The Poste’ always delivers

484

Stop all the clocks, cut off the telephone, prevent the dog from barking with a juicy bone, the time has come.  Ange Postecoglou is officially Celtic manager.  It has been a long wait but consistent with Celtic’s typical managerial appointment times (Neil Lennon first got the job on 9 June 2010, despite already being in temp position).

The chapter of our history on Angelos Postecoglou now begins.  I’m only slightly annoyed they didn’t announce it at noon…..  Ange has delivered success beyond expectation wherever he goes.  That will be difficult to achieve at Celtic, where expectations are stratospheric, but hope in our hearts, and all that.

Strap in, it’s going to be a blast.  Best of luck, Ange.

  1. Welcome to Celtic, Ange. Plenty to do and little time to do it. Let’s get stuck in.

  2. Good luck to you Ange, I’m glad you have had discussions about a new modern vision for the club with the new CEO, hope you are clued into the squad we have and get rid of the non triers , Im looking forward to seeing who he is going to have on his first team staff and the behind the scenes people in analysis, conditioning, fitness, sports injuries and treatment.

  3. …..as long as he troys really hard to beat all forms of sleekit hundom………..

  4. Much more positivity and well-wishing on the appointment. Well done CQN.

    Cheerio for now.

  5. I knew the the feel good wouldn’t last long.

Kennedy has been given loads of praise, by players, especially youths, now in the first team squad- that continuity is important in football.

Was part of mosr of the 9 titkes and and the consistency that got us a 4×3

Usual suspects on twitter, JF blogger makes several stories based on trying to be popular on twitter it arrives on here as opinion.

  6. Welcome to Celtic Ange Postecoglou!

The hopes and dreams of millions rest upon your shoulders, nae pressure then!

Season tickets already bought, since we support the team, not the board, who have had enough letters from me telling them exactly what I think of their recent performance.

Onwards and upwards for nest season.

    Congratulations Ange.

    You’re a lucky, privileged individual.

But, from your statement, you clearly recognise that.

    Good luck.

As Celtic manager – you’ll have my support.

    Hail hail

Good Luck to our new manager who deserves the backing and goodwill of the support at this time.

    Already been WhatsApped this

    He’s Greek, he’s great

    He’ll smash your dinner plate

  10. Finally we have a manager, Celtic inform us with a brief announcement. After all but four months of parting with Neil Lennon they finally get the job done. Bully for the Board. They should all now give themselves a hearty, congratulatory slap on the back for doing something they should have done following our ignominious exit to Ferencvaros last season. Now that they’ve given us Plebs the barest of detail to keep us happy they can retreat back into their shell and let us know about trivial details concerning back room staff, DoF’s (or not) as and when they see fit. Their attitude to communicating with the support is appalling.

Well, I’m very happy that we finally have a manager but I’m seriously underwhelmed about the running of our club. I still won’t be rushing to renew my season ticket until further details emerge of structural change and recruitment. I would urge other fans to do the same. Desmond has thrown us a bone nothing more. Now he’ll expect us to roll over. To hell with him.

Best of luck to Ange our new manager now is the time to

    get behind him

Would be nice if he gets to bring his own backroom staff

Really hoping he can get Tom Rogic playing the way we know he can

  12. We might not get THAT Cafe for Almore……….but a Kebab shop now looks like a possibility.

    :)

  13. Welcome to Celtic Ange!

Backroom staff? What if he opts for continuity? Decides that he needs people who know Celtic, the set up Scottish football etc. He has very limited experience in European football and I’d imagine knows very little, if anything, about the internal workings of Celtic (that sort of stuff isn’t to be found on Google or YouTube).

So the question- if he opts for Kennedy and Strachan how will we know if he’s a Board stooge or if he himself tells us he wants them to be part of the set up. Do we believe him or believe if he opts for the two of them AND tells us he wants them do we think he’s a liar?

There’s definitely a player there. We have seen that before. AP should know how to get the best out of him.

  15. myboysnowatim on

We might see Kennedy & Strach remaining as part of the setup but Ange bringing in his own right hand man.

Not sure if he’s done that at his previous clubs.

Our proposed new coach apparently likes the high press, high tempo and pace.

Our shower were blowing out their collective hin’ends last season after an hour.

Rogic won’t and can’t last five minutes in such an environment.

  17. In an audacious move that is sure to strike a chord with The Faithful all over the world……….. the Australian Bar chain ” Walkabout” announce that they are to be re-branded ” Walk-0n- About” following Big Ange’s elevation to the managers role at Celtic Park…….

We’re gonna need a bigger barbie!

Certainly looks true to me after watching the Marinos recent league games. Heaps of energy and effort.

Mibby there’s a way he uses Rogic work as a creative hub, with a couple of younger buzzbombs doing the donkey work around Tom’s distributive brilliance ? Wonder, too, if Turnbull has the pace Ange demands?

I am optimistic there will be a big rework of our conditioning regimes.

Heard again in Oz today, if players don’t get with the Ange Plan – fitness and form – they get moved on.

I got my welcome email/video from Ange, he speaks very well and hopefully bring an attacking style of football.
