The Poste’ always delivers

484

Stop all the clocks, cut off the telephone, prevent the dog from barking with a juicy bone, the time has come.  Ange Postecoglou is officially Celtic manager.  It has been a long wait but consistent with Celtic’s typical managerial appointment times (Neil Lennon first got the job on 9 June 2010, despite already being in temp position).

The chapter of our history on Angelos Postecoglou now begins.  I’m only slightly annoyed they didn’t announce it at noon…..  Ange has delivered success beyond expectation wherever he goes.  That will be difficult to achieve at Celtic, where expectations are stratospheric, but hope in our hearts, and all that.

Strap in, it’s going to be a blast.  Best of luck, Ange.

  1. On way to work this morning and Celtic PLC have a nice radio advert encouraging season ticket renewal.

I say nice, I thought it was crap.

What has Dom done since arriving, the great communicator, I dont think so.

I wished I shared your optimism re. Ange.

    Massive gamble in my opinion.

But I hope you’re right and I’m wrong.

  3. Was wondering why our new manager was called Angel?

Then I realised, it was an exclamation mark. My eyes are obviously in worse shape than some of the punctuation on CQN. 😉

  4. Anges appointment is a gamble? would that not be true of any managerial appoint across global football?

Forget all the negativity, the boards nefarious dealings and get behind the team. Some posters seem to want a post mortem now, when fantastic outcomes are possible, Glass half full, always!!

you want change in the board? then put your money into the CST, the only vehicle at the moment that is questioning the board . i have great faith in Jeanette Findlay.

Every appointment is a gamble, what anyone has done previously matters not a jot, other than to offer optimism or highlight pessimism, neither of which helps he/she/non binary do their job. Think practically all who post on here hope he’s a roaring success, both short term & long term.

What exactly is his job though, is he not “manager of the football dept” (thought I read that somewhere).

The North Curve are entitled to their views and their right to protest, it won’t satisfy the Jack and Victors in our support, but then as a a support we’re a diverse group, and of course a club open to all, catholic with a small c, so to speak

Is it not a bit harsh on Dom he’s only in the door (spare me he’s only the monkey and not the organ grinder, we know that)

Big on visuals. Low on thought.

    Club governance IS an issue.

The focus should be on those who (many feel) have been there too long.

Dominic M – not even in the door.

Sharon B – only four years on the job.

Dilutes the value of the protest.

it is poor art work as well. -)))

I dont think they know what a board does actually. Or the governance and Regulatory duties that must be performed.

For sure most of them have been there too long, But who comes next will just be more of the same.

The board do what the owner(s) tell them.

You could competently argue that our board don’t know what a Celtic board should do. They are self serving, do nothing of note, no growth agenda (don’t buy the glass ceiling argument, just a tool used by those that wouldn’t even try) other than t on spend our money.

Amazing picture of St Mary’s Abercromby Street in Glasgow from 1952. Children playing on the roof of the school

Bottom right of the picture tenements surround a hall on what was once 67 East Rose Street.

Could that be the hall where

Interests me that the appointment of the much-needed rebuild manager has so far garnered 473 comments.

Falling four slots behind stories about:

Ajer v Van Dijk comparison; 655

    Gangster clubs; 731

    Hibs v Celtic; 899

    Howe pantomime; 1627

What’s ostensibly the biggest ‘good news’ about us (except for the 2x 9IAR and 4x trebles) rates lower, so far, than other leads. Seems gnashing of teeth and wailing are still very much in vogue.

I hope Paulo’s next story has the advance intel on who the Athenian Fenian’s RHM is gunna be; Great to pair Ange w Damien Duff IMO.

In fairness, Ange’s appointment has seemed all but certain (more so than Howe’s) for quite a while now and a lot of oxygen has been expended discussing it on this articles.

Good protest by the GB, although I disagree on inclusion of McKay who is just in the door.

To have NEDs on the board since the early 2000s is crazy.

I was hoping for a large internal revamp but by the looks of it, it’s not in the offing.

i suppose go tell, for every Jack and Victor there is a wee boy with a banner.

both stereotypes, when none needed.we read both sides, both Celtic to core.

its all about risk and our direction, but its exciting and i love all the differing views, get the 11 right and we are all right🖒.

    :-)

Think, not getting to Parkhead, seeing your pals etc is only adding to the remoteness from our club during these covid times.
