I don’t know anything about Stefan Johansen, who is one of several central midfield players Celtic are tracking, but I’m pleased we’re scouting for this area. There’s no question we are missing a penalty box predator but you could make a case that the sense of calm and control exerted by Victor Wanyama in the middle of the park is a more telling absence.
Nir Biton has all the potential to get there eventually but it’s going to take him time. He reminds me of Ki, who a couple of seasons ago was fifth choice central mid for Celtic, behind Brown, Wanyama, Ledley and Kayal. This season I’ve watched him collect and distribute, close space and bring shape to a struggling Sunderland team.
I’ve also watched a bit of Barry Robson since his return to Aberdeen. Despite his advancing years he remains one of the most intelligent footballers in the game. His arrival in the Celtic midfield six years ago changed Celtic into a winning team. You don’t need Pele for this role, just a tactically aware athlete.
How many accountants does it take to tell you that losing circa £1m per month is not a good idea? Lots, apparently.

jude2005. They get right into our hearts if you are a dog lover we lost one of ours in summer due to an accident but when I think of her it still hurts like hell. H.H.
Hope that NFL now has the courage to play these lhads in the coming weeks, before the split!

The MSM can believe what they like
I don’t listen to their phone ins I don’t buy their papers …more like me and they’d be out if business
Why you care what they think is beyond me
Jude.
So sad mate.
Happened to my girls dog few years ago.
Give her a few weeks to let her try to come to terms with it.
Then remind her that there are lots of dogs looking for a loving home.
Awe the best.
Big Sean.
Gordon_J : not sure what we get financially from this tournament, but the fact that we could skip a league game shows the arrangement we have with the SPFL. We’ve passed on more of the domestic tv money to the other clubs, but only if we’re allowed to go and compete in these types of tournaments.

Young Heron got bit of a roasting off the left winger early on. But settled and played well overall.
Come on you bhabes in green.
Henderson looks ready to be a permanent member of the first team squad.
Likewise Fisher and Atajic.
Also hope young Fraser gets some run outs as his fitness improves.
Future looks bright.
PFayr .Its maybe the amount of reading about them I do on CQN. H.H.

“You ghuys think this is cheesy
“Wait until the Ramsdens Cup if the orcs win it …..”
It is going to be an extremely weird experience for the Zombies, even in the parallel universe they inhabit, turning up for the final of a competition where no one knows what the trophy looks like.
A big day out at Easter Road right enough…
Sure you know that SSN & Shortbread are gonna talk it up like its the most important that’ll be competed (cue the irony) for this year, so much so that their commentator’s will forget to turn up for their coverage of the World Cup.

Your match updates have been missed (well here they have )
hope you are feeling better

Hail Hail
great performance from the lads.
would like to see that effort everyweek from Celtic.
What a cracking afternoon, out of nothing.
I was scathing when I heard we were cancelling the Killie game to play a mini-tournament in Turkey.
But my God, look at the positives. A sound encouraging win against Trabzon, and our second-string taking a full-ish strength Galatasaray to penalties in their own yard.
Those players today will have gained so much from this. And I am looking at the future with joy and confidence knowing that my beloved Celtic have a new generation of heroes ready to break through.
In fact I hope today is looked back on in future as the day they DID break through.
God Bless the Celtic.
“most import trophy”
sorry bout that.
Jude, sometimes it can take a while to get over it. I’m still sore having lost my wee dog last summer.
After seeing just how much of a raw diamond Big Balde is, it’s even more important that we bring in a Forwards coach. Not just for Amido, but also Pukki, Atajic and the rest of the young lads.
We’re well covered in all other areas of the field, so why not?!

Dundee utd players like Gauld, mackay-Steven, Robertson rightly gettin plaudits this season but our kids have wiped the floor with their academy and every other academy this past 10 years. Our bhoys don’t get the chance due to champions league, pressure to beat the Huns when they were in our league.
I’m not sayin every one of our youths will become a top player but we should have been blooding them this past 2 seasons in spl.
Beram kayal will do well to play for us again after that performance from biton and Henderson!
That was great, PRIDE and desire, displayed in the Hoops by those young men.
When is our next game ? Can’t wait !
Jude2005…
Good point.
Wasn’t it great to watch a player play with his head UP!!!

It is Sevco’s first final, so I can understand the excitement in the media.
Playing at a ground where there are no hedges or holes in the roof will be a big thing for them as well.
Fantastic achievement. Some of our young hoops could go on to be the next batch of quality street kids given the chance.
If our first eleven had got a 0-0 result away to Galatasaray in a CL game we would be over the moon about it.

i am fine pal
good show from the lads tonight
the future is Green and White

Maybe were getting ahead of ourselves as the sons of Zomb may not even be around come the Ramsden Chip Final.

Hope your recovery period is quick and you are back posting soon. Today was a great boost to see do may young Hoops players display both fight and pride.

sorry did you call
Jude..,
Thought the youngster should have went down the second time he got one on the face, should have been red without going down but would have confirmed and the ref could not have ignored it the way he did.
I’m sure Sevco mark II will have a full house for their first ever final, the Govan regional pub league final.
In fact Ibrox will be packed to the rafters, which is all that’ll be left of the roof by then.
It’ll still be plastered all over SSN, of course….
You would need a black belt in greetin-facedness to take negatives from our performances in the Antalya Cup this week but some are managing the feat.
I also see the concept of a forwards coach is still holding some sway. Wonder how so many fitba teams managed without one for so many years. Maybe we need a throw-in coach and a different coach for right and left backs.

Franny, sorry did you call????????
Aye pal, all week, communications systems here are still in a state of flux. No big deal really, just to let you know that my flight arrangements have been changed………….
Been watching out for you on CQN as well but no show…….
Understand that you are busy with more pressing issues……….
Anyway, not that important
