The rascal Neil Lennon

771

What a rascal that Neil Lennon is, laughing off interest in Amido Balde while leading us all down the Kevin Doyle road last week, then Amido pitches up at Celtic Park, complete with obligatory Celtic scarf, before heading for some scans and time plugged -up with on the running machine today.

Amido’s road to Celtic Park has not been straight.  He was released by Sporting Lisbon last year without kicking a ball for them, but he has spent a year in a competitive league playing against some Champions League defences, so Celtic will have a fair idea of what kind of player he is.

Does he have the technique?  Does he have the physique?  Does he have the temperament?   John Park and the scouts will have given Neil Lennon lots of information on these elements of Amido, so there should be no surprises.

This is even more true of Balde than of last season’s twin striking signings, Lassad and Miku (trivia question of the future, Who led the line for Celtic when they beat Barcelona in 2012?).  Both arrived in the final days of the window, with options expiring all around and beggars choosing.

As always, the most important hope for any transfer window is that the manager and scouts get their first choices.  That assured, we’ll do alright.

11 June and first piece of transfer speculation. Held the tide as long as I could.

    Re Jack McGinn

Points taken re his time as chairman – in my Malcontent days he replied to a letter I wrote him most courteously – which many of his predecessors ( and successors) did not

But ‘best football club paper in Britain’ – it was the only one for about six years!

Yiv made yer mark tonight regarding Ogilvie. There would indeed be many aspiring successors of the GA variety ready and willing to take his place and continue his work. Well said.

  3. Has anyone stopped to think why nobody stood against RCO today?

The vote on the 42 Team Structure is about to take place – if it gets the go-ahead then the RCO position becomes an irrelevance – a mere SFA administrative figurehead.

When the new set-up comes to power – PL and the likes will be calling the shots!

What we have established in recent days from Charlotte Fakes is Darryl King, like Jim Traynor, had his copy edited by the Chairman of Rangers (in liquidation).

It’s a safe bet this policy started under David Murray and continues under the Sevco stewardship with many other Laptop Loyalists involved – Broadfoot, Wilson, the other King, Jackson, Jardine, Leckie and possibly Waddell.

That leaves the likes of Lindsey, Duncan, Mitchell and many others looking on with envy because they have their work edited by their employer.

Further down the scale, as in a dot on the horizon, the Legless Loon and other useful idiots are briefed by Jack Irvine’s tea boy.

Finally, listening to that latest audio it seems if Media House tells enough lies often enough one of them will stick – going by the description of Neil Lennon in that meeting.

  6. So celtic end up de facto end up supporting CO re-election. And what is the reaction of some on here. After all your anger you praise celtic for acting in such a cowardly manner.

You are are just like the blind hun loyal. No matter what happens you would supporting.

For celtic to let this pass without a comment is simply shameful.

So all of you blindly loyal board supporters what is the boards reason for supporting or indeed not opposing his reelection?

Ever since I can remember we’ve faced hostility, deception and cheating on a grand scale.

Now I would hope like most Tims that Celtic have in no way been complicit in the re-election of a Hun bigot who so openly stands against who and what we represent.

However, for me it’s not a ‘deal braker’ as some on here are suggesting.

So long as there’s a team playing in green and white in the east end of Glasgow next season we should be supporting them when possible.

    ………………………………………………………………………………..

Completely agree, big man……or wee man….as the case might be.

WE have been up against it for decades.

    Campbell Ogilvie?

    I laugh in his face!

He knows the truth…..and he knows that one day it will be in the public domain too!

I will continue to support the club…..and to be patient!

The huns are deed and their supporters will be too.

    All of them.

In the nicest possible way, of course!

    Ah, right….Ta………….the Devil recruits it’s own ….Hahahahaha…!!!!

  13. Today for a fair few of the support is the straw etc.

Celtic could have put forward a candidate for the post, chose not to, so they are obviously happy with the way things are being run.

My main gripe with the board is their lack of action re the scandal that are the referees, and their governance.

We can see week in week out, that we are being treated differently than all other clubs.

Even in the fourth tier, the huns were getting assistance week in week out.

Our club may have no say over the sfl, but they sure should be shouting about how we have to play to a different set of rules in the spl.

Their treatment of the GB would be another.

Their total lack of backing to the continued hounding of our manager is shocking, and I don’t give a flying duck what the media say, their lack of backing for him publicly is an act of cowardice imo.

Other managers can do and say as they please, yet our manager is hauled up before the beaks for a wee sweary word.

This time could and should have been a time when change was paramount for the betterment of the game, a time where transparency and honesty were pushed forward as they way forward, our club have chosen to say and do nothing.

Our club are scottish football, without us for the present and the near future, there is no scottish football, we are in a position we will never be in again, and yet we do nothing.

And I wager we are doing nothing behind the scenes.

John Reid uttered those words…Those days are gone….they sure are.

We all support the club in our own way, some will chose to pay into a corrupt game, some won’t, choices, we all have them.

Our game is a corrupt as it gets, and citing fifa and uefa being corrupt as an excuse to validate the sfa’s corruption is with respect a feckin joke.

Our club is built on charity and honesty, and doing what is right, what has happened, muney is what’s happened, muney is now the god, we are seen as fools who will continue to pour hard earned into the club due to our love for the club, and boy, don;t they know it.

I love Celtic and all it stands for, I love watching the team play well, I love watching the team win, I love it not so much when we don’t win, or lose, but love them all the same, that will never change.

I congratulate the board for steering us through the austerity, and we are in a good place just now, we could be in a better place, but I fear that this is as good as it will get, them’s will be back soon enough, and with the help from the cheat’s with the whistles they WILL be back winning titles again.

Our chance to bury them has gone, although it probably was only the support who has wanted them gone forever.

But don’t ask me to love what the suits are doing by their inactions.

I stated earlier why I thought Celtic should have opposed Ogilvie’s re-election.

Despite the frustration I won’t stop supporting the club. I think many people feel the same way – but folk always have the option on whether they want to continue following the team or not.

i totally see where your coming from m8 and beleive you me i’ve had a few beaatch fits myself at times reading some meeja reports put on here..but Charlotte will out a few of those who realy deserve it and more besides..our board would be making a grave mistake if they were to be the way some post on here..they may not be supporters in the same vein as us but they have a duty to protect the club and its supporters..who realy knows whats going on in the background..we’ve got to keep the faith and stand by our club as a solid unit..hurting the club will give the zombies and the meeja relief from their terminal pain..they are hurting big time!!no matter what they say and remember 14th of june last year how we all enjoyed that day and those after..its coming round again i hope we all have a jelly n icecream day on cqn to celebrate their liquidation event h.h

It says everything about them that they are happy to be told what to write by someone who doesn’t even employ them.

Traynor, King and anyone else involved, clearly have no professional pride – they are an embarrassment to their trade as well as themselves.

” If they(The SFA) persist they will only cause issues for themselves as much as Rangers.”

The matter was the UEFA licence and wee tax case.

Now what could they possibly mean?

  26. GlassTwoThirdsFull on

On 17th April the SFA released this:

“Lest it be forgotten, with the honourable exceptions of Celtic and Rangers in recent years, Scottish clubs now routinely exit European football in the qualifying rounds.

“Our national men’s team are bottom of FIFA World Cup Qualifying Group A and are ranked 77th in the world.

“Some of our biggest clubs are experiencing serious financial difficulty.

On 18th April they spent four hours discussing Neil Lennon using a couple of bad words.

I wonder how many of the 76 teams ranked higher than Scotland would allocate their resources in such a manner…….
