Two significant goals

Nir Bitton’s goal was special but two goals last night were more significant.  Leigh Griffiths header for the first belied the player’s height and stature.  His scoring record with his head in recent months has been spectacular, whether darting into space to nick the ball goal-wards, as he did away to Dundee and Dundee United, or when he uses his salmon-leap to get up and stay up.

When he was at Livingston Leigh was the next hot young thing.  For whatever reason his path to the top wasn’t straight, but he’s now first choice striker at Scotland’s top club and making the most of it.

James Forrest’s goal was also full of what we want to see from him.  One-on-one with a defender, with space to run into, he did what he needed to do.  His pace took him past the defender and turned an opportunity into great chance.

Several players are finishing the season strongly.

As I’m willing you to lose your bet today, I’ll be hoping the winners come your way all day tomorrow!

If there’s a 2 horse race, let me know, I’ll tip one, and you can confidently put your house on the other one!

  6. I thought Brockville was 7 in a row. Maybe was and 9. But as Kev says you just took it for granted that it was always going to be that way. After the game we went to a local bar near falkirks ground. A guy came in selling the pink times with a Huns scarf on. Somebody set fire to his newspapers from the back and he was walking around selling while the smoke and flames were billowing. What a laugh when he discovered what was going on We all chipped in and paid for his papers. Honestly. Por cierto

If we do win the league today, it’s going to be embarrassing when Ronny does the ‘roar’ at his daughters’ confirmation.

  17. Brockville was definitely 9 in a row, my old man took me that day. First time I witnessed us winning anything.

Didn’t realise what a momentous achievement it was until years later.
