There is an unusually sombre tempo head of tomorrow’s Champions League last 16 tie, a consequences of the 0-3 reversal at home three weeks ago and the general sentiment around Scottish football this week, but this match is an excellent test for both manager and playing squad.
We are a Champions League team again with aspirations to achieve at this level next season. Having finally overcome the hoodoo of never having won away from home in the competition, we must use occasions like tomorrow to continue our growth in the competition.
We defended our 18-yard line in the Camp Nou and almost got away with a point. The plan was wrong in Lisbon, where a talented Benfica controlled midfield and recorded a narrow win, but the win against Spartak in Moscow was deserved.
Celtic might not be able to qualify for the quarter finals but they can win the match tomorrow; this is an achievable objective which would sweeten the inevitable medicine.

Moonbeams, fair point, but disagree.
Doing fine, enjoying the blog. Tough day, another tomorrow. Bit of respite tonight.
As-I-Thought given a rough time earlier for reporting what he saw, any sort of rowdiness on a plane nowadays won’t be tolerated, so learn the lesson Bhoys.
Hope everyone else enjoys the trip, stay safe.
We can you know, we can do it.
As_I_Thought, sunday I talking about, after I get chucked out of my hotel for behaving badly:-) I’ll have about four – five hours to fit in pints and drams provided I can get “hail hail sister” to drive the acgr mobile.
Have a blast and make it loud for us bhoys back home tomorrow night.

Bada – 100% correct
Lot of mutual appreciation society between Mourinho and Fergie of late
Will be taking Ronaldo with him

Offski I’m up at 5am to catch the moonhowlers at it.

Roy Keane was never afraid to give it out, and he did, frequently, and deliberately with malice to boot. How he can agree with that referee and say that was a straight red is beyond me, nani was looking for the ball, the player came in behind him, ok he caught one on the chest, it was a yellow at best, he rolled around on the floor, made the most of it as they do. But for Roy Keane, of all players, to say that was a straight red, I am amazed.

I suppose we just have to accept that Celtic, like every other club, has its share of sanctimonious, supercilious and self righteous fans.

red card every time..
Serious foul play..
“a tackle that endangers the safety of an opponent must be sanctioned as serious foul play”

It wasn’t a tackle.

Thought Roy Keane was spot on tonight-ended the hobby foreigner ref debate before it got started. Then he committed the ultimate sacrilege-he said the German and Spanish leagues were better than the EPL

Correct.
Game changing decision.
Slight sniff of bookie?
!!Bada Bing!!
Jose is on record as saying that “he fell a little bit in love with Celtic in Seville”. Mibbe it’s NFL’s job he’s after and not Fergie’s!

7/4 or something like that – got a pass on 3rd attempt and told to lose 8 kilos!
Keane was brill and they dont like the truth!!!
A wee bit of balance about the Heathrow incident.
It is stupid of fans to risk missing a game when they have had several warnings about their behaviour on flight.
It is also stupid of the plane personnel to get too heavy handed about a wee bit singing.
What will the non-football fans on the flight think of the “so-called greatest fans in the world”. (the phrase used by as i thought)
I’d guess they’d think both of the thoughts I expressed. They’d be annoyed at the undue delay but they’d apportion blame equally between the daft fans and the heavy handed aviation authorities.
Aeroplanes regularly transport screaming weans, stressed traveller’s who drink too much, over-indulged rock stars, and pissed holidaymakers. They do not enjoy papping too many of them off a plane and inconveniencing other passengers but they look on football supporters as a soft touch.
And yes I have seen bad behaviour from our support. Never saw much mileage in trailing it over the blog though. What influence, for good or bad, will that have?
Off to bed…dreams and songs to sing.hh
Morinho…”……and Celtic are Celtic”
Voguepunter- Ha ha, one of my favourite Radio Scotland moments, The Old Rangers v Sevilla, thought wee Chick was going to self combust!
Twomacaroons, a fair share of the blog agree with keane that it was a sending off, the fact that he wasnt shy to put the boot in doesn’t make his opinion less valid
Look at MWD’s post above. Scroll down the list of donators and find the poster that everyone has jumped on the “your a hun” bandwagon tonight about. Then log into the wee oscar just giving page and look at the amount this poster donated. Then hang your head in shame for your stupid hun accusations.
How do I know this? I know this because he put his donation there at my request in return for a rare bottle of whiskey after a chat on here about a month ago.
As a relatively new poster on the blog, one thing that stands out is that when things are not going our way in the fight against the hun, in the BTC, in the title stripping, in any game we don’t hump the opposition senseless, we turn on ourselves.
Very un-Celtic behavior.
HH Celtic men and wummin, fight the huns not ourselves.

For once I sort of disagree with you, I like the concede bit, that would do for them.
I can’t get the head around the club giving in to the cheating and the corruption.
They have stolen from us, they have been caught, and we have been publicly humiliated for daring to question them, sorry mi amigo, not for me.

Monitoring your own blood pressure is the key.
“Normal” is 120 over 80.
Bookies gave 2/1 man u going thru. They always get it right.

In an earlier post to pfayr I said something along the lines my definition of bad behaviour is prob different from the pilots. I have no motivation other than hopefully bringing to light an unsavoury incident which I feel brought shame on our support.

Tell me about it, not been to bed and have been very boozy all day, only going down hill from here.
mrs j said it was a def red. End of!!!

Cheers for the info. Is the boy from Reunion? His surname looked a bit Romanian (in the gloaming)
Anyway, well informed! News travels quickly to Vegas, it seems.
I still find it strange that you are so well informed about obscure aspects of the youth set up whilst posting inaccurate info on our main team traveling to Italy.
Do you think you are laying on the false beard a bit thick?

Sammi – ledley – victor – ? – Forrest.
? Will it be Kayal or Commons?
I thought Swalex was slow to react after the sending off . Utd were comfortable with eleven, when nani went off mourinho brought on modric who was excellent then after going ahead he brought on pepe to shore it up . I also thought it was a strange starting eleven but then my dad used to say even big jock made odd team selections at times
Man U second best … End off ( and me with barca sympathy ) Roy the Bhoy … Ripped Dixon an southgate a new one live!!! I got barca at 3/1 in play and tomorrow I’m gonna sit down wi ma wee Bhoy in our hoops and cheer on the hoops ( win lose or draw)
Because its nights like tomorrow that make our fans of the future ain’t voodoo it just does and my wee Bhoy is excited knowing that. Tomorrow is OUR night is not from the …. Not from SPL … EPL ..UEFA… FIFA … It’s
….. Just a wee Bhoy and his da
Hail hail
Kojo is from Coatbridge SFTB,
he read too many comics as a kid.
This is a little known fact. He was the year above philvis at Columba high school.
Keane called bit right. It was a wild tackle. High and late. Red card every time.
Well done to him for speaking his mind instead of toeing the EPL party line.

Cheers 6/4 it is – been on the 2.5mg pep pills for 10 years + weight been the same for 5 – was a bad day to be tested after LNS verdict! :-)
Embdae know which NEBOSH Course is best suited for oil/ gas Health & Safety line of work? Thanks in advance.

I made two post during the incident I didn’t mean it too take over the blog, sorry. Other posters have suggested I’m talking out my a**. I feel I should defend myself in this respect. Even someone saying you can quote a seat number that means nothing, what do I have to do? Take a photo of my boarding pass?
And it’s not a phrase I’ve made up myself. It’s a title befitting out support but I don’t think we should rest on out laurels and assume it will always be like that.
HH
Tough luck with the penalty decision , they couldn’t care less when it’s us and would probably patronise us by saying something like , at this level you can’t make challenges like that
TET
Not for giving in – want to see an expose by the Club that brings the clear-out at the SFA to a head. Want worldwide coverage and if conceding the Cup Final was the means to do it – I would happily welcome it!
