The future is Scott Bain’s, if he can grasp it

842

It’s just another story of a player sitting in the stands at Dundee before moving to the bench at Hibs and then a four year contract at Celtic.  All in less than four months.  Scott Bain is 26 years old and were it not for a personal issue with Neil McCann would still be at Dens Park.

Instead, he will see out his 20s as a Celtic goalkeeper.  He is 11 years younger than Dorus de Vries (37) and 9 younger than Craig Gordon (35).  He caught Brendan Rodgers eye and is now a development project for the manager.  The future is his, if he can grasp it.

Congratulations on your new contract, Scott.

Auf wiedersehen,Pet. Marvellous series which introduced us to legends like Timothy Spall,Kevin Whateley,Jimmy Nail,Tim Healey.

    But more importantly…

    Lysette Anthony.

  2. Matt, i’m the eejit that you bump into in the street because i’m staring up at the architecture. Mouth agog.

    Victorian Glasgow is something else.

It wiz me who moved the McLennan Arch from St Margaret’s to roon the front of the court. Still got the drawings.. Before it got to Gleaga Green it was the entrance façade for an hotel on Ingram Street.

    JOHN51,

    Well described….I felt you pain!

    I’ afraid I’m thinking it’s an age thing….only 4 months ago I left my wallet in a taxi…

I have a vision of it hanging in my hand as I was paying…..and then nothing after getting distracted by a well-meaning brother-in_law with his fiver contribution…

    Gone… with between 3 and 4 hundred pounds….cash I hadn’t spent on holiday the week before…

With age comes dopieness I think.

But OldTim67…..you were one of the first to welcome me onto this site in the summer of 2008…..

Just caught your wee snippet earlier about the health…..thank goodness you’ve caught whatever it was that floored you.

    Although we’ve never met in person…I have a person in mind…a guy I’ve thought I’d like to meet…since 2008!

    AOW

I know the feeling. I look up and just beyond my sightline, just on the edge of my hearing I can hear someone whispering, telling tales of lives lived, triumphs, disasters and survival.

The story of the arch is one I have often chatted about while sitting in the doorway of the mortuary after leaving the whistlin kirk. Must remember my Ouija board the next time. :)

    Hail Hail

Your membership precedes mine by about six months or so. But I have had the pleasure of meeting OLDTIM67 once or twice, even if you are yet a stranger.

And when I use the word pleasure,it isn’t hyperbole or lie. It barely scratches the surface. If you get the chance,if you’re available when he calls a BV FRIDAY,move Heaven and Earth to get there.

    You won’t regret it!

    FAIRHILLBHOY

Yes,she was in that too. Probably not the best actress in the world-if far from the worst-but wow. Right up there with Stevie Nicks as far as I was concerned. I can pay her few higher compliments!

  14. Matt. lol. We all end up in the mortuary.

It’s the gargoyles that get me. Who knew the huns went so far back.

Interesting fact – the guy who was the expert on removal of said arch was an American, a fuckin American man.

Gordon – as it turned out – was the regular expert on Adams and now gives guided tours about same.

  15. fairhill bhoy on

BMCUWP-I was only 13 when Auf wiedersehen came on the tv,can honestly say her acting abilities never crossed my mind.Glad to see the weight is gaining again and you’re still off the fags? You know it makes sense ?

I think it’s fair to say that her acting abilities never crossed my mind either-you might have noticed!!!

  17. Regarding.huns

Hun to myself,is a bitter uneducated person whom is disparaging to the Catholic faith and to CELTIC fc because of the former

Bluenose is a guy/lassie who supports their team without the above(not many)

Few acquaintance who I would say are huns but they think different, unlike Edward ursurs who imo was a bluenose.

Not a frequent poster but love it my fellow tims.

Marvellous book about that period, called YEAR OF THE FRENCH,by Flanagan. Can’t recall his first name.

It was made into a miniseries a while back. Might still be around on YouTube, etc. But the book is well worth a read.

2 years after this rebellion was crushed in Ireland…..they started evicting people in Kildonnan….1800.

    50 years after that ….

10, 000 people had been evicted from one valley in Strathnaver, Sutherland.

    My people.

And people wonder why I’m, (we’re), partial to a rebel song..and detest the Union.

And I haven’t even started on the rest of the highlands and islands.

STILL can’t stand SNP, Labour, Tory and the rest of the opportunists, politicians and councilors; arseholes one and all.
