Sweeten the medicine, Celtic

991

There is an unusually sombre tempo head of tomorrow’s Champions League last 16 tie, a consequences of the 0-3 reversal at home three weeks ago and the general sentiment around Scottish football this week, but this match is an excellent test for both manager and playing squad.

We are a Champions League team again with aspirations to achieve at this level next season.  Having finally overcome the hoodoo of never having won away from home in the competition, we must use occasions like tomorrow to continue our growth in the competition.

We defended our 18-yard line in the Camp Nou and almost got away with a point.  The plan was wrong in Lisbon, where a talented Benfica controlled midfield and recorded a narrow win, but the win against Spartak in Moscow was deserved.

Celtic might not be able to qualify for the quarter finals but they can win the match tomorrow; this is an achievable objective which would sweeten the inevitable medicine.

Over the feckin moon, was strugglin a tad, the pot was getting ratehr empty.

  2. Rangers accounts show £391,000 broadcasting rights.

I thought they weren’t due any cash from Broadcasting rights?

Any other 4th division club get this kind of cash?

Any other SPL club get this kind of cash?

These accounts were only up to December so how much of the TV deal are they getting?

SPL clubs take from the TV deal has dropped by 9%.

I have said many’s a time, leave the top divs alone, the bookies want you to bet there, better odds can be had down the leagues, there are always at least a couple of games they get wrong every week, they always go by league standings, never too much on form, they do in the top leagues.

    As Timbhoy says, to get one right every week, we would all be squilionairs >}}}

  4. Just watched B. Dortmund (before I head to bed) – with a favourable draw (avoid BM) they could go far.

Was the draw I wanted – rather than Juve (140K+ crowd over 2 ties).

Never mind – always next year!!

TET, I must have missed that. I’ll pass that on to mrs acgr, as she’s the one who trawled dundee, arbroath and carnoustie looking for your swag.

    Thanks for that bud.

  6. Don’t know, but as these accounts were up to December, this was not included.

Would these include all of the £1 podcasts on Rangers TV??

TET ,I´ve been a gambler like yourself for nigh on 50 years now & it´s the devil´s game but I must be honest I´ve done no too bad out of it.

I quite like the trading side of it now on the likes of Betfair.IE find a good home team & back them heavy then trade out for a decent profit.Usually do pretty well that way.

My only problem is when I get a few drams too many then I start playing exchange games late at night with disastrous consequences.

The following sunday I had 4 trebles and 2 four horse accums all riding on one horse,Sergeant Mattie the fav in the bumper and it was 2nd!!!!!!!

In total I had picked 7 winners but all were rolling on to that horse in various combos

all 10 and 20 euro bets but for my seven winners i managed to lose 100 euro.

No offence pal but if you had layed your last horse on Betfair you could have guaranteed yourself at least 675 € no problem.

Gambling has bought where I live, had I not done ok, I wouldn’t be here just now, my mate owned a shop in Dublin for many’s a year, he was good to me, as for the football, I try my best, don’t win a fortune, you can’t, but get by, don’t lose too much would be nearer the mark.

    Yup thats right,

and if I had backed all the horses in singles I would have won and if I had done the eight picks (seven winners and one loser) in all combos of trebles and fourfolds I would have won.

Hindsight me auld flower is a great thing.

Yeh i cant really use BF out here any more but hey we all bet different. In fact it´s very difficult to get a bet out here now with Spain´s new internet gambling laws so I´ve got to use different tactics but at least it keeps me away from the cursed Exchange Poker etc.

I know what you mean,I´ve been here since 2004 & it´s mostly thanks to Betfair & the bookies so I´ve retired about 11 years early .Loving Spain but I really miss going to Celtic park but get all their games out here & i´ve found a brilliant gambling niche but big money but well worth it.

  22. Whatever as_I_thought may be, his posts were fodder for anti-Tims everywhere, not least the scabarous journos who delve the Celtic forums for gems they can twist to any Hun advantage.

As far as viewing his future contributions on here, i’ll stick witht he tried and tested formula until proven different; if it phrases its contempt for Celtic issues like a Zombie, and posts like a Zombie, it’s a Zombie.

Regards Man U – awesome incompetence from the runt of a ref who could never surely have ever played an adult eleven-a-side game at any level after seeing his interpretation of the collision, although Roy Keane was stirring it big time on ITV by declaring it a definite red, perhaps just trying to wind up Swalex. He’ll certainly have alienated a few of his United admirers.

All-German CL final at Wembley; how amusing that would be. Unless we pull of history tonight that is ;))
