  1. Night all.

Going to be bed chuffed and gutted. (gutted for the players, not for myself)

    Bitter sweet eh!

  2. How can anyone moan about tonight?

We were up against currently the best team in Italy and they needed the officials turning a blind eye to win it!

From the absolute low of half time against Killie to that is exceptional!

    I AM NEIL LENNON!!

  3. We have the makings of a very good team here.

Thought we lost a bit when Kayal went off,I know he wasnt on the ball much, but he did close down their space.

Forster is improving, but I thought he should had been quicker off his line for the goal..Slan

  4. BIG-CUP-WINNERS

Tell you what – turn it down & I’ll phone you so you’ll hear me shouting and screaming (&worse) at a silent TV. Trust me the its atmospheric :-)

Its a forum – you can be both positive and critical of the team it is allowed – we have gone out of the competition.

I was both positive in my praise of Sammy and Fraser and suggested Ki was the week link in the team – hardly negative.

I dont care about your crap u areusually to negative for my like to call your self a supporter so if you want to be negative go elswhere because clowns like you in my day would have got a right good thumping for your negative vibe..

  6. Great performance tonight.

Out of the group very close to two teams with millions or world class players in their squads, Di Natale is their Larsson one in a generation find, Atletico came to Celtic Park with a £35m man on the bench. We played very well against both, performances powered by just being CELTIC.

Big Lurcheo was outstanding tonight, clearly playing with confidence from that penalty save at the weekend. We have seen how these kids can play when they have confidence, the ‘went easy on them’ 3-0 hunping of the muck last season a classic example of it. Team with confidence hammered them and result never in doubt, that gets knocked and the young team get walked over. Got to keep building on positive results, we will not face a team better than us from now to the end of the season, play them with confidence and not over confidence and the league is there. The manager can control that. He wants this so much and Im starting to see the players with that hunger we all have for this, best thing we have realised this season so far.

If I could Id start walking to the game on the 28th I would, thats the day their world caves in.

    Then burns .

  7. Think Cha headed it back across the goals.

Thought big Sami could have kept it down their end of the park. We need to be smarter in these sits!!

  9. Ten Men Won The League on

We deservedly got a draw tonight away to the Serie A joint league leaders despite being without 3 or 4 key players. This team is growing in stature with every passing week

Sunday’s game will be tough due to tonights efforts, but come through that and we then have no midweek football to distract us from the ultimate aim, the SPL title

With Matthews + Izzy back on the flanks, Ledley + Commons to bolster midfield, and reinforcements arriving in 3 weeks, things are looking good for the 2nd half of the season

  10. I think we can take some pretty good positives from this season’s Euro campaign.

We’ve played in the toughest group and not been humiliated. Indeed, but for two unforced errors (Kayal and Cha), one lapse of concentration and one error on the part of a referee, we would have topped the group.

I’ll easily make an excuse for the two player errors, as they happen in football, we just got punished severely for them. The penalty, we can’t do anything about, so the only gripe over the whole campaign was switching off a minute into injury time tonight.

However, we’ve played some great football and are looking like a team that the predators will soon be sniffing about (which is good, in a sense). Looking at how we can play and how we are progressing, I would think that in a year or so, that team can easily be last 16/8 CL.

  11. What a pleasure to have articulate, pleasant, handsome young men in the espn studio. Can we have this every week please? Erra arum arum arum he needs era more width out wide err a, the ref should have asked the 4th official before sending off Calley player.

Being articulate. Knowing rules of football. Not wearing an earring in your 40’s. These should be requirements of football pundits.

  12. Didn’t expect us to do as well as we did in this campaign. A big well done to everyone involved. Get FF signed!

Still gutted though. A tale of two penalties and we always seem to be on the wrong side of the touch and go’s. We got better and better as the campaign went on and think its shame we are not in the draw tomorrow. I think this young team would have really brought something to the competition.

Hail Hail Big game on Sunday!

He was in an offside position but was not offside (Not interfering with play)….

Eight games in Europe, acquitted ourselves quite well, and had some really good performances. I suppose we were always going to need two goals and still in with a shout right to the whistle.

  15. Will watch the game later tonight as I am stuck in work. Looks like we made a decent game of it based on the comments but I’m really scunnered that we yet again have to put up with what is after all another failure to compete with the lesser teams in Europe.

  16. Estadio Nacional

Well said, some on here forget the quality we have been up against in this group.

I said before, from the low of Killie to the feel good of the last few weeks, title is ours!

Don’t take me wrong way bud, full of praise for this team.

Just highlighting if not for individual errors……………. (would’ve, should’ve, could’ve)

It takes the shine off how well the team have played in this tournament.

Although Hoops was very unlucky for the pen,

Its Europe, he was naive and got suckered !

  18. I’m going to hold back from posting on tonight’s performance to tell you all

I think we will win the treble.

    Tictalker talking tic

  19. James Forrest is Lennon on

    An excellent performance tonight.

That team of of ours is going places. I have high hopes for us now. If – and it’s a big if – if we can sign big Baba in January I reckon this title is ours to lose.

Really proud of the team tonight. These are still young players, and they are growing into this team. I said a few weeks ago Stokes has turned me around and with his shot tonight which came off the post I am more convinced than ever that he has evolved into a top drawer footballer.

Victor Wanyama though … man oh man, he has the makings of a class, class act.

  20. great performance should have had a penalty

    but cha was terrible

forster best performance in goals ive seen in a long time

samaras best performance this season in the first half

majstrovic between him and forster for MOTM spectacular performanmce in defence

    ki…iffy

    mulgrew worse than cha

    hooper iffy

    stokes lifted the team

    wanyama brilliant

i will rate this performance 7 out of 11

Is it ok to to wear a Prince Albert in your late 50′s ????

    ———————————————–

I guess it is ok as long as he doesn’t mind being worn by you

  22. I suspect I am in a minority tonight, and whilst I thought there were some good performances, and , the manager’s game plan looked fine , I thought we were naive.

In the first half Mulgrew had 2 / 3 set piece opportunities, which he continually wasted, and failed to beat the first defender.

One in the second half, looked half practised, and at that this level it is the difference.

Cha has now repeatedly shown himself to be a liability in Europe , IMHO costing us 2 points in Rennes , and the same tonight. That , and the fact tht he continuously returns injured from international football , means we should dump.

Above might seem a bit ruthless, but, ruthlessness can be the difference between success and failure.

Despite all that , Zi still fancy us for the league.

Interfering has to be based on blocking view and movement towards the ball; he done neither, rather pulling away as the ball came in. It’s a very nifty tactic to be honest.

  24. James Forrest

You are correct Wanyama,he is going to be some player.I would had pushed him forward last 20 mins,.Slan

  25. 2nd move meant he was on when the ball came back across. The penalty we didnt get was shocking!! Was his boss in the stand?

  26. 99 times out of 100 the flag would have gone up for offside, no question.

And the pen we should have had at the end, shocking decision by the officials, shocking stuff.

I wonder if they are enjoying the pleasures decisions like that bring some people?????

At least we had Chris Sutton and John Collins in the studio.

Was pleased tonight and think we are back on track. Last season the excitement of watching our young team had the support really optimistic. So the first part of the season was very disappointing. But think the team are getting back to their best, still a bit to go yet but it’s coming.

The bonus is we have the outstanding Wanyama and Matthews has found his feet too. Hopefully Lustig and one or two others in January will take us on further. Hate the reaction to our goalie, too many forget he’s relatively young and will be a right good ‘un.

  28. Well done Neil and the bhoys they did us proud tonight.

We needed that after the week we have just had.

Cheers. Im not going down that ‘its ours’ patter route, lessons learned and fingers burnt lately but know what you mean, I was trying to post the same thing without actually saying it.

Ive been trying to suss when the last Glasgow derby is this season to be there, hopefully The Last Ever one against that mob and the league already in the bag.

The whole club has had a confidence break down, the Football Team can re-build it through more hard work and raise the whole thing away from this slumber.

  30. Neil Lennon

“I was very proud of the team, everyone made a fantastic contribution and with a bit of luck we’d be through,”

“I thought there was a clear handball, I though it hit one of their centre-backs on the arm, we hit the post, we had one cleared off the line…

“In terms of chances it was was almost as good as we’ve played.

“To come away from home, to Italy of all places, and play like that was good to see.”

Fraser Forster was key to keeping Celtic’s hopes alive with a string of fine saves and Lennon likened the on-loan Newcastle man to a former Hoops favourite.

“We had Artur Boruc a couple of years ago and in Forster, I think we’ve found another one like that. There were some top-class saves. You need your goalkeeper like that.”
