What a rascal that Neil Lennon is, laughing off interest in Amido Balde while leading us all down the Kevin Doyle road last week, then Amido pitches up at Celtic Park, complete with obligatory Celtic scarf, before heading for some scans and time plugged -up with on the running machine today.
Amido’s road to Celtic Park has not been straight. He was released by Sporting Lisbon last year without kicking a ball for them, but he has spent a year in a competitive league playing against some Champions League defences, so Celtic will have a fair idea of what kind of player he is.
Does he have the technique? Does he have the physique? Does he have the temperament? John Park and the scouts will have given Neil Lennon lots of information on these elements of Amido, so there should be no surprises.
This is even more true of Balde than of last season’s twin striking signings, Lassad and Miku (trivia question of the future, Who led the line for Celtic when they beat Barcelona in 2012?). Both arrived in the final days of the window, with options expiring all around and beggars choosing.
As always, the most important hope for any transfer window is that the manager and scouts get their first choices. That assured, we’ll do alright.
11 June and first piece of transfer speculation. Held the tide as long as I could.

Spot on.
Perma Ragin re the masonic shenanigans going on within scottish football, shenanigans specifically designed to keep us ‘in our place’, perma ragin for sure, but would never ever do anything to hurt in anyway Celtic football club i.e. withhold or block any sort of revenue stream, that would be just plain daft imo.
But count me in on any sort of anti SFA campaign, their sole purpose in life is to protect, promote and strengthen sevco, without the SFA sevco would be extinct by now.

bye bye SFA…
THE vote on plans for a merger of the Scottish
Premier League and Scottish Football League
at Hampden Park tomorrow is “hard to call,”
according to Stenhousemuir chairman Bill
Darroch.
Just 16 of the 30 SFL clubs gave
reconstruction proposals their backing in an
informal ballot at the annual general meeting
at the national stadium last month – Rangers
do not get a vote as they are associate
members having joined last summer.
The Second and Third Division clubs met
subsequently to discuss a threatened
breakaway by the 10 First Division clubs, a
threat which remains in the background.
When all the SFL clubs reconvene in the south
side of Glasgow for a formal vote, Darroch is
hoping that a solution involving all 42 senior
clubs will be agreed upon.
However, he is not certain that 22 clubs – the
number needed to see the plans go ahead –
will vote in favour.
“I think it will be tight, I think it is hard to
call,” Darroch said.
“Some clubs will still be making their minds
up as they travel to Hampden.
“The clubs got some documentation only
yesterday and I have still to have a look at it.
“We are not totally 100 per cent happy but
the general feeling is that it is better we have
all 42 clubs together than have a split.
“There was a meeting between the Second and
Third Division clubs after the AGM and I
detected a softening among some clubs but I
can appreciate there are a number of different
and legitimate concerns among them.
“The governance needs to be right, and the
voting structure is not as equitable as it could
be but we have been debating this for a long
time so hopefully we get it over the line.”
Third Division Stirling Albion are set to vote in
favour of the plans but director Stuart Brown
is also cautious about the outcome.
He said: “It is on a knife edge. As a board we
have agreed to vote yes on the basis of
information that we have been given but more
information is becoming public all the time
which means it might not be as
straightforward as some people might think.
“There is a lot of talking to be done.”
Forfar Athletic director David McGregor admits
the Irn-Bru Second Division club’s decision to
vote yes will be made with a “heavy heart.”
He said: “The vibes I am getting is that the
vote will be carried.
“The general feeling is that there are still one
or two clubs against it but they will get the 22
to take it through, although I might be proved
wrong.
“We have reached the stage where there is not
a great alternative.
“We were a ‘no’ at the AGM but we have
changed our mind and will stick with that
although it will be with a heavy heart.
“We have got to hope it is the right decision. I
think even those clubs in the First Division will
be wary.”
The proposals involve a 12-10-10-10
structure, with the 11th-placed team in the
top flight taking part in four-team play-offs at
the end of the campaign.
The station is cruz quebrada, according to the ground hopper website.
Kojo.Fella I think you probably have hit the nail on the head it doesnt appear to be the usual type set up that Balde has, and it will need to be gone through in minute detail to ensure everything with the deal is all above board. So I guess we will just have to be patient.H.H.

Like you I would be gutted if we were gutted if we were complicit in the re-election of CO….the ‘Corrupt One’.
Demanding to know how we voted is as badf as Sally demanding to know the identities of the Panel. We should trust the Club to do what they believe we would vote for.
You my friend will stand shoulder to shoulder next season and for many more to come, God willing.

if you’re out there, I don’t know what the nature of things is at the moment but I’m saying prayers for all
Evening Celts,
I’m not going to jump in and slag off the CFC board, I’d like to understand why?
The reason this is so important to me is that if our club are ok with that man as head of the sfa then those whose job it is to manage my/ our club are a part of the corruption.
I want to know more, let the club explain to the shareholders and supporters, I feel ashamed to be any part of Scottish football.
So CFC, answer the question, did you vote to re-elect that heavily conflicted recipient of rangers money? Why?
V
Weefra..
Some old mate need to be patient
Did any of you stand outside hampden today and protest vigorously for olgivie and sfa to be disbanded due to corruption and funny handshakes??nah i didnt think so…i’ve mentioned on here a few times that i would help with others who wanted to protest, because its our duty in a democracy to voice your opninion etc..but no one bothered because i think deep down you know now that the truth will come out and honesty will win..whether justice is served is another matter,i think you’ll find the guys running our club know whats coming h.h
Joe F-a dominant CB is what we need,i would have liked to have seen more of Gershon, but maybe did not show up well in training.A No 10 i think we are all looking for.I would like a couple of experienced guys but doesn’t suit the current model.

Greatest league in the world. lol!
As if an early exit was not bad enough, England Under-21s suffered further embarrassment as European Championship hosts Israel sent Stuart Pearce’s side home without a point.
Just to be clear i am not advocating anyone chucking watching Celtic its entirely up to any individual. I have renewed my 2 season cards.
What i will add is there will be no point anyone coming on the blog moaning next season when we get shafted yet again, either by a referee or the SFA as we surely will, as we are complicit in excepting the status quo.
I spend every bit of my spare cash watching and investing in Celtic like many others but the actions of the PLC continue to frustrate and disappoint me on a number of issues, i will continue to fight from within, if thats wrong then so be it!

Bada Bing. I agree that is why I feel big Mick would be an ok signing as he would run through a brick wall and is Celtic through and through.I never thought the big guy was anywhere near as poor as some supporters made him out to be and he now has 3 more years experience under his belt.H.H.
Blantyre Tim
re Jack McGinn– I was always sorry for him.
Jack was a trained journalist who started the Celtic View I think and ran it successfully making it the best football club paper in Britain.
As a result he was co-opted onto the board when it suited the “families” and he was made the chairman at a time when none of the so called family shareholders wanted the responsibility.
He had absolutely no power whatsoever with very few shares. He could sit at board meetings and be totally against what had been decided at any one time– and then left as the public face to explain what had been decided and why.
Yes I know he could have resigned but like many on here he did not want to turn his back on the club he worked for and supported throughout most of his adult life.
He is undoubtedly a Celtic man through and through and in my opinion he got a right good using at times.
Vmhan,
You will be waiting a long time if you expect any answers from the PLC, i have contacted the club at least 10 times via email and twitter regarding the results of the fans survey, no response yet.
Why after spending a lot of money to conduct it are they not releasing the results?
gebhoy
So we still have a hun at the top of the SFA?
We also happen to have a solid core of huns in the referees association and in every TV studio, Radio station and newspaper office on the country.Their primary concern is the continuation of their line. Knock one down and another one will pop up. Get rid of Campbell Ogilvie and Ogilvie Campbell will be waiting in the wings.
It won’t stop us being the pre eminent team in Scottish football for many years to come (or until we escape to an honest and fair league somewhere).
Charlotte going to reveal how rangers screwed charities.

Has Balde no signed yet?

I sincerely hope you are right regards all the peepil involved in this scandal get wht is coming to them and that the board are doing everything they can to ensure it happens .
I must say though this long drawn out club strategy is playing havoc with my breaking point .
All I have seen for too long now is last straws in this story ,so someone better come up with a way out of this set up pretty damn quick .
It looks like our only hope is accepted into a league set up out of this country as IMO the game here for us is finished

Small beer I know, but James Crosbie, former Chief Executive of our favourite Bank (of Scotland) has been formally stripped of his knighthood. Kept the money though!
Now, anybody wanting to give me odds that David Murray will be next?
Dontbrattbakkinanger,
Thank you very much; that’s great. I appreciate your effort in trying to help. I’m really looking forward to experiencing a wee moment there.
mickbhoy1888,
Thanks too for the information. 12 Euros is not a lot for a taxi but I prefer travelling to these types of places using the local transport, if there is any. It sort of adds to the occasion for me. Maybe I’m just sad though.
