  1. A great performance tonight.

I’m proud of them all but Big Forster deserves a special mention.

Now for the SPL Neilly Bhoy…..

  2. First time poster. Immensely proud of Celtic tonight. An absolute pleasure to hear Italian commentary team talk about Celtic in such surprisingly glowing terms. Udinese are a team that are admired by everyone out here. Celtic more than matched them. Hail Hail to you all! And by the way, I’m not a hun, if I’m allowed to say that.

  3. Didn’t see the game but by the sounds of it, Samaras and Ki both played very well. They and Ledley seem to be our key operators in European games.

Looking forward to watching big Fraser defy my expectations and maybe, just maybe, oust Zaluska from the no.1 spot in my affections (will be difficult though!).

    Hail Hail

  4. Fraser Forster

We’re a bit disappointed,” We created some good chances and with a bit more luck we could have had the three points to go through. The lads were saying that we maybe should have had a couple of penalties for handball, it’s disappointing.

“We’ve got better and better as the season has gone on, I think that we deserved a win. It was a bad time to conceded a goal on another day we could have won it.

“I expected to be tested, I tried to do my bit for the cause but it just wasn’t enough. We’re on a great run and it’s important that we look forward to Sunday because St Johnstone will be a tough game away from home but if we play like that it should be more than enough.”

“I think that we’ve been a credit to Scottish football with the way that we’ve played in a Champions League type group, we’ve shown that we can handle it.”

‘Lesser teams’, perhaps as in ‘Europa League’?

As I said earlier, this was easily the toughest Europa group and having had a shufty through the CL groups, could only find one that was definitely tougher than our Europa group: Group A. A few look tougher based on “ooh they’re a big name”, but as stated, there was really only one group I would say that without a doubt was tougher than our Europa group – some would be worthy of discussion (Barca’s group).

  7. Progress.

That is something I like to see in Celtic.

Against Athletico Madrid I thought we gave a good account of ourselves away from home in the first game. Although it turned out 2-0 (or was it 3) I thought the result did not do us justice.

Udinese at Home we played well and although it was said they were a weakens side, so were we, we did outplay them for most of the game.

2 ties against Rennes we were the best team overall in both games I thought.

A home tie against Athletico and again we were not out of our depth and but for a silly lost goal when Kayal ducked/slipped we could have deservedly taken a point.

Tonight against Udinese we once again gave a decent account of ourselves, first half especially. Denied 1 penalty – possibly 2 although but for Fraser Forster we could have been 2 or 3 down and we could have stole it in the end.

The experience gained by some of our Bhoys this Euro campaign will stand them in good stead for the season. Without the Euro performances I question whether the Bhoys would have gotten back into the league. I think although the first 2 games may have affected a couple of performances we were extremely poor overall early in the season in the SPL. The performances in Europe helped these Bhoys believe they were better than the league scrap with Motherwell.

    It’s looking up Bhoys.

    Hail! Hail!

    And here’s to a treble.

    MWD feeling confident.

PS. No more slagging FF and Sammy. Let’s get behind every single Bhoy for the remainder of the season.

  8. Is it true that David Villa is out for the season following the injury he received in that stupid World Club game?

Thankfully we’ve not had that blow this week.

  9. Was Cha who hit the post. Why were all the big guys standin waiting on the corners coming in instead of running in to head the ball. Zonal attacking??

Oh dear that’s a dead giveaway lol

  12. The Honest Cover-up on

Great effort tonight. We’ve come on leaps and bounds in this Europa campaign. This was a group which could easily have been a Champions League group and we were the width of the post from qualifying.

It looks like Forster’s penalty save against Hearts could have been the making of the big man. Lennon praising him highly tonight. His confidence will hopefully continue to soar.

No time for a Euro hangover though. Must hit the ground running in the SPL. A draw tonight keeps our unbeaten run intact as well. Without getting ahead of ourselves, I think next season in Europe we can approach games with a real sense of optimism and purpose after the last 6 games instead of dread and fear which had been taking over the last few years!

  13. Well played bhoys, feared a doing tonight but that was a very good performence considering our injuries.

Saw the banner on KDS so i suppose that will be another fine coming our way, well done bhoys, what a clever bunch you lot are.

  14. Dirty Mac, Patrick27,

Thank you for your gracious welcome. As I was saying, Italian TV was full of praise for Celtic tonight. Sammi, in particular.

  15. Cha looks like a guy that was bought to help Ki settle in

    here Ally

whats that coming over the hill?

it is a monster, a monster that you and your fans are sh*te scared off#

    LENNY’S GONNA GET YA

  16. Only trouble now is we have to cope with blood & snotters SPL.

Hope our young Bhoys are ready for it.

  17. shouldnt underestimate that performance tonight, we had some players who looked every bit the part against one of the best teams in europe this season. we havent been able to say that often away from home.

great experience for our young players, fraser forster, my player of the season so far, and james forrest both look like they will go on to be top top quality players.

we have the force, lets keep it going into next year.

  18. Socks round the ankles and no shinnies on

Just read back on some comments, happy to see most posters as proud to be a Celtic supporter as I was watching that performance this evening. Wish some posters would lay off individuals t

hough, Cha seems to be tonight’s target, God only knows who would have got it if that volley had spun in

  19. corrib04 is Neil Lennon on

Very proud of Celtic tonight. Best away performance for a good while. We played without fear tonight which was encouraging. Loved FF, Loved Sammy, Loved Dan and Loved Vic, Kayal wasnt bad either. For me young James Forrest was hugely impressive and was not out of his depth in that company.

    Mncelt,

I must take umbrage with your comment about us not competing with lesser teams in Europe.

The three other teams in our group play in leagues light years ahead in quality and finance compared to our own.

Ktf, we are a young side and will have gained valuable experience from our group games. It wont be long until this side has the confidence in their own ability to mix it with the big boys again.

  20. Our last two league games have been 1-0 stuffy wins. If this team plays anywhere near the level that they played tonight, we will give most SPL teams a doing.

    …………………….

someone else posted a youtube video of Plizen fans with the same banner and also letting off flares, apparently no action was taken by UEFA.

the only thing to worry about is being grassed up by the Scottish press

If any fans were stupid enough to have a go at UEFA then I would imagine that the club knows who they are, as they sold the tickets to them.

Daryl Bentfoot being the nasty piece of work we all know and love on Twitter this evening….or so I’m told as I don’t do Tweets!
