The manager more valuable as bait than a coach

429

The Newcastle United takeover is a depressing manifestation on many fronts but with some money behind them, ever-mediocre Steve Bruce’s time in charge may be coming to an end.  Bookmakers have installed one-win-in-nine-trophies expert, Steven Gerrard as their favourite.  I sincerely hope he remains in Glasgow.

When Brendan Rodgers left for Crisptown, Celtic received £9m in compensation, a fee that bridged some of the gap between Europa and Champions League money that season.  I expect Newco would receive the same for losing Gerrard.

Gerrard was perhaps saved from the sack when the league programme was curtailed in 2020 with boos from the Ibrox support as his team left the field to another defeat.  Since then, he, along with Callum Davidson at St Johnstone, have profited from Celtic’s collapse, although Davidson helped himself to twice as many trophies.  Faced with a functional and appropriately prepared Celtic, his teams have unerringly collapsed.

I see some speculation about Newco’s accounts this week (not far off my expectations).  When they are eventually released, few will argue they need a compensation figure in the region of £9m more than any player or coach at the club.  Gerrard is managerial bait.  Let’s hope Newcastle go for our old pal, Eddie Howe, currently third favourite.  They seem so well matched.

In the league return match against Aberdeen on October 3, Kyogo Furuhashi marked the opening goal with his chest on the cross ball. Expected to play an active role in the World Cup Asian Qualifiers

Mizunuma As with the start of movement, the shooting technique is also wonderful. It is very good at matching the ball from the side, kicking with both feet, and has punching power.

Furuhashi Thank you. But in the old days, I often missed shots, and everyone often called me “a man who doesn’t score goals” (laughs).

Mizunuma ”The man who doesn’t decide” is mass-producing goals in both J League and Scotland (laughs). In your second year as a professional in FC Gifu, you scored 11 goals by the end of July when you moved to Kobe. Double-digit goal for 3 consecutive years in J1. Did you practice shooting?

Furuhashi When I was in Gifu, I stayed until the end and practiced shooting.

Mizunuma Director Oki (Takeshi) at Gifu?

Furuhashi That’s right. Just in the first year, when Mr. Oki became the director. Originally I was planning to play on the side, but in the first practice game I suddenly got a turn in the forward … I thought I’d try it, but I couldn’t do it, so I went to tell him that I wanted to play on the side ( smile). Mr. Oki gave me a lot of chances from the opening, and I became more aware of the goal to win the team. Since I went to Kobe, I have less chance to practice shooting, but I was honed with a high awareness of shooting during the practice.

Furuhashi in the FC Gifu era (2018). “I still can’t forget the words that said,’I’ll take responsibility,’ at any time. I still have regrets that I could get a little more results when I’m working together,” said the commander at the time. Thanks to Oki, who is © ︎ Getty Images

Is it since the Kobe era that you have been playing more in Mizunuma FW?

In the season when I joined Furuhashi (Kobe), I was the first to appear at the top of the away game against Nagoya. From that point on, the chances of participating in the forward gradually increased, and it felt like I was repeating it from the time I was invited by the representative in March. In the Gifu era, I had a strong desire to go out on the side and dribble, but after gradually becoming aware of the joy of starting to move, I also began to want to compete in the forward. I think that it has changed so much because I met Andres and others.

Mizunuma: That encounter has led to success in Japan and Scotland. That should be fun, because (pass) comes out as a matter of course where you want it. Did you meet such a player at Celtic?

Furuhashi Everyone has high intensity and high technology. But the one who feels missing is Tom Rogic, the Australian national team. Of course, the technique is seen properly, it is not Andres, but I have the impression that the ball will come out whenever it starts moving. (Continued to the second part)

  2. St Stivs 👏 The wee man is a class act. I reckon if fit he will score about 25 goals this season, and probably miss about the same good chances ☺ I can’t see him hiding at anytime HH ☘

  3. when he says barganing , i thingk it means anticipation, the gamble to be in the right space.

  4. Spain v France, first half Spain 67% possession. Against Italy 75% possession full game. Have a few quid on Spain but I know possession does not mean goals.

  5. Gutted, had the brandy and sombrero out for about 2 minutes, France deserved it albeit having 34% possession.

Watched the Aberdeen game from last week yesterday, Ramsay the Aberdeen right back looks a better player than Patterson.

The other thing I noticed was Ajeti pulling the defender out for Jota to come in for the winner. Worked on in the training ground. Celtic fans apart from some shite songs were superb, especially the hymns at the end.

Thanks, the judgement day is next week though, she has an appointment in Granada, this is the big one, it’s either good or bad news, that’s the bottom line, I have everything crossed, I have been making Rosaries to beat the band just to take my mind off it, but I can’t, but it’s life and it is what it is, she has an inoperable anurisim, they will only operate when it’s too efin late, given her mother and aunt die from the same thing she is a wee bit worried, as for me I thot I was a bit more stable, sadly no, struggling to handle things, hence making Rosaries every day.

Eff me, if Celtic were doing good things may not be so bad…..

    Take care

Neil Lennon didn’t drop the want away players because they are financial assets and PLC would’ve instructed for them to be eye candy coated at all times presumably ?

Neil Lennon signed up to all of the paper work which prohibits him from being himself.

Neil Lennon must’ve been egotistical enough to think that what was available to him player wise and £15 million of further playing additions would’ve helped him and been enough for Neil Lennon to lead Celtic to [10 in a row] !?

Was Neil Lennon being [set up] as Celtic PLC and the rest of the Scottish swamp would surely have had prior knowledge about the betrayal / sellout that was about to take place ? [Sporting Heist 2] ?

Neil Lennon was bound by the equivalent of the PLC secrets act. NDA agreement means that in effect, circumstances or events can change the landscape with immediate effect.

And Neil Lennon has to comply with PLC [diktats] whether he agrees with them or not.

For instance and this DID happen last season, in Oct/Nov news broke on STV and BBC Reporting Scotland, indicated that [Ibrox would need £11 million to see out the season] and Celtic played guff for the rest of the season ?

Make of that what you want.

How do you make a team who were [supposedly] going for [10 in a row] all play guff at the same time and make it last until the end of the season ?

As Shane Duffy referred to [the unbelievable goings on behind the scene’s] whatever that meant ?

Baffle the team with baffling tactics formations and team selections and this will generate an [off] mood.

Manager unaware as he brasses out the PLC agenda to throw the [10] under a bus and prevent a financial implosion at ibrox, which would see Celtic Park attendances fall dramatically as happened after the previous Ibrox financial implosion in 2012.

If it wasn’t Neil Lennon being coerced by PLC NDA’s in the [10 in a row] season it would’ve been someone else.

So is it Neil Lennon’s fault that the most despicable set of custodians in the history of Celtic were in place to [throw] if necessary the [10 in a row] under a bus to keep old firm alive and kicking Tims aff the park in 2021 ?

A PLC board of custodians who’ve over saw the follow following….

    Failed to pursue trophy stripping.

    Failed to challenge LNS whitewash.

    Failed appallingly to prosecute Res12.

    Failed appallingly with 5WA.

Failed to throw the books at a Judicial Review.

Failed to support Turnbull Hutton [RIP].

Failed to back Neil Lennon during [Shame Game] fiasco.

Failed to deal with [Same Club Issue] in 2016 as Ibrox club returned to spfl but instead acted very sneakily to keep old firm tickets in 2016 to the very same price as the old firm tickets in 2012 meaning PLC custodians viewed Ibrox 2012 and Ibrox 2016 as the same club very sneaky and cowardly.

Failed to keep Brendan Rodgers happy by pulling the transfer window rug from under his feet.

Failed pathetically and disgustingly with the CBC issue and to front up to an interview with Alex Thompson on Channel 4 News about this issue, from whom it appears that Celtic PLC are in hiding from Alex Thompson what a brass neck these slimey custodians have !!!

So is it Neil Lennon’s fault that the Celtic PLC who were responsible for all of the above Failure’s were in office to enact [Sporting Heist 2] in the [10 in a row] season ?

Or is it the most cowardly plastic Paddy fakes who sing war songs then fill their pants as the Tory PLC custodians demand season ticket monies off of a cowardly Celtic supporter base that has happily clapped all of the board sacking disasters pointed out above ?

We as a club are at a worrying point in time were we have the worst EVER custodians in charge of our club, and we have the most Simple Simon collection of fans, plastic Paddy fakes who sing war songs then fill their pants as the PLC Tory custodians demand season ticket monies from them !!!

Its enough to make you sick !!!

  14. park the bus n blootir it on

Since the events in 2012, Celtic fans have had ample cast iron reasons 👆

to remove the PLC structure from the club by withholding season ticket monies that will collapse share value and at that point step back holding your monies tight and make PLC make a decision. Go into their own deep pockets, or walk out and sign the club over to fans. The CST idea of forever enlarging their shareholding base to enable questions at agm. This is very principled but its like an album track that isn’t at the top pics category.

    The aim is…

Plc / shares / board / stock market status / season tix / seats in stadium /

all of these concepts are Tory ideas. Get rid. Thatcher put seats in stadiums after Hillsborough which even Lpool fans say was a mass overreaction. Put seats in football stadiums and you’ll create a society of poodles and steeple and so it has proved. BBB began with getting rid of coal mines, and ruffians off of football terraces.

    BBB = Build back Better.

Celtic fc should be run along the lines of “a lorry load of volunteers” and recruiting players from lower divisions for development but but but basic skills and a workhorse ethic should be the desired requisite skill set for a player to play football in Scotland, in Europe we recognise our status and equate ourselves accordingly and model ourselves on smaller status clubs like Sherrif who put out Real Madrids

  15. park the bus n blootir it on

lights the other week. No more wasting resources on unnecessary players. All Celtic players to have a physique like Tierney and Montgomery. Take it from there. Get new club with work work work as our heartbeat and approach the impressive Irish fella Jim Goodwin to be our work horse orientated era manager/coach to get a Celtic fc reconnected to our working class roots. hh
