Association launch at Holyrood

850

The Scottish Football Supporters’ Association (SFSA), an independent body of pan-club football fans, yesterday launched the first independent evaluation of Scottish football governance, at Holyrood.

The SFSA’s nationwide survey will assess, for the first time, supporters’ views on the current position of the game, including the performance of the game’s governing bodies in Scotland.  The research will become an annual benchmarking & reporting exercise looking at all aspects of the game.

The SFSA’s online survey has been created in partnership with Prof. Dr. Axel Faix and Dr. Joachim Lammert, two experienced German academics who have undertaken similar evaluations on a national level in Germany and on a European level.

The SFSA, whose board includes former First Minister Henry McLeish; former MP and MSP Cathy Jamieson and Maureen McGonigle, Founder of Scottish Women in Sport and first female Scottish FA Council Member, has over 67,000 members supporting clubs across Scotland.

The SFSA is Scotland’s fans’ representative in The Football Supporters Europe network (FSE), an independent, representative and democratically organised grass-roots network of football fans’ in Europe with members in currently 48 countries across the continent.

You have invited to Have Your Say by getting involved with the project here.

Most importantly, you can participate in the survey itself here.

  2. Quick post as I am forced to use my phone for now.

I am very unhappy with Celtic suddenly raising ” health & safety” issues to suit their on agenda at this time.

Where was Celtics concern for safety when they sit back and allow our players to be attacked ?

Likewise, Celtic have taken at least two ticket allocations for ipox, putti g our fans safety at risk due to safety issues with roofs.

Also, where was the concern for our fans safety when huns are wrecki g toilets with electrical lighting at risk of catching fire ?

Where is the concern for OUR fans when Celtic allow hu s a ywhere near Celtic Park ?

That mob should have been banned years ago by various Celtic boards.

If Celtic do feck all a out ALL the cheating , I will be demanding ALL my previous season book money refunded to me.

I am disgusted that Celtic are punishing innocent Celtic fans, and if I was one of those fans, I would not only be demanding a full refund for this season , but I would be er pay a other penny I to Celtic .

My old season book was in the GB section…..I could have been o e of the innocents who Celtic are driving away from the club forever ?

    Disgusted.

  3. Big Jimmy.

Yeah, “health and safety” Pfft. Who cares about that these days, eh?

  4. Canamalar it looks like OCD obsession on

    Macjay,

to claim ‘our’ Celtic implies there has been a contribution more than lip service and blind faith that those at the top are doing more than simply filling their pockets and belly at the supporters expense, something I’m not convinced on,

Remember they are servants of the club nothing more and the club is nothing without supporters so maybe they should be doing their job of protecting the club against external threats before they start attacking supporters eh.

I mean how much money do you think the club lost through cheating and fraud by the SFA and the hun ?

That agenda doesn’t suit them because they are as corrupt as the SFA and the hun so put a couple of ringers into the GB have their ringers provide pointless banners that distract from the real issues and create division.

And why you may ask do I believe this to be the case, quite simply, the board are in charge of security at the gate, nothing gets in to the stadium without their say so, so if banners are unfurled at games then the board ok’d them and are responsible, not those who unfurl them. This is very simple deductive logic, there are no leaps of faith needed here.

So try and think like a big logical grown up for a change and stop being led around by the nose like a moron, the banners are never a surprise to security or the board who are provided daily security updates, they are unfurled and shown to security before entry and usually a day or two before the game, then stored inside the stadium in a wee cupboard reserved for the GB displays.

Now why would the Plc want the club reprimanded by the meeja and UEFA, what else would the board like to distract attention from ?

The two sides of the same coin suits the Plc as much as it suits the SFA baw deep in corruption that’s why and any chance to create division is always the the way of the corrupt. Age old distraction game.

That item supports a theory of mine regarding the inability of those who follow that core belief to accept they are guilty of wrong doing.

Let’s face it if the consequences of any wrong doing were eternal damnation who wouldn’t want to crrate a delusion that it had never happened?

But what an insane belief is it that human beings can be immune from making mistakes, missing the mark or in biblical terms not commit sin.

Now on the Catholic side of the fence the human condition is recognised more.

“I am not worthy” is a core belief, it is part of the weekly ritual, but it is such a hopeless one the concept of a loving and forgiving God has been created and it takes its form in confession and communion. It’s what protects from being unworthy in the eyes of the God we believe in.

Thus there is no need to deny wrong doing because of the fear of the consequences, so the fear of eternal damnation is not as strong for a Catholic.

What is created by the two core beliefs are those who live by the letter of the law whom Christ described as Pharisees. They know the words back to front but not the spirit behind them. It’s not for nothing Pharisees experience woe and those followers of the spirit experience joy.

Now to get out of the bind of both beliefs and live life in the spirit of God, free from fear and full of love, it is necessary that where a core belief is not producing the full life everyone believes it will, we surrender to the idea that we just don’t know anything and allow life to teach us what works and what doesn’t.

No reply from JP so sitting here on tenderhooks waiting to see if my mini and nephew have been classed as knuckle draggers and are excluded from the match on Wednesday

    Section 111

As this is lower section it seems they are caught in the cross fire or friendly fire as it was alluded to yesterday

Thanks to Bateen Bhoy and Cowiebhoy for the kind offers

No flounce from me, I took more meds and slept like a baby, tramadol and amitriptyline have that effect on the body

  7. Normally I would rather the first leg of a Euro tie was away from home but in this case I am quite happy we are at home on Wednesday.

Just feel we are still a couple of games away from properly clicking.

Apparently Rosenberg are not the team they once were but still expect them to be big and strong and dangerous at set piece.

A two goal lead should be enough to see us negotiate the away leg and get through to the final qualifier.

Funny enough a caller to Clyde last night was a steward explaining the difficulties of stopping folk who want to smuggle banners etc into the ground from doing so.

His solution was a thorough search of everyone. That comes at a cost of course because to allow folk to be seated in time you need more stewards or risk losing supporters who cannot or will not turn up earlier.

His explanation based on his experience sounded honest to me.

Celtic PLC .. You need to engage ..

As a club we’re doing brilliant on the football park ..

Commercially we’re doing well off it ..

As a Supporter I passionately believe that we should

be a Democratic One Member One Vote Football Club, owned

100% by Celtic Supporters and not even the 50+1German Model ..

This might take 5, 10 or even 20 years but it will evolve ..

Currently 15% of Celtic is already owned by Venture Capitalists,

who can have a seat on the Celtic Board if they want one ..

Now the Plc have in my opinion done well generally, particularly

in view of the Illegal Cheating that’s gone on for at least the 20 years ..

However, where the Plc have badly let down the Celtic Support,

is in not realising that the Celtic Support is its greatest strength ..

For a Plc to continue to ignore the Celtic Support which has put over

£500 million into the club, and yet there is still no Celtic Supporter

Representative on the Board is absolutely scandalous ..

Not only is it scandalous, but it has held Celtic back in so many ways ..

The club must realise that in 2017, the Support is the Club’s greatest

strength .. There are plenty of incredibly talented Celtic Supporters who

have the skills needed, to help bring the Celtic Board and the

Celtic Support together as one ..

Recent events have highlighted even more, that we need Board Room

level Fan Representation, that can give leadership, strategy, guidance

and direction to unite the Celtic Support against our common enemies ..

Please Celtic its 2017, quickly grab the opportunity and bring a Fans

Representative onto the Board as a matter of priority ..
